Hello. All you should have to do is shift tab to the folder where you can find the place where you have the song and enter on the song and it will put it in the playlist. Kind of like windows explorer. You don't have to type in the filename. Problems getting Playlists To Play In Winamp
I've got a play list that plays just fine if you start it in the Winamp library, but when I export it out to a .M3U playlist and hit enter on it, Winamp will open, but it will quickly go through the song titles in the playlist until it gets to the end, but it won't ever start playing the music. I know the songs play just fine on their own, because I went to the folder where they are stored, and tried them one at a time. And like I said the playlist in the library plays just fine. I've even tried recreating the playlist file using other sources, but I still can't get Winamp to start playing them. Any help and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, because I don't want to have to open Winamp's library every time I want to play those Albums. Settingup Playlists in Station Playlist Creator
Hello List! I recently purchased Station Playlist Pro and want to get a grasp on creating and managing playlists. I listened to and downloaded two tutorials on Station Playlist Creator and Studio done by Jonathan Mosen a coupld of years ago, but the versions of the programs have changed and I am looking for an updated treatment of this program. I heard two people talk about Station Playlist Creator on a Main Menu Show once, but they spent most of their time with the features of the program and how excellent and usable it is for blind people, but they did not at that time go through the steps of creating playlists and using the list that you create. If anyone has some kind of tutorial on Station Playlist Creator, I'd appreciate knowing how I could get a copy of it. Winamp Playlists question
I am using Winamp latest beta and Jaws 7.1. This is not a question relating to the beta, just Winamp in general, as the beta seems to be fine. If I use Windows Explorer or File dir to Enqueue into the playlist it seems to add the file at the end of the playlist, regardless of where I am sitting in the playlist. Is it possible to place it the playlist at a given place rather than always at the bottom? Also if I find a file using Windows Explorer or file dir and choose to play in Winamp to see if it is in fact the file I want, it makes the playlist go away, and it becomes the only song in the list. Is this what noramally happens for others and is there a way, other than perhaps choosing to play the file in another audio player to hear it before enqueuing it. Also the excellent File Dir will enqueu to a playlist seems to be only able to do so from the current directory. So you could not explore your disk full of various sub dirs to choose audio files. P. Here is the information about this feature: Use the new Play List command, Control+Shift+L, to create a .m3u file with references of tagged items to play sequentially. Types may include .mp3, .wav, or .cda (the extension of a track on a standard audio CD). FileDir prompts for the name of the play list to create, defaulting to PlayList.m3u in the current directory. Focus is then placed on that file (if in the same directory), so you can simply press Enter to execute the play list. Note that if you want to play tracks on an audio CD, however, you need to save the play list in another directory that permits the creation of new files. The rest of the features of FileDir are definitely off topic for this list as they don't relate to PC Audio in any way. Re: Creating M3U playlists, further explanations etc.
Not really. I have over 400 cds on this drive, and I can create playlists rather quickly. Now, granted, I use winamp's library to do this, but I've loaded playlists of 7000 or 8000 random songs and have had no problems. Yep, absolutely right. I have to admit that I'm talking about making playlists on a massive scale here really, when you're dealing with say a book containing 28 CD'S you really need an automated solution. Creating M3U playlists, further explanations etc.
Ok, well I went through Winamp and the options for creating playlists just in case I was missing something and I actually think that the batch files I wrote in Take Command are easier. take Command allows the user to write very powerful batch files which can take user input etc, such is the case with mine which I'm happy to distribute. You run the batch file as you would with any other command say from the run programmes option. You're typed in the path name to where the files are that you want to make a playlist from, you hit enter and the batch file does the rest. I'm looking at ways of having a "browse" option incorporated into the batch file, only one thing you need to do and that is get a version of Take Command onto your system, I think its available from http://www.jpsoftware.com. Re: making playlists in windows meedia player
I just found out that changing those library options doesn't amake a difference when pressing enter on a song on the branch. All songs get added to the now playing list, no matter which of the options I choose. Good thing I can select with shift and control but this behavior isn't optimal. Re: making playlists in windows meedia player
It's actually pretty easy to make a playlist with WMP 10. However, I'm not to good at writing out instructions. In the library, you will have a tree view and a couple lists. One list opens when you highlight a branch in the treeview and shows all the items in that branch. The next list is the "now playing" list. You can empty that any time by choosing "new now playing list" from the file menu. Tab and shift tab to move between these three lists. Pick a tree from the treeview such as an album or artist or genre. Then tab to the list that opens and select songs you want in your play list. I normally pick one song at a time and press the context menu key to add to the now playing list. I just experimented with non-contiguous selection with the control and arrow keys using spacebar to select and that also worked. You can shift tab to the add to now playing list button but it is easier for me to use the context menu. If you press enter on a branch of the tree or in the middle list, everything in that list gets added to the now playing list, which is what you don't want. You can change this behavior by pressing alt-o when in a list to change library options. I hope this was helpful. I'm liking Windows Media player more and more, even though it doesn't do some things as well as Winamp. - Original Message - From: "Cris Hall" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Use winamp. Re: making playlists in windows meedia player
