Re: Decibel from sbooth.org
Cool man! Going to check this out. I have VLC but there's something annoying about it. I have a randomized playlist because that's who I am smile. Unlike Winamp for the other platform I cannot search for a file and the results appear in a separate list. Sure you can search the playlist made but the table still shows the entire list. I'm not asking for help here; just going to see if this Decibel can do this for us. On 10/11/2014 12:11, Hamit Campos wrote: Man, the mac always gets cooler stuff. Re: Decibel from sbooth.org
Yes, in many ways it can, its an audiophile player, to put it simply the player - amongst other things - will play a CD in your drive as you’d hear it through a good quality CD player hooked up to your Hi-Fi system, its also designed to handle all the HD audio files out there. Don’t get me wrong, VLC is still a nifty player but just doesn’t have the audiophile features that decibel does though perhaps you could add those to VLC through plugins? It is an open source project after all. On 10 Nov 2014, at 11:11 pm, Hamit Campos hamitcam...@gmail.com wrote: Man, the mac always gets cooler stuff. This is a tentative inquiry regarding this voice recorder. I bought it around 2-2.5 years ago but apart from a day or two of investigation I have never used the machine. I took the battery from the player and stored it all away for 2 and a half years or more. My interest has once more been rekindled but after replacing the battery, putting it on charge over night for around 8 hours I'm a little confused. When attached to a mains outlet and I then turn on the player I get the start tone and I can using the voice guidance navigate through the folders. Of course as it hasn't been used there is nothing in the folders but the voice guidance does work. However if I disconnect the player from the mains and again turn it on, I once more get the start up tone but around 3 or 4 seconds later I get 3 quick beeps but the voice guidance doesn't work as when it is attached to the mains. I at first thought the battery isn't charging but if that were the case then it wouldn't start and I wouldn't get the start tone so the player must be getting power from the battery. Unfortunately I will have no sighted help until Friday to see what is on the screen but if anybody can tell me what the 3 quick beeps mean and if it is a problem what can I do about it. Hope you can help but if you do need more info, I'll try and get that on Friday. Walter. --- This email is free from viruses and malware because avast! Please reply offlist: Looking for some NVDA users willing to test upcoming version of StationPlaylist Studio add-on 4.0-dev
Hi, mostly broadcasters using NVDA, I'm looking for a number of users to test some of the upcoming features of NVDA add-on 4.0-dev. I'm looking for people who are: * Broadcasters using NVDA add-on for SPL Studio (add-on version 3.0 or later). * Users using Studio 5.10 (5.01 is fine too). * Users using braille displays. * Users using Studio's own encoder to encode their shows. If you believe you fall under one or more of these categories, or would like to volunteer to test late alpha level code, please reply to me privately at joseph.lee22...@gmail.com mailto:joseph.lee22...@gmail.com . Incentives will include a chance to test early beta version of the add-on and to talk to the creator of the add-on via Skype to provide early feedback for the next version of the add-on after 4.0. Thanks. Cheers, Joseph

Re: Decibel from sbooth.org
Ok all I like the app, but it's very slow at adding my tracks to a playlist. Mine is a large one, over 7,000 in total. VLC however adds them instantly and are available immediately. With Decibel I have to wait at least two minutes otherwise I will be told that the app is busy. This may be no big deal for some but is for others like me. So for now I'll just use the trial till it runs out then go back to VLC. Options are good though smile. My TapinRadio Problem Solved
Hi all, Just an update to let people know that I solved the problem I was having with TapinRadio crashing. The solution for me was to uninstall and then reinstall my anti-virus program which is ESET Smart Security version 8. Since doing this I can update TapinRadio presets and listen to stations without any problems. It will be interesting to see if I can update the next lot of new presets. If I can't at least next time I'll know where to start to find a solution. I hope this helps others who are having similar problems with TapinRadio. Regards Steve.

Hi Chuck, Thanks for your message. I neglected to mention that first of all I tried disabling my firewall and anti-virus software to see if TapinRadio would let me hear stations and that didn't work.
