RE: Reaper and volumes with Rea Access
Where can I get reper and ray access? -Original Message- From: Mario [mailto:m...@tiscali.it] Sent: Tuesday, November 23, 2010 11:46 AM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Reaper and volumes with Rea Access Hi, I'am a blind user, and I'am learninng how to use reaper. I produce radio and video spots, and in these 5 years of work I've ever used Sound forge, that isn't a multitrack editor, so has some limitations for my work. On this list I've discovered that Reaper can become very accessible by using Rea Access, a tird parti plug-in that talks to my screen reader and allows movements between tracks, faders, triggers ecc. I've learned how to select, cut, paste, but I can't understand volumes. Often, for my work I have 2 or 3 tracks, one for the background music and the others for voices or effects. So I need to put down the volume of the background music and re incrementing the same volume when the voice track is finished. How I can do this with Reaper via keyboard commands? I've assigned a shortcut for inserting envelope points, but then I can't understand what I have to do. I don't want to use automation if possible because I don't have a midi controller, and automating volumes via keyboard can't be easy, especially if I want to create a gradual shape. Anyone can suggest a solution? Thanks! Flac is a lossless format which means you don't lose sound quality compressing to that format. It is a bit larger than mp3 however so if space is a consideration go with mp3. Otherwise flac is definitely the better choice. Re: Exact audio copy
It will give you a perfect rip if you use flac and as long as your cd isn't damaged in any way. EAC definitely does the best job of ripping cds at bit-perfect, i.e. a true exact copy, of any ripper I've tried. Mp3 of course by definition isn't perfect because it compresses out some data in addition to whatever other flaws are found in the cd itself. RE: station playlist and usb microphone
If you're using a mixer, you'd want to use StationPlaylist Streamer to take a feed from the mixer, then all the audio including the mic will be processed. You'd want the mic plugged into the mixer. The music is but not the stereo mics. So, would I then need to put the usb mic on the pc? I've never used that but perhaps someone else on the list can comment. RE: station playlist and usb microphone
Ok, cool. Part of my question to you arose from the fact that I have the mixer being recorded by goldwave and in goldwave when you hit the record command control f9, the input source options come up giving you choices ranging from the name of the sound card being used to something called input. I usually choose input and that records the mixer and the mics but the compression doesn't work with the mics as it does with the station playlist tracks which are coming into that same mixer. dan -Original Message- From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Jonathan Mosen Sent: Thursday, November 25, 2010 5:52 PM To: 'PC Audio Discussion List' Subject: RE: station playlist and usb microphone If you're using a mixer, you'd want to use StationPlaylist Streamer to take a feed from the mixer, then all the audio including the mic will be processed.
