Re: total recorder questions
Tim, You could end the task in task manager. control-alt-delete should bring up the task manager, use the tab key to get to the applications tab, then find the application totalrec.exe or what ever it is called, then end task. Shouldn't need to do this, but it will unload total rec. Joe -- Joe Paton j...@vi-ability.demon.co.uk

Winamp and Lists
Morning all, Using Jaws 15, Win7 HP and Winamp 5.65. I have a folder with 10 .mp3 songs in it. Winamp is my default player for these files. How in the heck does a person get Winamp to play all the files from top to bottom or bottom to top?? I have tried selecting with Alt/A, ctr/shift/home, ctr/shift/end, but all I can get Winamp to play is either the top song, or the bottom one. Any thoughts appreciated for this bothersome problem. Thanks, Morey Worthington
RE: Winamp and Lists
assuming the files are in the same location press shift L winamp will prompt you to open folder find the folder and press enter on it. The folder will play. Alternately if your playlist editor window is open, press L the machine will prompt you to add files to playlist. Find the files select them and press enter. Now assuming you select all 10 they will play and be added to a playlist which can either be saved as an m3u or pls file. If you want to be able to call those songs then within the playlist editor CTRL S you will be prompted to save the playlist Call it what you want put it where you want put it on the desktop if you like. As long as the files it points to are in the same location they will be played whenever you activate the playlist file. Is that what you were after? Ray T. Hi Ray, You have solved my small issue. Just what I needed and the information was appreciated. Morey
need helping with humming on blue yeti pro.
hello I am a blind pc user, I own a blue yetti pro, I use it on the stand that it came with, and it is a very good mic. my problem is that I have a tower under my pc, with a five inch fan that is on top of the pc and it blows air up. when my mic is on I hear the fan of the tower, but that is not the problem. like I said because my tower is under my desk and the mic sits on top of the desk I hear a humming coming from my desk, I think it's the fan that is blowing under the desk. now when I take the mic off the desk the humming goes away, so I think that the humming is coming from air hitting bottom of desk. now I bought a shock mount, but the hummming is still there with the shock mount. and again once I lift the mic off the desk the humming goes away. is there anything I could do for this. some one suggested a boom arm, but if I get one will I have to take the mic off the stand to attach it to boom arm. any suggestions will be appreciated. thanks so much.
RE: need helping with humming on blue yeti pro.
What I have done to get rid of this humming is to place the mic stand on a thick pad of foam rubber. This works for me. This is a very sensitive mic! Hey Humberto, I'm still having lots of fun with SONGR. Thanks again for that one. I visited the WebbIE site to look for Podcatcher, and it looks like I might need the WebbIE full installation in order to use it. Do I understand this correctly? When I had a similar problem with the turntable rumbling back into the nearby speakers, I had to put a piece of foam on each of the four feet of the turntable. The foam was the same type that you find in a foam matress. The pieces were at least an inch thick and not solid foam, but spongy foam. Matthew

I wrote about the Plantronics Audio 478 headset a few days ago, someone on list commented on the Plantronics Audio 995 headset. I've since looked that up and found it available quite cheaply so I'll probably get one of those as well as the Audio 478 as I can use the Audio 995 in different situations given that its a wireless pari but I would however very much appreciate any feedback from anyone on list who has a pair of Audio 995, wireless headsets being what they are seem to vary a great deal, I've heard some truly excellent wireless headphones - my Senheiser I got over a year ago for $400 is a case in point - and I've heard some absolute shockers. re: need helping with humming on blue yeti pro.
You're getting some good tips on this and I found the link to Mic technique good. Whatever mic you are using you will get this problem if its sitting directly above the computer. I've moved my Rode mic over to another purch to the side of the desk, and though its not very convenient it cuts down the hum and vibration quite a bit. I speak pretty close to the mic without encouraging pops. Sometimes I use a bit of base roll-off in the audio editor. One more thing which can help is a mic shock mount, which should isolate the mic from stand-borne noise. Hope some of that helps. Ray.
re: Podcast Program
I've found QCast to be very good from the point of view of ease of use. Think you can find podcasts with it too. Ray.
