Replay Radio info

2015-07-09 Thread Petro T. Giannakopoulos
From my notes,

I was the beta tester over two years ago. I do not know what your computer
skills are but if you know what a menu bar is and can tab around and look for
buttons on the Replay Radio 9 interface and knows what a Schedule tab list view
and My Recordings tab list view are and knows how to edit a edit field box to
search for a station within the Replay Guide and then adjust the time and date
fields for your station then you will be fine. Like any application it takes
time to learn its user interface at the beginning. You can also tune to your
stations that you have added via the guide or manually.
Which screen reader do you use.

If you have a station or show that is not in the replay guide you can have it
added to the guide by Applian. You can email the person I know there that is in
charge of the guide.
When you add a station from the replay guide you will get this scheduler window
on your screen. You click on this +add link within the replay guide after
finding your station and then the scheduler window for your station appears.
This scheduler window can be used via the tab keyboard key with edit fields and
combo boxes. The scheduler window has the tabs and they are Recordings, Tuning
and Advanced tabs. To go into one of these tabs you need to have focus on the
desired tab then press your enter key to make it the active tab then proceed
with your tab key to see the settings / properties for that particular tab
sheet.
Using insert+tab with JAWS or NVDA will say Recording checked or if you pressed
your enter key on the tuning tab it will say tuning checked which means it’s
the active tab.
You can record your stations and tune to them. Some of the stations you record
will be captured silently in the background which is called Direct Download. It
all depends on the station you are using.
In the scheduler window for your station there is this No Conversion Settings
button which you press your spacebar on and will allow you to change the
origianl stream format to be from FLV to MP3. Some stations use FLV so doing
this will automatically convert your original FLV stream recording to MP3
format. You can also convert manually any recordings you have in your My
Recording list view to MP3. Say you see this FLV recording for your station you
recorded you would arrow down to this file and press applications key / context
menu / shift+f10 and choose save as MP3. This will convert any of your non MP3
recordings to MP3 manually.
Finally anything you add via Replay Guide will show up in the Schedule tab list
view area. Any of your recordings will show up in your My Recordings list view.
You can use up and down arrow keys and first letter navigation within this list
view to find your content.
To edit a station that is already in your Schedule list view you would first
find the station the Schedule list view and press your enter keyboard key on
it. This will bring up your station’s scheduler window where you can edit the
time and date fields and monday through Friday checkboxes and no conversion
settings buttton with spacebar.

Keyboard Shortcuts

a.. Ctrl+r: Start an audio recording
b.. Ctrl+x: Stop an audio recording
c.. Ctrl+n: Create a new, empty schedule item
d.. Ctrl+c: Copy currently selected schedule as a new schedule
e.. Ctrl+e: Open currently selected schedule item for editing
f.. Delete: Delete the currently selected item
g.. Ctrl+g: Start the currently selected schedule item and record for given
duration
h.. Ctrl+t: Tune to the station on the currently selected schedule item. The
Tune tab details must be filled in.
  i.. Ctrl+s: Open Settings
j.. Escape: Stop the currently selected recording
k.. F2: Rename the currently selected recording
l.. Enter: Play the currently selected recording
m.. F5: Restart the the currently selected recording
I have not tested all these shortcuts.

Oh yes, absolutely replay radio works great with Window-eyes. I
downloaded it and installed it yesterday and it's pretty cool. the only
tricky part is moving through the different tabs in the options screens,
sometimes they don't gain the propper focus. You have to find the tab
you want and press enter for it to gain focus so you can see what
options are available. it's anawesome program and I had no problem
figuring it out.

Hi folks
Thanks to Peter and Petro especially for turning me onto Replay Radio.
I had been using some of the Replay programs a few years ago, but hadn't
for some time. It looks like Replay radio has replaced Replay AV, which
was a program I used a lot. The program does exactly what I want it to
do, although, I can't seem to get the url finder to work. I installed it
but when I press the start monitoring for URL's button nothing seems to
happen. I saw a reference to something called Network Monitor in there,
but not sure how to go about installing that. There's a choice that
says use the installed drivers recommended. Is it ok to select that
option when installing it? I just want to be careful, and do the right
thing.
Thanks guys! If anyone has any other tips i'd love to have them. So far
this program is amazing!

