Try: http://www.poikosoft.com/ Easy audio converter is the current name for the old Easy CDDA extractor. However, it does much more than the old program. Be warned, though, it is quite accessible but it does have its idiosyncrasies that can be overcome with some experimentation. RE: Looking for An Accessible CD Ripper
Hi, I have always used CDEX however 1.79 went nuts on me with the install of windows 10. I understand that many programs need to be installed again after installing windows 10. However, I cannot find my copy of CDEX 1.79 on any of my machines or my three external HD backup drives. So the question of the day is what is working best as a CD ripper for those who have updated to windows 10? My CDEX 1.79 is ripping ok as long as I don't try to do anything in Options which is not acceptable. Also I have tried all the google links for 1.79 and I cannot download any of them. Even if someone sends me the file it seems to choke on my machine.

Re: Looking for An Accessible CD Ripper
One reason for a profile that I can think of is how you want the program to handle track titles. For example, for a single artist CD I don't want the artist's name to appear in the title of every track. However, for a various artists compilation, of which I have quite a lot, I do want the name of the artist to appear in each track title. That's just a small example. There may be other reasons to have profiles, but I can't think of any right off the bat. However, when I hit Next after Pluto TV came up, it asked me to select an option and an Okay button came up. I reached an impasse at that point, since I couldn’t see how to select the option. So that was the end of trying to install CDEX. Then I tried VLC Media Player. Installing that was easy. Then I brought up the instructions on how to rip CDs with it that Dane so thoughtfully provided a while back. However, not all those controls in setting up the ripping process are accessible for me with Window Eyes 8.4. For example, I cannot check the CD check box. It just won’t change from Unchecked no matter how many times I hit the space bar. I can’t even get it to play a CD that’s in the tray. I know it plays because I can bring up Winamp and play it. The problem with Winamp of course is that it doesn’t know what it’s playing anymore, so I’m trying to find a ripper that knows the tracks. I looked up Exact Audio Copy, but it looks intimidatingly complicated to me frankly. So, anybody got any suggestions for an ACCESSIBLE ripper that I can try that’s not overly complex, but that will produce reasonably good results. I’d really appreciate some advice. Oh, how I miss being able to do the job with Winamp! Evan

Hey thanks for that. I didn't think of looking at NCH Software, even though I have, and really like, their Switch Audio Converter. And it is completely accessible and fast as well. I've got EZ CD Converter installed here and working well, but I am still going to take a look at Express Burn, if only because I was so impressed with Switch. Thanks. Bpoweramp Audio CD Ripper etc
Hi! I'm sure someone mentioned this software on list a little while back, I only glanced ath the eMail at hte time and thought nothing more of the oftware until my search for CD ripping software with the Accuraterip functionality turned it up. I've downloaded the package and testing it, the author of the eMail to this list suggesting that the software is quite accessible was certainly on the money, looks as though Bpoweramp may even replace Easy CD DA Extractor or Easy CD Converter as its just that little more accessible. There's a 21 day trial available. http://www.dbpoweramp.com/cd-ripper.htm

Hello, Thanks for the info. I found the site hard to understand but ended up settling for a download of what I think is a rather late version of the software. It was no problem downloading from `older versions but couldn't figure how to get the latest one. Re: CD RIPPER
Hi Joe, Could you tell me what ripper you have, and where I can get it. I looked at the exact site, and a lot of it was in deuch, so I wasn't sure what to do. Winamps free format converters are not mp3, they have a wma, and an aac. You have to pay for the mp3. isn't that strange. sIsn't t -Original Message- From: Joe Giovanelli Sent: Wednesday, December 21, 2011 9:06 AM To: pc-audio@pc-audio.org Subject: RE: CD RIPPER Hello, Thanks for the info. RE: Problem with the Easy CD Ripper Interface
Hi John, it may be confusing, I guess this is subjective, but it's a very accessible programme. F8 is your hotkey to extract. I think the key to understanding the interface is that there are two sets of tab controls. One relates to the application you are using. You can use this set to switch between the CD ripper, the burner, the file converter etc. The other relates to controls within the current application. Subject: Problem with the Easy CD Ripper Interface That's great, Jonathan, I have now downloaded and installed the easy CD ripper. There's only one problem, however. First I should point out that I'm a Window-Eyes user. I can't locate the button for ripping the tracks from the CD. I did come across it when I first launched the program but for some reason I'm no longer able to find it again. is there a hotkey for starting the ripping process? What I have found with the interface is that once you finish tabingb through a list of options, instead of returning to the original tab control, you unintentionally find yourself in a different dialog and tab control. It's a bit like the Lion, The Whitch and the Wardrobe. The only difference being that I've not met Aslan yet. *smile* So, in a nutshell, a great piece of software, it does exactly what I want it to do but the interface is a little confusing. Easy CDDA Extractor Looks good, but it doesn't go to Gracenote, it gets info from Freedb. It is a pity there is no program that allows you to check both databases. Re: Best CD Ripper
Basically, I just remember that when you start out, nothing is selected. Extracting at that point will extract the whole CD. If I hit spacebar on any given track it selects it, and extracting at that point will extract all tracks. Just a little memory work. CD ripper oppinions sought
Hi folks, I've been using CDex for a very long time to rip my audio to mp3's. However, the other day it took over an hour to rip a perfectly clean Eagles CD onto my laptop. I've changed all of the read/write options in the CD-rom options tab, but it still takes much longer than I would like. So, I'm now seeking oppinions for the best ripper; which is the quickest? Which supports mp3 and ogg natively? What would be the advantages of using something like Winamp Pro over EZCDDA Extractor, etc? The laptop I'm using is a Dell Latitude C600 with a Dell 24x CDRW/DVD-ROM combo drive. Thanks for any assistance, Steve Stephen Clower, that guy from the south.
