Re: Weighing Up accessability

2007-07-21 Thread John Price
High David,
I have and use the same phone that you had.
I am long over do for an up grade, but I am very skeptical about which phone
to get.
I am with the same carrier that you're with, but they tell me that they
don't know of a phone that does the same things that this one does.
So I'm watching the market just to see what they will come up with for the
blind.
My best regards to you all!

Well, I have had a LG4650 for the past two years, and while it didn't
speak all the menus it was usableas a basic cell phone, and did let you
know who was calling, and control more features of the phone than a phone
 with no speech output.

I upgraded to a LG9900 a few days ago, and my wife and I attempted to get
that phone setup last night so that aI could use its' wonderful features.
Sorry to say, the voice command in this new phone seems to be worse than
in the 4650, and there is no speech output in the very places where one
needs speech output the most. To make matters worse the manual for this
phone seems to be of not much help when attempting to get the phone setup
 for speech output.

Long story short, I am going to take it back to Verizon tomorrow and get a
30 day trial on the Moterola Q so I can try it out with MobileSpeak
 Smartphone.

LG has voice on at least 6 of their phones, but one almost wonders why
when the fact is that the items that speak do little to help one get the
phone realy setup, and the items that do not speak are the items one
really need in order to do things like enter names in the contact list.

High Larry,
Any cd or DVD drive you get comes with software.
Most of them that I know about comes with Nero, but some may come with

They will set you back some where between $50 to $70.
But it all depends on the brand and mottle.

Subject: buying a new cd drive, some questions

 Hi listers,

It looks like my Lite-On drive of a bit over three years is on the
fritz. I have tried running a cd cleaner from memorex through the
thing a number of times, but no major improvement if any when it
comes to the consistent reading of cds, so I'm going to buy another
drive. Since the trend has gone to dvd drives, I am a bit concerned
as to what I should be on the look out for as it concerns working
with my version of Nero 6. I don't want to get home with a drive,
only to find out that it will not be compatible with my burning
software. And, I really like Nero, but don't really want to have to
invest another 80 bucks or so for an upgrade. After all, that price
may be twice that of the driver unit. Anyway, if anybody can shed any
helpful light on my above stated concerns, I will be eternally grateful.

Now, I doubt that I will be watching any movies with this new drive.
I'm only planning to maybe back up files to a dvd disc on occasion,
but there's always that eventuality. Is there a drive that will work
well with both standards, and how much should such a drive set me back?

Oh well, guess that's it. If anybody can come up with any possible
concerns that I should be aware of in making such a switch, please let me
 know.

 Thanks,

 Larry

Problem Roling Back To WMP10

Hello List Members,
I am having a real big problem rolling back to Windows Media Player 10.
Microsoft some how snuck Windows Media Player 11 in on me, but I do not wish to

The last time I did, I found Windows Media Player 11 a pain to use to burn
audio cds.
Windows Media Player 10 is a hole lot easier to use then Windows Media Player
11 for this perpice.
For some unknown reason, it won't let me uninstall it.
And when I try to reinstall Windows Media Player 10, I get a message that says,
this media player is not compatible with this virgin of windows.
I don't understand that, I am running Windows XP Service Pack 2 Home Addition.
Could anyone give me some pointers on how to fix this problem?

Re: A question about Nero 7.9

2007-06-23 Thread John Price
Hello Brian,
Instead of letting your computer install Nero, choose to explore it.
In this way, you can pick and choose what parts of the software you really
need.
I just got a new cd drive for one of my computers, it came with Nero 7.5.
I can do some things with Nero that I couldn't with Windows Media Player 10
and 11.
For an example, I can record directly from my vintage stereo receiver.
I could not do that with Windows Media Player.
But anyhow, try exploring Nero first before you install it.

How is it with Nero 7? I have a so called Nero 7 Premium with lots and

Is it in any way possible not to install all these media applications, but
 only the raw Nero application?

Is there a good frre tutorial about how to setup and use Nero 7 the best

I hope some one can confirm some of these wishes, and guide me in the

I had previously posted about a reading problem with my cd burner,

I am wondering how Nero goes about verifying the files if the disc
can't be read? I guess I'm revealing my obvious lack of the mechanics
of burner tech here, but I'm wondering if burners such as mine (the
Lit-on LTR-352327S) are equipped with one or two lens. Does it read
and write with the same one, or separate lens. If not, why could the
same lens write, but not read? Since this burner came with my
computer, I think it only cost about $50 or something in that range,
and that might give some sort of clew as to its features, or lack there
 of.