Replay Radio Folder Creation

2015-06-24 Thread Petro T. Giannakopoulos
You want your X Y Z radio station recordings to be stored to a designated
folder instead of the default RR9 folder.
Also, you want your A B C podcasts to be stored to this other designated folder.
To do the above, you would;
This OK button is found when you add a station, show or podcast via the replay
guide, add a show manually via the main user interface of Replay Radio 9 or
when you edit an existing entry in your Schedule list view.
1. Locate the OK button within your scheduler properties window.
2. When you have focus on this ok button press shift+tab one time.
You will hear something like menu split.
3. Press your space bar.
4. Down arrow and locate new folder and press enter.
Edit box appears.
Type in name of new folder.
X Y Z
Press enter.
Tab over to the OK button and press enter.
You are not finished.
Repeat the steps shown below;
4. Down arrow and locate the X Y Z folder and press enter.
Tab over to the OK button and press enter to save.
Now all the recordings you make in the future will be save in the X Y Z folder
for your X Y Z radio station.

Now to the A B C Podcast show and how to designate it to a specific folder.
1. Locate the OK button within your scheduler properties window.
2. When you have focus on this ok button press shift+tab one time.
You will hear something like menu split.
3. Press your space bar.
4. Down arrow and locate new folder and press enter.
Edit box appears.
Type in name of new folder.
ABC
Press enter.
Tab over to the OK button and press enter.
You are not finished.
Repeat the steps shown below;
This OK button is found when you add a station, show or podcast via the replay
guide, add a show manually via the main user interface of Replay Radio 9 or
when you edit an existing entry in your Schedule list view.

Replay Radio new tip

specific folder you designate?

Replay Radio How to tip

2015-06-10 Thread Petro T. Giannakopoulos
Do you know with Replay Radio you can tell it to place a recording in a
specific folder? Say you have a radio show that you record every week and you
want that radio show to go in a specific folder and not to be mixed with your
other recordings? You can do it as I have been doing this for awhile. This is
with JAWS. I have not checked it with NVDA nor Window-Eyes 9.1.
Replay Radio allows one to record shows and stations plus is a podcatcher. It’s
not free.

Replay Radio / Replay Music 7 Using demo info

2015-06-05 Thread Petro T. Giannakopoulos
I have tested with NVDA and JAWS 16 Replay Radio and Replay Music 7.
Using Windows 7 Pro.
Read the user guide.
If you have Windows 8 read the user guide. You will need to use the stereo mix
/ what you hear.

Applian wrote,

any other program in free demo mode forever. The demo mode for Replay Radio is
fully functional. The limitations are one can capture up to 50% of on-demand

Hi Peter
It depends. If you added the scheduled entry yourself manually using a
stream URL you found and copied to your clipboard and used the add show
button within RR9 and if you know the start time for your station or show
then you can do as you wish with the local time and UTC. The start recording
time and UTC should be the same for your time zone. For example, if I add a
radio station or show manually myself and I know the start time is for
Eastern time zone USA and Canada which is -5 hours and I know its starts at
7:00 PM EST / 1900 hours I would put 7:00 PM for the start recording time
and check to be sure the UTC combo box reflects my time zone which is -5
hours USA and Canada.

So to recap here your show or station starts at 7:00 PM you would put 7:00
PM and put the TZ time zone to your local time zone also.

If you add a show or station from the replay guide use those default
settings except when you know the TZ time zone is incorrect.
Say I add this station from California that is in the Pacific time zone
which is -8 hours and I see the UTC within the scheduler saids -5 hours then
I will correct it myself.

Record your radio stations, shows, download your podcasts with Replay Radio.
Website is
http://applian.com
Works with NVDA 2015.1 andJAWS.

Since the time I did these tutorials Replay Radio’s scheduler window dealing
with the date and time settings has improved so what I say in the audio
tutorials about this disregard.

Any questions ask them.

I have blind discount code available. I do not profit from this.

Now to the Audio Tutrorials I have via Dropbox,

Replay Radio 9.0.1.46 Recording from External Source

2014-05-04 Thread Petro T. Giannakopoulos
This feature was added in an earlier version with Replay Radio 9 and I tested
today. Was able to schedule a recording with a start time to record from an
external source like from a radio unit's headphone output jack connection to a
USB sound card's mic input jack. Scheduler was set to capture from record audio
(device) and Device was set USB Sound Device. I used a 1/8 inch cable to
connect the radio's output to the mic input of the USB sound card. I have JAWS
set to use my laptop's internal sound card while in Windows OS I have the
default sound card set to the USB sound card. This allows me to use my screen
reader without being interrupted. Possibly if I used amplification I would have
heard the sound output from the radio but with no amplification I could not
monitor the sound from the radio during recording with Replay Radio 9. Works
great for me.

