Re: recording device for telephone calls

2009-02-18 Thread Rob DeZonia
Ok I joined this list after this thread began, but what about using Skype to
call your messages or whatever, and record directly to the computer using
one of the programs to record skype phone calls? Total Recorder comes to
mind and that's only 17 bucks if you buy it. If you Google record skype
calls you can find a few free apps as well.

Intro and Help needed urgently, or at least fast

2009-02-16 Thread Rob DeZonia
Hi everyone,
I'm Rob. Ok enough with the intro. lol
I want to record a demo showing off a piece of software. I am running
Windows Vista which is probably the cause of my grief. I am using a Logitek
USB headset mic. What I would like to do is not only record my voice, but the
speach synthesizer and the sounds of the software I am demoing. Using the
Headset Mic, I can only get voice to record, none of the otherh sounds I need.
I have a number of sound recording programs at my disposal including Sony
Soundforge Sound Studio 9.0, audacity, goldwave. I can get none of these to
record more than just my voice. I went to control pannel, sounds, went to the
record tab and put it to stereo mix. When I tried this, absolutely nothing
records, so the frustration level is very very high. lol
Can someone give me a work around or even better a sollution so I can record
voice, synthesizer, and sounds made by the software? I even tried total
recorder to no avail.
Thanks for your help in advance.
Rob, the incredibly frustrated, non demo recording person.

Re: Sirius Internet Radio

It's not free. However you can get a three day trial. Then you have to have
an account with them if you wish to continue to receive channels online.

Got a new computer, need xp media center advice

2006-10-25 Thread Rob DeZonia
Hi everyone,

I've been away for a long time but I always come back when I need help.
lol
I got a new computer which I have not started running yet because I
have a couple accessibility questions. It has Windows Xp Media Center. I
am using Window-eyes but that really doesn't have much to do with my
question. I was reading docs on the Microsoft site and it says that you can
hook up a cable box and record programs. You can add tv listings etc.
The thing that has me puzzled is it keeps referring to using the remote
control for things like searching for programs, scheduling them for
recording, choosing recording options etc.
Is it possible to just use the keyboard to accomplish these tasks?
Really can't see why not but they make no reference to using keyboard or
even mouse for these tasks.
If anyone is using Media Center to record tv stuff your input would be
greatly appreciated.
 Thanks in advance.

Windows Media Player is driving me crazy, help. Replay Shortcuts

2006-03-09 Thread Rob DeZonia
Hi everone,

It's nice to be back on the list after about a year's hiatus. Here's
my problem. I am running windows 2000 service pack 4 so all should be in
order. Suddenly, I can not access any of the cbs/infinity stations,
example, knx1070.com, kcbs.com etc. When I click the listen links I get an
error message saying the file can not be found. After clicking ok in a
frustrated fit of grumbling, I get a second error message saying that my
internet connection appears to be lost and to refresh the page after I'm
reconnected.
Of course I have not lost my internet connection, it seems that the
embedded player on the page and the actual windows media player, series 9 by
the way, can't communicate and link up or whatever they do.
I found a workaround for this problem. I established another account
on the computer, and when I go to that one, everything works as it should.
I usually run as administrator. So what Have I done to screw up mediaplayer
in my main account? Any ideas? Thanks.

  Rob

question about industrialaudiosoftware

2005-05-24 Thread Rob DeZonia
Hi Everyone,

Has anyone used IpodcastCreator by industrial audio software? It seems
like a great program for, of course podcast creation, but some, not all, parts
seem to be inaccessable.
I can stop and start record, find files, but can't access the sliders for
recording volume, and the slider that apparently controlls the mix between mic
and music.
I use Window-eyes and like I say, have had some success, but without the
ability to mix, or regulate mic input the program won't work.
 It is available from
http://www.industrialaudiosoftware.com
Click on the podcasting link.

Help the dummy, win a prize. ok no prize but ...

2005-05-24 Thread Rob DeZonia
Hi everyone,

Well, my goal is to create a podcast. Forget the rss, forget uploading
files, i need help with the most basic of basics.
What I want to do is start with music, podsafe music of course. I want to
fade it down, talk a little bit, fade it back up, or perhaps fade it out
entirely. What software do I need? Can someone give me a senario so that I
can accomplish this small yet important task?
By the bye I do have Window-eyes and Sound Forge 6.0. If Sound Forge
won't work I'm willing to go anywhere, download anything so that I can get this
project started.
Thanks for your help in advance. I know that a lot of you on the list
have recorded stuff for ACB Radio so this may seem like a real dumb question,
but I can't figure it out. Help.

Oops forgot something important

2005-05-24 Thread Rob DeZonia
Hi again,

I don't want to use an external source for music such as a cd player etc,
I want to use music already on the computer. Thanks, sorry I forgot that
tidbit.

New to the list, and a quick question

2005-05-13 Thread Rob DeZonia
Hi Everyone,

Well it's been about 3 years since I've been on the pc-audio list. A lot
has changed, the moderator, and the address. *grin*
Anyway I have a quick question. I was going through the archives and
found out there is a list dedicated to podcasting. The email address was not
shown. Could someone please post the address so I can subscribe to it?
Also, is there an easier agregator to use than Ipodder? I can do it but
there must be an easier way out there somewhere to listen to podcasts.
 Thanks.