Re: CD drive will burn, but reads inconsistently

2007-06-06 Thread John Price
High Larry and Tom,
I ran in to this kind of a problem to many times before.
Before I got in to computers, I was and still am heavyly in to audio.
This is the one thing that both audio cd players and cd drives for computers
and even dvd players have in comend with each other.
Over a periet of time, real fine dust particals will deposit themselves on
the lazer lense.
When that happens, that's when these machines have a problem playing back
any cd or dvd you put in them.
Their are lazer linse cleaning kits that you can use to get the dust deposit
off of the linse.
After cleaning the linse, these dvd players cd players and even computer
cd/dvd drives are like new again.
Try cleaning the lazer linse with one of these linse cleaning kits and see
if that solves the problem.
If it dosen't, then that's the time to replace the cd/dvd drive.
My best regards to you all.

 Hey Tom,

Thanks for those suggestions. I did find that after putting a disc

For some reason, my cd drive/burner seems to have trouble
reading discs within Windows Explorer. No matter how many
times I try reinserting discs, I receive the dialog box
telling me that I need to place a disc in the drive, or
something to that affect. This makes it hard to understand
how Nero has no trouble burning cds at all. It seems to me
that burning should be next to impossible if previously
burned discs can't be read in the first place.

Re: CD drive will burn, but reads inconsistently

2007-06-06 Thread John Price
Hello TrueBlue and Proud,
I once had a fisher highfigh double cd player/burner that gave me that
problem eather way.
A few times, I couldn't burn cds on it because it had a derty lazer linse.
But when I popped one of those linse cleaning kits in to it, it allowed me
to not only play cds, I was also able to go back to coppying one cd to
another cd wich is the real reason why I bot that machine in the first
place.
But try cleaning the lazer linse and see if your dvd drive will do what it's
suppose to do.
My best regards to you all.

 High Larry and Tom,
I ran in to this kind of a problem to many times before.
Before I got in to computers, I was and still am heavyly in to audio.
This is the one thing that both audio cd players and cd drives for
 computers
and even dvd players have in comend with each other.
Over a periet of time, real fine dust particals will deposit themselves
 on
 the lazer lense.
When that happens, that's when these machines have a problem playing back
any cd or dvd you put in them.
Their are lazer linse cleaning kits that you can use to get the dust
 deposit
 off of the linse.
After cleaning the linse, these dvd players cd players and even computer
cd/dvd drives are like new again.
Try cleaning the lazer linse with one of these linse cleaning kits and
 see
 if that solves the problem.
If it dosen't, then that's the time to replace the cd/dvd drive.
My best regards to you all.

 Hey Tom,

Thanks for those suggestions. I did find that after putting a disc
into the burner for reading, that when afterward placing the same
disc in my Victor Reader Classic, that the medium was rejected. I've
thought about the possibility that the drive might be defective in
such a way as to make the laser capable of doing some kind of damage

Re: Review of Plantronics Audio 550 DSP Headset

Hello Steeve,
What if you're just starting out with pcs but you don't yet have internet,

I came across the following review recently. I
mainly use this USB headset with Skype and find it works very well. -Steve.

Introduction:

Everyone has heard the phrase, Get your head in
the game. What's a better way to
get into the game than by absorbing the sound and
blocking outside noises? Can a
Plantronics .Audio 550 DSP headset put your head
into the game so that you can play
the game how it's supposed to be played? Let's
get these things on and find out!

Plantronics has been manufacturing lightweight
communications headsets since 1962.
Recently, the company has offered mobile headsets
and next-generation computer audio
headsets. Plantronics continues to pursue being a
trend-setter in its respective
markets.

Closer Look:

The package sets a good tone for the enclosed
product because it looks simple, professional,
and it displays the product. I like to see what
I'm getting into when I purchase
a product, so it was good to be able to see the
headset up close and personal before
I opened the package. The back of the package
lists the specifications and features
of the product with a picture of the headset all
laid out. I was also intrigued by
the message at the top of the back side of the
packaging. It boasts about how a set
of Plantronics headsets were used to communicate
from the first moon landing crew
to NASA in 1969.

Enough babbling, let's get this thing out of the
plastic! Now while it's not impossible,
it is fairly difficult to open the plastic. I had
to pry it open with quite a bit
of force and I almost thought about getting a
pair of scissors. Once it was out,
I could already tell that the cable was going to
be very long, which is a huge plus.