These are dropbox type links. Simply press enter on a link 'http:' and you will
be taken to a Dropbox website. At that website you will find the file and a
download link. Press enter on the download link. Wait a few seconds. Press
alt+n and tab over to the save button. What I do here is when I hear the Save
button I down arrow to the Save As and presses enter on the Save As and I am
given the opportunity to save my file to a preferred location.

Hi all,

I was going to send this over to the Nvda list but thought the mods over
there are a bit over zealous and would say it is off topic, they would
be correct but I know one of the people worked with the people who made
this app and it works well with Nvda.

Anyway I have set a timer for every day, I can't seem to see any
setting to have this app run at startup, do you have to do this? or
will the app if closed just come up at the time of recording? there is
not a button to hide the app in the system tray not to sure if I like
this program. I have used tap in radio and this just works. but I
subscribed to this not expensive so I thought i would try this app. I
used to have it years ago but have kind of forgotten the way around it.
thanks for any help given.

The start recording time and date settings has been improved since my testing.
Very easy to configure now so disregard my notes on setting the start time and
date below.
Pay attention on how to use the tab sheets.

Replay Radio
Text Tutorial

Replay Radio 9
Installation
No installation issues experienced.

Default storage folder is

C:\Users\your-computer-name\Documents\Applian\Replay Radio

Only If You Are A Dropbox User

When you run Replay Radio 9 you will get a pop up window asking you if you want
to use your Dropbox folder as your storage folder with options yes or no and a
checkbox.

Replay Radio 9 Settings

Choose alt-t for the tools menu.

For Replay Media Catcher 5 Settings

Press enter on Library tab on main interface.

Press alt-l for the Library menu

then proceed with the steps below for either program to do

Choose settings

Library tab sheet properties is the default

Press spacebar key to check mark the checkbox that reads

Choose Player based on Windows File association

This will preserve your audio / video files playback with whatever default
media player(s) you are using.

If the above checkbox is not checked then you will be asked if you want to use the
Applian FLV Media Player which plays many file types.

It is a clone of VLC Media Player but has no buttons interface

When you attempt to play a file within either replay Radio 9 or Replay Media
Catcher 5 you will be asked if you want to use / download the Applian FLV
Media Player with yes or no.

If you know the file type is supported on your system then choose no

So don't download this

There is another checkbox in the library settings called 'Enable Sound Effects'

This should have a check mark. If not press space bar key.

This enables you to hear a start sound when the programs have begun to capture
and a stop sound is heard when a capture has finished.

If for some reason you don't like your settings or can't remember what you have
changed simply click the 'Defaults' button to reset your settings back to the
defaults.

Choose OK

Replay Radio 9 Replay Media Catcher 5 use the same engines so many parts are
exactly the same so once you have used one of the programs the other is easier to
use and understood.

The user interfaces are different though.

If you have scheduled a future recording but have forgotten to run the Replay
Radio 9 application, no problem because Replay Radio 9 will open itself and
start the recording for you.

Setting the configurations

You may want to change where your storage folder is located. This is where your
files are stored after you have captured, recorded, converted and downloaded
files are stored.

Replay Radio 9, changing the storage folder location can be done by

Media Folder Edit

Or

Choose the Media Folder browse ... button to set your new storage folder path
location

Do not change the Library Folder Edit field

I was the beta tester for Replay Radio 9. This program is not the old Replay
Radio that you used to have. The new Replay Radio 9 or some call it just Replay
Radio will start up on its own when it has to do a recording. It does not have
to be running. If you set the times correctly it will record for you. It will
activate itself when it is time to record.

Write me off list and I will send you my Replay Radio notes. Put in subject
line Replay Radio.

Thank you.

Replay Radio will activate itself on its own and record. It does not have to be
running.
The start recording time and date settings has been improved since my testing.
Very easy to configure now so disregard my notes on setting the start time and
date below.
Pay attention on how to use the tab sheets.

Replay Radio
Text Tutorial

Replay Radio 9
Installation
No installation issues experienced.

