Re: Question About GoldWave 6
That’s all fine in theory yes but what about the extra features and bug fixes in the latest updates? That’s the whole point of updating software - not just to add feature requests or new concepts - but also to fix bugs, performance issues and so on. > On 20 Apr 2016, at 8:37 AM, Joe Patonwrote: > > Kelly, > > If the version you are running is doing that you want, then, stay with it. > Download the update by all means, then you have it if you perhapse need to > re-install. > > Save your settings as well, then you are as close to fireproof as you can be > in > the sun. > > Cheers, > > Joe > > > On Tue, 19 Apr 2016 16:32:30 -0600 > Kelly Sapergia wrote: > > Hi, > > I've been using GoldWave 5.70 since last year, and really like it. Re: Question About GoldWave 6
If I recall I think the original email message talked about problems read about on Twitter so therefore no specifics. I’ve not found anything a miss thankfully. > On 21 Apr 2016, at 4:07 AM, Brett Boyerwrote: > > I am a huge goldwave supporter. > I haven't noticed any of these accessibility issues. > Do you have any specifics? > bb > > > -Original Message- > From: Pc-audio [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Kelly > Sapergia > Sent: Wednesday, April 20, 2016 9:47 AM > To: pc-audio@pc-audio.org > Subject: Re: Question About GoldWave 6 > > Hi Tim, > > Not entirely, but almost. RE: Question About GoldWave 6
I am a huge goldwave supporter. I haven't noticed any of these accessibility issues. Do you have any specifics? bb -Original Message- From: Pc-audio [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Kelly Sapergia Sent: Wednesday, April 20, 2016 9:47 AM To: pc-audio@pc-audio.org Subject: Re: Question About GoldWave 6 Hi Tim, Not entirely, but almost. I still use Sound Forge for most of my editing, but have been getting more proficient at editing in GoldWave the more I use it. When I got my current system (running Windows 7 64-bit), I paid for the upgrade to Sound Forge Pro 11. Almost immediately, I regretted my decision as the program was, for whatever reason, acting sluggishly, it would freeze the system for up to two minutes at random times while I was trying to get work done, and the selection commands were unpredictable. Sometimes they'd work great, but other times material that I hadn't even selected was being affected. Plus, I hated the fade in and out features in the Mixer dialog, as I was used to the way things worked with Sound Forge 6, and didn't need my voice to fade in as music faded out a bit. It finally got to the point where I ended up going back to Sound Forge 6.0E. Compared to Pro 11, it works beautifully, but I sometimes notice some pops and clicks in my recordings at times, though I'm not sure if it's sound card related or not. I also had a heck of a time getting the program registered on this system as it's an out of date version. I had begun playing with GoldWave around this time, and noticed that the recording issue I had with SF wasn't occuring with it. I'll admit, it took awhile to figure out how to edit material, but the more I played with the program, the more I liked, especially things like the Trim command. I also liked the fact that the registration process was much simpler than it is with Sound Forge. Needless to say, when my evaluation period ran out after awhile, I didn't hesitate to buy the lifetime license. Thanks. Re: Question About GoldWave 6
Hi there! I'm using the latest 6 version with NVDA and I've noticed nothing unusual about accessibility. If anything unusual is happening regarding accessibility then a quick note to the author should solve the problem, I know that the developer has been extremely responsive with a few accessibility problems I experienced around 7 years ago I think it was now when I first purchased the product. As to what you should do? Well it really is a pity that a lot of users don't have something like Rollback installed on their computer, the basic version is free. What will Rollback do? It will give you the easy ability to revert your computer to the state it was in before you installed new software. For example, you set a snapshot and then install the new version of Goldwave. If the new version isn't what you expect then you can revert back to the Snapshot you took and there you are! system is back as was and no harm done. Now the above is just a very simple explanation of Rollback I know but the explanation should suffice for the current discussion. Re: Question About GoldWave 6
Hi Tim, Not entirely, but almost. Thanks.