I'm not going to lie, I have a big head, so I had
to make sure the headset could
accommodate me, as well as other users who have
big heads. Below you can see a picture
of one side of the headset pulled down the
farthest it can go, along with the other
side pushed up as far as it can go.

The top of the headset is a very comfortable pad
which can, to an extent, move horizontally,
though it does not move vertically.

The ear cups have the same padding as the top of
the headset but slightly thicker.
The speakers themselves are 40mm large. I like
the red color of the speakers because
it goes well with black and it's discreet.

Closer Look:

The microphone is very unique on this headset.
For starters, it has a very nice level
of resistance when you pull it down. I like that
because it gives you a sense of
sturdiness; it's not going to move when you move
your head or the headset. The mobility
of the microphone isn't as good as I would like
it to be. The image on the left shows
the microphone in its up position, and the
picture on the right shows how far the
microphone can be pulled down. Something that
disappoints me is that the microphone
can't be rotated 360 degrees because I know some
people who like to have the microphone
on the right side of their headset.

Let's examine the cable now. The cable is three
meters long, so it should suffice
for most people. There is a volume control about
a foot down from the headset which
is very cool. It has 3 buttons: volume up, volume
down, and mute. The mute button
is very useful because it mutes only your
microphone, so you can still hear others.
When you have mute on, the outer ring of the button glows red.

Down the wire you'll find an orange band that has
7 different languages telling you
to go to www.plantronics.com/downloads and get
the PerSono software. I think this
is kind of weak because what if you don't have internet access?

Before I forget, the cable is connected via USB.
Near the bottom of the cable is
a little casing surrounding the cable which
displays the Plantronics logo and the
technology that the headset uses (DSP - Digital Sound Processing).

Installation:

To install your headset, just plug it into a free
USB port. The only down side to
installing it is that the headset disables your
speakers immediately. Now, go to
the download page on Plantronics' website and
download the PerSono software and install
it.

Configuration:

The software which you use for the headset is
called PerSono. It is a small program
that goes hand-in-hand with the Windows audio
controls. There are two different tabs
- headphone and microphone. Under the headphone
tab, you can change the balance,
bass, and treble of your headphones, as well as
which style you'd like to have on.
The different

It is interesting that a couple of list owners have chimed in, on this
subject. Also, what about people's extensive footers, where they
 advertise
the hell out of whatever it is that they are trying to promote? I think
this is one of those things where it depends on one's level of expertise,
 on
the computer, as to how one handles E mail, coming and going! Should we
 ask
the other list owners to delete their tags, before making a decision, on
what to do with this list, which, I may also add, has gone through a
 couple
of owners, in the last couple of years?

Until we all learn how to filter messages, it is a moot point and those
 with
that expertise ought to help others, without it, to get to that point, not
just complain about the verbiage! I think the extensive footer verbiage
 is
more of a problem, as it seems like bill board clutter, which only some
 of
us can even say that they have ever seen, say, walking down a street!
Adrian Spratt has the right idea, which I, for one, will embrace. This is
not one of those lists, to my way of thinking, where one can definitely
 say
that one's level of expertise has to be such that a problem of this kind
cannot be overcome, even though it takes a number of messages to get to a
point, where the problem gets solved! Just look at the number of posts,
 on
the subject, if you want to talk about verbiage! Put it to a vote, Tom!

 Mac Norins

 Hi John.

It's just that I've had the same issue with certain CD's. Never been able
to quite work it out but certain CD's seem able to uncheck the checkbox
 for
a small number specific tracks on the album. Came across it most recently
with the latest Funeral For A Friend album.

I'd suggest that you either disable the automated rip or stop it
immediately. Then, tab around 12 times down to the list of tracks. Arrow
down each of the tracks and press spacebar to check any that are currently
unchecked. I do this exclusively now to save having to go back to
 gettracks
that the auto rip didn't pick up.

 Regards.

Re: portable stereo system that I can plug in to my computer?

2007-05-28 Thread John Price
High Randy,
There is a turntable that you can plug in to your computer.
There are a coppal that I know about.
One of them is a Newmark which connects to your computer via a USB
connection.
I don't have the direct address for the manufacturer,
but I got mine from:
http://www.americanmusical.com
Someone told me that SONY has them too as well.
You can look it up at:
http://www.sony.com
The first one that I manchened above comes with Ordassity software, it also
has an 1.8 ench jack which lets you plug a casset player in to it to put
your casset tapes on cd too as well.
Check it out and see if this unit will serve your needs.

