Re: Working Winamp controls from anywhere?

2014-09-23 Thread Jacob
I have WinAmp running in the background always to hear radio or files from the
disk. I configured WinAmp not to show up in the Alt+Tab order. So I use a
shortcut if I want to access the WinAmp window. But I also set global hotkeys
so that I can change volume, tracks and move forth and back in tracks with out
bringing up the WinAmp window. Go to preferences CTRL+P and find global
hotkeys. Here you can enable and change the hotkeys. Maybe it's a bit dificult
because after define a hotkey you have to hit set. To hit set you have to
activate JAWS cursor, find set and activate it by the mouse keys on the
keyboard. You can't use Tab to find set because the the hotkey will change to
use the Tab key. When it's done you can control it from any where in Windows.
For example if I'm using Internet Explorer and want to control WinAmp with out
leaving IE then I hit CTRL!Shift+F9 to turn down or CTRL+Shift+F10 to turn up
volume, CTRL+Shift+F1 to start playback TRL+Shift+F2 to stop playing etc.

so is there a way I could quickly get to the Winamp window, or maybe have
Winamp's controls be able to work globally from anywhere in Windows, thus
avoiding the hassel of having to hear Jaws plus the music while Alt+tabbing to
go to Winamp itself?

In the preferences (CTRL+P) and the file types tab there is a field called
enqueue files on double click. If this field is checked then uncheck and hit

This is probably a simple step I'm missing.

When I open a file, the program opens but the file does not. The last file
I'd played is apparently highlighted cause if I use the play command that's
  what I get.

Something I checked or didn't in preferences?

Must have had the problem before having had my stroke last year cause
recently Creative media was my preference and can't imagine doing that.
Trying to relearn all this stuff is hard. Lol. I'm also typing with one
hand nowadays as feeling has been blunted.

I have a premium account on Digitally imported which also include Sky.fm
channels. When I log on to my account I can go to favorites and download a
playlist for all the channels. Then I just load my .M3u playlist and i can
switch between channels by using B and Z keys like when I'm playing multiple
files in a folder. Don't know if the same feature is avaible if you log on via
skyp.fm. On Digitally Imported it is also posible to choose which channel s you
want to have on the playlist.

Hi Dave!

If you don't a way in the Winamp menus try to make a search for Winamp.bm
and Winamp.bm8. Make a copy and place them in the same folder on the other
computer. On my PC I found the files in C:\users\My

I have a GN NetCom and it works very well. There is good audio and its
posible to stay more than 100 meters away from the computer. The battery
have capacity for more than 2 days. I have heard many people use a wireless

The GN NetCom is more expensive. I was lucky to find a second hand.

AnyDVD is not a copy program but a kind of driver. You can use your favorite

There is a realaudio plugin called Tara on Winamp's plugin site. When you
install the plugin WinAmp will play realaudio but you still need to have
realone, realplayer or real alternative installed. I have never tiried
realaudio from Internet via WinAmp but it works with files on my harddisk
and if you have one of the realaudio players installede they have Intrernet
support and then I also think its posible to get WinAmp paly realaudio
online. If you can't find the programs and plugin I will send it to you via

Hi!
Try to run the AnyDVD drvier from
http://www.slysoft.com
When this driver is loaded all trafic between CD/DVD drives and software
pass thru this driver and copyprotection from both CD's and DVD's should be
removed. It will also make a DVD region code free. Maybe the driver will
give you access to your CD. AnyDVD works with all CD/DVD software.

If you need a complete backup you need a double layer burner. If you
jst want a copy wich containts sound and text in your language you
can use DVD Shrink. This program removes copy protection,
regioncodes and all unwanted language and text track. It means that
a 9 GB disc to a 4.7 GB disc. I use this program and it works very
fine here. I double layer burner but here in Denmark doublelayer
disc is very expensive.

Re: Backing up a DVD

2005-01-24 Thread Jacob
If you need a complete backup you need a double layer burner. If you jst
want a copy wich containts sound and text in your language you can use DVD
Shrink. This program removes copy protection, regioncodes and all unwanted
language and text track. It means that a 9 GB disc to a 4.7 GB disc. I use
this program and it works very fine here. I double layer burner but here in
Denmark doublelayer disc is very expensive.

Can anyone tell me how to back up a DVD that is 7.6 GB when I only
have 4.7 GB blank discs? Do I need to get a double layered burner or
do they make larger capacity DVD's? I am using a DVD ROM and a DVD-RW
in the same PC to copy discs with Roxio 6.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Skype

2004-10-28 Thread Jacob
You wil be asked to keep your contact list and preferences when uninstall
skype. When installing the new version you will have the same preferences
set and you will have your contact list. If you are running windows xp then
take a copy of the directory drive\documents and setting\your
username\application data\skype. Then you will have a baackup for your
contact list. You can only copy if skype is unloaded. If ever need to
reinstall your system you just need to copy the skype directory back to the
position from wich you make the copy. Skype can also be installed on top of
older versions. This way also keeps your contacts and settings.

Hey Folks,
I have a previous version of Skype. It was the version that came out
last week. 1.0.0.94. Of course, version 97 is now out.
I want to know if anyone knows if doing a clean install of new
versions of Skype is necessary or if Skype users generally install
their new versions directly over the top of the old ones?
I am not a fan of the latter method, however, I see no way to save my
contact lists. If anyone can tell me how to do a fresh install of
Skype, and at the same time, save my contact list, I would truly be
appreciative...
