Chris, I have the same trouble. I have been working via e-mail with support. When I get it working I will let the list know. Louie [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Original Message - From: Chris Skarstad [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Friday, June 24, 2005 4:04 PM Subject: Anapod Explorer and the iPod shuffle Hi folks I just recently got myself an iPod shuffle. If you don't know what one of these little beauties is, where've ya been? check out http://www.ipod.com and go to the iPod shuffle link. Ok with all that out of the way, here's the situation. For a while now a lot of people have said that the better program to use to transfer songs to your iPod is Anapod explorer, located at http://www.anapod.com It gives the process of transfering songs a windows explorer type of interface, and I'm definitely for that. I didn't and in its current state, won't ever install iTunes. So I got everything set up. I hooked the iPod up to my computer's USB port and just as it should, Windows XP recognizes the iPod as a drive, it's drive g in case anyone is interested. You're supposed to make sure you can do this before you get started with Anapod Explorer. Ok, so i did that. i then went and downloaded and installed the newest version of Anapod explorer, I got the trial version and right now I'm glad I did because as I write this I'm still not able to use it much. They tell you to connect your iPod to the computer via USB. Then, you're supposed to go to the system tray and right click on the Anapod manager icon, and choose the connect iPod shuffle option. When I do this I get an error message saying that Anapod couldn't find any windows iPods, even though Windows can see it as a drive. It suggests running the updater and restoring the iPod to its factory defaults, which i did. Every time I try to access the shuffle in this way I get this error message. I'm wondering if anyone else who uses this software has had a similar error message, and if so, how'd you get around it? also, are there any other accessible programs for transfering songs to and from your iPod? I'd really love to actually use the thing I paid so much for. Baby Fire Ray, I am ripping talking tape books that I get from the Seattle talking book and brail library. Here is what you do using sound forage and a normal speed tape player. 1 Open a new window set the sample rate to 88200, 16 bit depth stereo. 2 Make sure that the tape player is playing in stereo. 3 Record the tape. 4 After recording do a select all . 5 Tap this will select the left channal. 6 copy the left channel to the clip board. 7 open a new windo 88200, 16 mono. 8 copy to the new window. 9 Set the sample rate to 44100 bit 16 depth. 10 Check the check box that sez set the sample rate only do not re sample. 11 save the file. 12 Now do the same for the right channel. 12 You will need to reverse the right channel.