High Randy,
Yes you can, you don't even have to have it hooked up to your computer to
listen to it if you don't want to listen to it that way.
It also comes with RCA connecters so you can hook it up to any stereo sistem
that has auxilorly inputs.
Right now, I have mine hooked up to both my computer and my vintage
reciever, it sounds grate!

Re: Eliminating audio tape squeal

2007-05-27 Thread John Price
Hello everyone,
I think I know what's cossing that problem.
Air can get in to tite places.
air always lieves dust and when it gets on magneted tape, it makes that
squilling sound when you try to play it.
Removing dust from one of these is a time consuming process.
This may sound crazy, but it works.
In the open end of the casset, run some water over the tape, but let it set
and dry for up to 5 days.
Rewind and fastforword just to make sure the tape moves threw the machine
without any problem.
After that, then try and play the tape.
If it runs smoothley and you don't hear the squilling sound any mor, then
you have done this successfully.
I hope that this tip has been of some help to you, good luck.

Try another cassette in the machine and see what happens.
If it still makes a squeeking noise, chances are that it is probably the

Re: Eliminating audio tape squeal

2007-05-27 Thread John Price
Hello again everyone,
There are head cleaning kits that you can get from a full line electronic
store such as RadioShack.
There ar two kinds of head cleaning kits.
There is the dry kind, but I found that that kind doesn't work to well.
There is also the wet kind which uses an alcohol baced solution.
This does wonders for any tape recorder.
But however, cleaning the heads won't get red of the squilling sound that
you hear on some old dusty tapes.
When dust gets on the tape, it cosses that problem.

 Hi Tom,

Actually, I don't know why I didn't think of cleaning the head, etc,
my brain must be in stand-by this weekend. Would you please remind
me what is a safe solution to clean with? And the squeal does come
through the speaker and headphones. Other tapes play just fine. I
should probably state this is not a huge deal; it regards tape 1 of
an NLS audio book I got late last week so I could read it over the
long weekend. So, if my efforts don't resolve the problem, I'll just
send it back and re-order hopefully a better copy.

Thanks to all who gave me suggestions,
 Norma

High garry,
I don't know about Nero 7, but I know that Windows Media Player-10 will, If
you set your cdr/rw drive to it's highest setting, it will burn a cd for you
in less then 2 minits.
One thing you may want to watch out for is this.
When your cdr/rw drive is at it's highest setting, somtimes it makes
mistakes.
Try this and see if it works for you.

 Audio Menus for iPods

 By Kate Greene

Download an MP3 version of this story
 http://www.audiodizer.com/technologyreview/infotech/download.aspx?id=18

703 Researchers are testing ways to let people listen to gadget menu
 options
 instead of looking at them.

Clicking through the menu on your iPod demands a significant
 amount of
visual attention, which can be a hassle (while jogging) and even
 dangerous
(while driving). But engineers at the University of Toronto and
 Microsoft
Research are working on software that could make it possible to
 navigate
the menus of gadgets that use circular touch pads, like the iPod,
 without
looking at them--only audio cues would be used.

The researchers have designed an auditory menu technique--called
earPod--that provides audio feedback when a person drags his or
 her finger
around the touch pad. Although it's not ready to replace the
 expansive
menus on real iPods, the results are encouraging, says Patrick
 Baudisch, a
research scientist at Microsoft Research, in Seattle, who worked
 on the
 project.

 LINK:
 http://www.patrickbaudisch.com/

Within 30 minutes of beginning to use the technology, people can
 navigate
two levels of earPod menus faster than traditional visual menus,
 and just
 as accurately.

Requiring constant visual attention while using a PC is
 reasonable,
 says
Baudisch, but if you're using an iPod on the road, [constant
 visual
attention] is unreasonable. In addition to giving people back
 their eyes,
he says, audio menus could help gadgets save battery life by not
 wasting
energy on a screen, and they could add functions to the
 screen-free
devices such as the iPod shuffle.

The idea of using audio menus isn't new. Auditory interfaces can,
 after
all, be found in touch-tone phone menus and in various assisted
technologies for seeing-impaired users. But historically, handheld

consumer gadgets haven't widely used audio menus. There are a few
 reasons
for this, says Bruce Walker, professor in the school of psychology
 and
college of computing at Georgia Institute of Technology.

 LINK:
 http://sonify.psych.gatech.edu/~walkerb/

One reason, he says, is that audio hardware and software have
 been
resource intensive, requiring significant amounts of computation
 and
energy. In addition, audio software has been difficult to
 program.