Default storage folder is

C:\Users\your-computer-name\Documents\Applian\Replay Radio

Only If You Are A Dropbox User

When you run Replay Radio 9 you will get a pop up window asking you if you want
to use your Dropbox folder as your storage folder with options yes or no and a
checkbox.

Replay Radio 9 Settings

Choose alt-t for the tools menu.

For Replay Media Catcher 5 Settings

Press enter on Library tab on main interface.

Press alt-l for the Library menu

then proceed with the steps below for either program to do

Choose settings

Library tab sheet properties is the default

Press spacebar key to check mark the checkbox that reads

Choose Player based on Windows File association

This will preserve your audio / video files playback with whatever default
media player(s) you are using.

If the above checkbox is not checked then you will be asked if you want to use
the Applian FLV Media Player which plays many file types.

If for some reason you don't like your settings or can't remember what you have
changed simply click the 'Defaults' button to reset your settings back to the
defaults.

Choose OK

Replay Radio 9 Replay Media Catcher 5 use the same engines so many parts are
exactly the same so once you have used one of the programs the other is easier
to use and understood.

Replay Radio 9, changing the storage folder location can be done by

alt+t for the Tools menu

Choose Settings

Library Tab Sheet

Media Folder Edit

Or

Choose the Media Folder browse ... button to set your new storage folder path
location

Do not change the Library Folder Edit field

Read the above carefully

Replay Media Catcher 5

You may want to change where your storage folder is located. This is where your
files are stored after you have captured, recorded, converted and downloaded
files are stored.

Replay Media Catcher 5, changing the storage folder location can be done by

enter to activate the tab sheet then use your tab key to jump into the
configurations that are available for the particular tab sheet.

When you press your ENTER keyboard key on a tab sheet you will hear the screen

Replay Radio 9 does not appear to have the ability to setup a line-in schedule
as a scheduled event.

To capture the line-in sound you will need some kind of amplification. When you
connect the cable to your line-in jack to your computer my experience has been
that you should hear the actual audio sound from whatever external source it is
coming from within your computer's speakers. My experience only. If you do hear
the external audio sound source within your computer then press enter key on
the Quick Record button to start recording and to stop recording press the
Quick Record button again. Also note, alt+r+s will also work to start a quick
record and to stop a quick record simply press the same keystroke of alt+r+s.

Thanks Petro.

I did the Quick Record with line-in with the audio coming through but it
didn't seem to pick it up. Streamed audio is fine though.

Pity, one can't schedule line-in recordings as this is handy for recording
non-streamed radio.

Thank you for your help.

This will also give a user more flexibility as he can set a start recording

As an existing Applian customer you can upgrade to Replay Radio for $9.95 a

Re: Replay Radio has been released by Applian

2013-11-23 Thread Petro T. Giannakopoulos
The old Replay AV 8 media guide no longer will be updated where you find the
stations and shows to add to Replay AV 8's schedule. If the special Applian URL
listen link no longer works within Replay AV 8 you will need to find a working
URL and the old media guide will not help you. You can use the URL Finder tool
to find the URL though.

stream URL address.

Re: Replay Radio has been released by Applian

2013-11-20 Thread Petro T. Giannakopoulos
Just found out today. If you go to the Replay Radio website you will notice a
subscribe link and if you activate the subscribe link you are taken to the
subscription page. They are going to charge $2.95 per month or $29.95 per year.
Thought you might want to know this. I do not want to disappoint anyone. This
was news to me also. The page doesn't mention if the Replay Radio will work
without the subscription or if there is a limited usage whereby you have to buy
the subscription model.

To me, it is worth it.

Recording with Replay Radio

2006-11-14 Thread Terri Elliott
Every time I try recording something with Replay Radio and if I want to
listen to the station with Winamp, Window's Media Player, or Real Player the
stream won't stay in. It keeps going in and out. Especially if I want to
record something from A C B radio Interactive. I don't know why this is
happening. If anybody has any ideas or suggestions as to how I can fix this
problem I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Question about Replay-radio A-V

2006-04-21 Thread Jim Shaker
For the last several Sundays, I have been trying to record a 4 hour long
program, from 8 P. M. to 12 A. M. and was able to do it with version 6.
However, now I get nothing but the promo's which begin each program from
National Public Radio. There were 832 such promo's the next morning. I
like the idea of capturing the stream and outputting it to a MP3 file which
is the reason for trying to stick to Replay-Radio A-V.

