2012-01-23 Thread Joe Paton
Hey Tim,

I really don't have a problem editing audio. After all, that's what it is, so
I can happily select passages, fine tune the selection, mix, paste, copy and
other manipulating functions without problems.

Maybe if I used the scripts i'd find it easier, but it works just fine right
now.

It would be nice, but not essential to hear the record, play, pause, stop fast
forward et cetera spoken as they used to be, but it isn't impeeding me at all.
I haven't undertaken any batch processing with this latest release, so we'll
see how it goes when the time comes around.

Thanks,

Joe P

Here is what I did to get around this problem. It does take some trial
and error though so be warned!

1. Focus to the first radio button, which will be checked.
2. Right arrow until you hear another radio button, which will be
checked. Since they are radio buttons, only one can be checked.

3. Tab once and uncheck all three boxes as you tab to them.
4. Continue with the install.
This problem applies to Windows 7 as well, not just XP. you may like to
contact supp...@ramosoft.com and explain the situation. It might be an
installer problem so they may have nothing to do with the querks, but
it's worth a shot. They seem to care about the blind community so it is
definitely worth a shot.

Good luck.

Gold Wave: Changing amount of bass /treble boost in Gold Wave batch converter

2012-01-23 Thread Dujari, Prateek
Hello.

When I load a single mp3 file in Gold Wave, then go to effects- frequency-
equalizer and select any of the presets such as bass boost or reduce treble,
then I'm able to change the decibel change for each of the frequencies
presented there and change the original song according to my customized bass
boost or whatever.
However when I load a whole bunch of files in the batch converter mode and want
to say, boost the bass of all of them by the same increments, I do not get an
option in the batch converter window to customize the levels of change for each
of the frequencies. How do I do this ?

Here are the changes in this version:

Re: goldwave 5.66 is now available

2012-01-23 Thread JM Casey
Yeah, it's workable without scripts, but they really do make the experience
a lot nicer, at least as far as Jaws goes. It's not so much about having the
record, play etc buttons speak, but rather about just hitting single
keystrokes to get various bits of status information, locations of markers,
cursor, elapsed time, file name (when switching between windows), etc. Not
essential, but certainly welcome. Of course I've been led to believe that
Window Eyes works better in general without scripting than Jaws does

Hi Tim,

I'm currently using goldwave with window-eyes 7.5. Am I missing
something? I can edit my audio without amny problems. Granted having
some areas voiced could simplify matters, but it's workable.

GW Micro? You mean for Window Eyes? We had a discussion on here earlier

About Goldwave 5.66, does it still work with XP? I remember reading that
they were going to phase out support for XP sound drivers (olr something)
in

newer versions, at some point...

the

latest version. i downloaded the latest version but had to go back to 558

Re: Gold Wave: Changing amount of bass /treble boost in Gold Wave batch converter

2012-01-23 Thread Dave bahr
you can do it by going to the batch converter and look for the tab
called, process. you can then add effects and change them to your
liking. It's in a tree view which is accessible and then I think it
gives you the standard dialogues for changing the parameters. hth

Hello.

When I load a single mp3 file in Gold Wave, then go to effects- frequency-

able to change the decibel change for each of the frequencies presented there and
change the original song according to my customized bass boost or whatever.
However when I load a whole bunch of files in the batch converter mode and want
to say, boost the bass of all of them by the same increments, I do not get an
option in the batch converter window to customize the levels of change for each
of the frequencies. How do I do this ?

Re: Any one using SPL Studio with WE

2012-01-23 Thread Robert Byers

Hi Joe!

I have a series of problems with Window-Eyes and SPL Studio.
Ross from SPL solved the delay in playing, by suggesting I reduce the buffer
size.
When I press a key to check or play a track, WE won't talk, until I alt-tab
away and back again.
I turned off automatic loading of the apps, and that fixed that one, I
think.

But I can't close Studio, it just comes up with a message:
Index out of bounds (32768)
I uninstalled WE, and had my Son run Studio, with out speech installed. He
got the same result when closing down.
I have re-installed WE and it seams to be working, but have not done a lot
of testing yet.

I noticed when I loaded Studio this morning, a message came up as it loaded:
Loading in a protected mode
Thanks for any help, Joe, but that's about all I can think of to try.
I am using Windows 7 64 bit.

Rob.