But computing power is becoming cheaper, and there is an
 increasing
 need
to find different ways to interact with handheld devices, says
 Walker.
Within the past 10 years, he says, the ubiquity of mobile devices
 with
small displays has made us all visually impaired. Currently
 there are
only a handful of researchers who are systematically looking at
 ways to
make better audio interfaces for various devices, but Walker
 expects the
ranks to grow in the coming years.

This first earPod prototype has a two-level menu hierarchy with 8
 items
per category, for a total of 64 items. To test how well people use
 the
system, the researchers assigned to the first menu level a random

assortment of categories: clothing, fish, instrument,
 color, and
four others. The next level contained eight examples of these
 items. The
iPod analogy would be found in the opening menu, which includes
 music,
extras, settings, and then lower menus that include
 playlists,
artists, and albums, for instance. The earPod approach could
 be
extended to read off a limited number of names of artists and
 songs as
 well.

EarPod was designed specifically for gadgets with circular touch
 pads,
says Baudisch. The circular touch pad is evenly divided into eight

sectors: it's cut like pieces of a pie, with each menu item
 associated
with each piece. When a person touches the dial of an
 earPod-equipped
gadget, the audio menu responds with a prerecorded human voice. If
 a
person puts his or her finger at 12 o'clock on the touch pad, the
 voice
might say Color, indicating that the finger is on the color
 sector. When
the finger crosses one of these invisible sector lines, the user
 hears a
clicking sound. As a finger moves, a new menu item is announced.
 To select
an item and go to the next menu level, the user lifts his or her
 finger
and hears a camera-shutter sound, which indicates that an item
 has been
 chosen.

and a pare of Jensen P8Q speakers up to it.
That's how I lurned that your sound card is as good as the speaker sistem
you are driving with it.
Try a better pare of speakers and see if that works for you.
Happy music making on your pc.

Subject: sound card fore home studio

Hi. I'm a guitarist and I would like to get software fore multi tracking.
Nothing to elaborate, just something I can play with at home. My PC. has a
gig of ram and about two gig processor speed with windows XP. home and
jaws 7. I use a SoundBlaster audigy card. I have a Macki 1202vlz mixer. Is
my audigy card of high enough quality to do this? or do I need a better
one. If so, what card would any musicians and vocalists recommend. Looking
forward to any answers on this.
 Thanks, Joe.

Re: Juice won't Open

Hello,
I wonder how are you trying to start up Juice?
I myself, I start it up from my start menue.
I hit the letter j until I hear Jaws say, Juice, J I hit the letter J

The problem may be the way you have Juice sat up, I say that because Juice

They couldn't anser me on that one.

This is a pretty nasty problem with both Macro and Adobe Flash players.
 I
use JAWS 8, and still can't get it to work. You might try calling
 Freedom
Scientific if you use Jaws. If you use another screen reader, try
 calling
their tech support. I know that part of the problem is that the player
controls are imbedded in the web page, so screen readers can't access
 the
controls. Someone recommended changing some active.exe files, but that
required writing a lot of computer scripts and lines into text files,
 and
 I
didn't feel I was knowledgeable enough to do that, and there was no
 guarantee it would work anyway.

Dear Tom,
I think you misunderstand me here.
I happen to know that Jaws and Window Eyes are 2 diffrend types of software
that helps those of us who can't see how to read our computer screens.
Now I'm not trying to get in to a fight here, first you should know those of
us who don't have eyes that can see, our hand and ears are our eyes.
Jaws and Window Eyes are autible software, they make the computer screens
talk.
Don't take my word for it, ask another blind person about these 2 diffrent
kinds of software, see what they say.
Cence you happen to know about these other diskussion groops for blind
computer users, how about giving me the links to them.
I think you have a distorted view about my addatood, I know what this groop
is about.
And persize, I don't see you going after any one about things like tv tuner
cards, whitch is somthing I'm also thinking about.
I don't believe I've said anything rong.
I have a very strong faith in the Lord God hoom I serve.
If I said or done anything rong, he would correct me in a hartbeat.

If any of us happen to be in the rong place seaking help witha persific
problem and if you know whare we can go to get that help, then by all means,

 John,

No, the pc audio list is not about helping blind computer
users. It's for anyone who wants to discuss using audio on a
computer and only audio on a computer, and that's why it is
 called pc-audio.

Would you go into a grocery store and demand they sell you a
computer just because you are a blind person and you just
 happen to be there?

