Hi Saqib,

Thanks for that info. As I said in another reply, I'm copying all audio
files to the library in Windows Media Player, and then I will try and burn
the two that I need to Audio CD, although, if you could clarify the location
of the directory you referred to that would be helpful.

Hi Alexander,
I use Nero, but I find that if you use minus R's, Nero will not burn, so you
have to use plus R's, and that does work.

Hi Abarney,

Thank you for your message.

I think I am trying to use CD-R disks so these could be CD minus R disks but
I'm not certain.

Re: problems burning .wma files to CDR disks

2008-11-06 Thread Alexander Shannon

Hi all,

Sorry to reply to my own message, but I've even tried writing the .wma files
to a CDR via the Send Too function in Windows XP and I'm still getting
nowhere. When I try to write the files to CD I highlight each file in turn
and then press shift F10 on it and select send to from the resulting list.
From the list that then appears I select my CD drive, first making sure that
the drive contains a CDR. Then Windows Media player opens and then nothing
else takes place.

So, please can someone tell me where I am going wrong, and send me either on
or off list, some step by step instructions taking into account that I use
Supernova rather than Jaws as my screen reader.

Thank you in advance for any further help anyone can give.

hello, i also use nero, 7 ultra and nero 8 in my other computer and i have
no problem using those -rs and also +rs and everything burns fine. it
might be your burner starting to act up. they do that when they start to
go. they get very picky as to the type of media to burn to. just a
thought.

If you are meaning looking at the files in the CD drive, I do have some

transferred to the CD, but the process does not take place as far as I can

problems burning .wma files to CDR disks

2008-11-05 Thread Alexander Shannon

Hi all,

I've just joined this list in order to see if any members can assist me in
solving the following problem.

I'm using a computer running windows XP as its OS which is also loaded with
Office XP and Supernova Access Software.

I am trying to burn files which have been downloaded to the computer on to
CDS to play in a normal CD player. I thought the problem was that I was
writing the files to CDRW disks, so I went out and purchased some CDR disks.

However before that, I had tried to burn files onto CDRW disks using a trial
of Nero burning Rom version 9 and the files had reached the disks although,
at that time I was not certain that I was using the wrong disks. When I
went to purchase Nero 9, the local PC world only had Roxio Easy Media
Creator 10 in stock, so I have purchased that instead. However, even though
I have converted the files I wish to put onto CDs from .MP3 to .WMA I can't
seem to get them to burn to CDR, when as I said, they used to be able to be
written to CDRW but I couldn't play them on a standard CD player.

If anyone can work out what I am doing wrong please could you explain.
Thank you in advance for any help, and please note that the files I wish to
put on CD are files publicly available from the website of the church I
attend, and I am recording them with the permission of members of the church
purely for personal use.

Hi Alexander,
in order to get music or any file to play on a standard CD player, you have
to burn them to audio.
To get MP3 files to play on a standard CD player, you have to get a CD
player not older than a couple of years.