Hi tyler, I've done this a few times but I'm no expert by any means; but here's how I did it. go to where you have your music files, then select the first song you want then go into the file menu and arrow down until it says add to playlist. when the dialog box opens tab over to the new button and activate it and name the playlist then hit ok. Once you've done that tab to the ok button in the playlist dialog box to add the selected track to it. From this point select the next piece and add it to the corresponding list until you've got them ready to burn or whatever it is you want to do with it. Hope this helps and I hope I explained all that right. Hi, Not sure on which list the question was asked but not yet answered so I will try. Although I think Media Player 10 is easier to use, to add a radio station to your Library, find the station. Hit alt f. Arrow down to "Add to Media Library" and pres Enter. s Another list of options opens up and go down to "Add to current playing Playlist" and press Enter. You will see a "save as" box and the item there is labelled "playlist 1" which is vague. So give it the call letters ofthe station and country if you use foreign language stations and tab to "save" and press Enter. Hopethis helps and Happy New Year. ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Re: Nero and playlists
Hi, Raul, if anybody knows, you probably may know this, and that is, that I have an o e m version of nero express, and it is only nero express, and not nero burning rom, and my problem is this. I can create a compilation, and when I get to the burn screen, with window-eyes 4.5sp4, there's a check box that says, allow files to be added, multi-session, but if I check this box, and burn the cd, close nero express, open it again, add a file I forgot, my original label from the current recorder edit box is deleted, and when the cd is burned again, with the added files, the cd drive shows the size of the cd only in terms of the newly added file, so, not only are there preferences for nero, but there are also settings for creating a new cd, and specifically telling it how to handle sessions and such, but I don't know how to get to these with nero express. I only see an 8 page tab control under more options, and configure, but there's no session tab, no labels tab to tell nero not to erace a label on an unfinalized disc, and nothing to tell it, continue to fill the disc up until it is full, and automatically finalize it, and apparently, nero burning rom has all this, but this o e m version of nero express came with my sony burner, so what can I do about this, I just thought I'd specifically ask you, since you use window-eyes. Another friend of mine said that nero express was the biggest piece of garbage he had ever seen, but don't want to give up on this as long as I can, but find it very hard to believe that nero express would not have all the options of nero burning rom, even if laid out differently on the screen. This is on a windows 98 se system with 192 megs of ram, and a 400 megs processor, and I was also told that the sony cd burner was boarder line in terms of my system requirements, and don't know if that would have anything to do with this, since I close everything except window-eyes, and get off line, before even starting to burn a cd. Thanks, and hope you guys aren't tired of hearing this question repeated over and over in different ways. On Sun, 12 Dec 2004 18:51:54 -0700, Raul A. Gallegos wrote: >Susan. Re: Nero and playlists
Raul, Okay, thanks for that. Adding a playlist seems a bit easier since sometimes file names seem to be truncated when I add them to a compilation individually. I just wanted to be sure that they would be recognized and tagged as individual tracks when it is done. I assume this would work, but of course my logic isn't always correct on stuff like this. Many thanks. Susan ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Nero and playlists
Hi listers, A couple of questions ... First, when loading a compilation for either data or audio CD's, can I simply load a Winamp playlist and still have the tracks appear separately in the compilation and subsequently when the CD is burned? Also, am I right to think that WMA files must be converted to wav or MP3 before they can be burned even if Winamp is set as the default player? Hope I've asked the questions clearly, smile. nero, burning with playlists problem
Hi. I am using Nero 6.6 under xp-sp2 and came across a problem and I'm not sure how to fix this. Usually if I want to burn a cd from ogg or mp3 files on my hard drive I start the new cd bit. Choose the settings for the audio cd, then open explorer, go to the folder which contains the files I want and arrow to the playlist. I copy it with control-c and then alt-tab back into Nero and paste the playlist in. the playlists are usually named something like _playlist.m3u. Most of the time the playlist is read by Nero and the tracks from the playlist are added in the correct order and then I can go right ahead and burn the cd. The problem is that sometimes I get an error from Nero saying that the wma files are protected and cannot be burned to cd. However when this has happened it's been with only mp3 or ogg files. I don't have windows media files on my system and none of my mp3 or ogg files are protected. Any ideas? -- -- Raul A.