When you subscribed to the pc audio list you received a
welcome message with all the guidelines for the list. You
were asked to remove yourself from the list if you didn't
 agree with the guidelines.

There are several other lists where general computer
 questions can be discussed.

Frankly, I think you have a very poor attitude as to what you
should and should not expect because you are blind. It's a
sighted world we live in and if the sighted adapt to us
that's great but most of the time it's going to have to be
 the other way around.

2007-05-03 Thread John Price
Hello John,
It has been over 20 years cence i've used a Mack computer.
Back then, they were called Apple-2 computers.
They had these cards that plugged in to a slot on the mother board.
These cards were called eccoe speach centhisisers.
They would read the text on the screen to you, but if the text happen to be
in a box, it was a pane to get it to read it to you.
Maby I'm using the rong mejuring stick to mejur a pc against a Mack or vice
versa, I thot that you had to have some kind of software to make a Mack read
the text that shows up on it's screen.
Think you for clearing that up for me.

2007-05-02 Thread John Price
High John.
I am wondering the same thing too.
Because of the fact that the days of tech support for Windows XP are
numbered, I am thinking about getting a mack system.
I think Vista has to many flaws and to many draw backs.
One of them being infrengement upon your privacy.
I've looked for text to voice software for Macks, but I haven't found any
out there yet.
I may have to write that program myself.
If I am rong about this, everyone out there, please let me know.

Re: need info for computer speakers/ or speaker set up for computer

2007-04-25 Thread John Price
Hello Sunshine,
The speaker/amplifier system I have for my computer, is a system I bilt from
the ground up myself.
My speaker boxes are made of salet oke wood.
My inturnal speaker components are 2 8 inch full range drivers that I
ordered from:
http://www.tubesandmore.com
I have 2 15watt stereo tube amplifiers that I bilt from kits whitch I
ordered from:
http://www.s5electronics.com
the 2 stereo amplifiers are running in mono bridge mode to give me 30 watts
to each speaker.
If I can remember correctly, I payed $165.95 each for boath complete kits.
And for the speakers, I payed $75.95 each+shipping.
I use my computer to downlode alot of music, and I have tryed lots of
computer speaker systems, none of them gave me the kind of soun I was
looking for.
So I made my ohn, I am very happy with it.
If you know what you are doing, these tube amplifiers are easy to billd.
But ladies and gental men out their, please be very careful, they requier
120 volts to operate them, but 200 to 250 volts are on the cirket boards of
each one of these.
The models for the amplifiers are the 12-G, the speakers are the Jensen
P-8-Q.
If you don't want to go the rout that I went, Sound Blaster has some pretty
good speaker systems.
You can check them out at:
http://www.soundblaster.com
also SONY has some pretty good speaker systems too.
Check them out at:
http://www.sony.com
good luck on finding the speaker system that sutes your needs.

It will work with that to as well.
An mp3 file is an mp3 file, rather it's in the form of an audio book or

It is still a groop of mp3 files so it will still work.

Re: Burning CDs With Windows Media Player

2007-04-08 Thread John Price
Hello Tom,
I've used Windows Media Player 11 to burn cds.
I didn't have that kind of problen, but I did run in to this kind of a
problem.
I ripped a cd that I wanted to make myself a coppy of.
I found that you had to play them all to get them all on to the cd.
Because if you didn't, WMP11 would only burn one of those songs on to the
cd, and lieve the other 12 or 13 or so out.
That is why I myself switch back to Windows Media Player 10.
So everybidy out their, watch out for that, because that can be a reall
pane.

 trouble posting to pc audio.

 Tom

 Hi folks,

Recently a friend of mine updated their windows media player
from 10 to 11 and have been having a strange problem with
burning CD's ever since. Here's what happens.

After putting their compilation together and starting the
burn process, two thirds of the way through the procedure an
error dialog comes up that says that windows media player is
unable to burn the CD and to use a slower writing speed or to
purchase a different brand of disk. The writing speed is set
at 16X which should more than suffice or an accurate burn
these days. And no matter what brand of CD they try this
error happens. Personally, I've had this error myself when I
first tested media player 11 and have since reset mine back
to 10 and the error never happened again. Anyone else
have this trouble and is there a permanent fix that you can
 recommend for it?

Subject: CPU usage of Sound Forge vs Goldwave

 Hi dudes.

I currently am trying to use Sound Forge for recording music, but I'm
getting a lot of skips in the sound. I was wondering if Goldwave is less
 CPU intensive for recording music.

Thanks in advance for the info.