Any help would certainly be appreciated.

Hi, Jim. I have the latest version of Replay a/v. and though I have

you want, though I may not be able to do so this Sunday.

replay radio problems

2006-03-09 Thread Slaton, Ray
Well, finally, finally recorded something with replay.
Recorded cbs news from kcbs from 7:00 to 7:06 PM.
It records fine using audio output with your sound card.
But only records 3 seconds using capture by downloading.
That's all I know right now.
Thanks.

Re: replay radio problems

2006-03-09 Thread Chris Skarstad
hi Ray

I didn't know this until another list member clued me in, but
aparentlysome streams*have* to be recorded via your sound card
because they're protected by what is called a broadcast flag. So for
these streams, what I would do is just record those through your
sound card, and for others, try different streams. For me, the
capture as mp3 has worked almost every time accept for once, when
Replay AV gave me an error message about converting to
mp3. Aparently there's a bit of an issue with converting some real
audio streams to mp3. Hopefully the replay folks can work on making
it more reliable. Anyways, just keep at it, and go into your
settings and make sure that you don't have Replay AV set up so that
it splits files on its own. if it loses the connection to the stream
then obviously it's going to create another file when it picks up the
stream, but if you leave all the choices in that section at the
defaults, you should be fine.

If you are getting distortion in your recording, it may be your record
volume may be set too high. There is a box to check in settings if you want
replay to try to automatically optimize your volume, or you can go to the
volume control which is likely in your systray and adjust the record volume.
This is only a guess as just don't know enough about your set up to say
anything more definite. RD

replay radio 7 question

2006-02-26 Thread Ray Slaton
Hi I am trying a demo of replay radio with jaws seven.
Tried to record a show, but received error message, saying couldn't connect to
server.
I may have it configured wrong.
Right after installing it, I was asked about connection speed.
I was giving a choice of dial up connection or proxy server.
Wasn't sure what to do since I am on cable.
Second question, what is the easiest way to get to the shows that you've
recorded?
I know I can only play fifteen minutes audio using this demo version, I just
need a little more help with the program.
Thanks in advance, and jonathan, what a great review on your site.
Had no idea you were living in the U.S. now.
Again, thanks again guys.

Since I have dial-up, I can't vouch that my answer is totally correct, but I
believe you want to leave dial-up unchecked. If you have a proxy you should
include its name and port, but if you haven't had to do that previously for
some program or other, you likely don't have one and needn't worry about it.
These choices are located under the settings menu found on the main screen.
Find settings and press the spacebar on it. Shift tab once to be in the list
of control tabs, and right arrow to connections. Be sure that dial-up is
unchecked, and unless you know better, make sure proxy is unchecked as well.
See if this makes a difference.

Open the programM and after getting by the demo messages youshould be on the
about button. Right arrow or tab 44 or pPeErRhHaAps 5 times to play. Press
the space bar. Mmake your selection. Lookk at the menus a bit to know what
options are there.
Alternatively, you can do what I do and listen to your recordings with your
favorite player. Sorry, the rest is mostly upper case. I've fixed the
problem this far in, but the rest you'll have to put up with with upper and
lower case mixed weirdly.
anyway, IF YOU WANT TO TRY AN ALTERNATIVE, YOU GO TO THE FOLDER BY STARTING
WITH MY COMPUTER OUTSIDE THE PROGRAM. next SELECT YOUR HARD DRIVE, AND IN
THE DEFAULT STATE, PRESS P TILL YOU GET TO PROGRAM FILES AND PRESS ENTER.
PRESS R TILL YOU GET TO REPLAY 7 AND PRESS ENTER.
PRESS R TILL YOU GET TO RECORDINGS AND PRESS ENTER. there YOU WILL FIND THE
FOLDERS OF ANY SHOWS YOU HAVE RECORDED. in EACH FOLDER WILL BE THE SHOW OR
SHOWS IF SEVERAL OF THAT NAME, AND THE LOG FILE FOR THAT OR THOSE SHOWS.

 Hi all,

I have upgraded to replay av,

It's very to use the only thing I have found that the map that I used to
have for it I use Hal the map did not work any more!!

I find this each time I renew the version I have to get onto dolphin and
they eventually come up with a new map for it.

I have to use the dreaded narrator.

But once you are past the first screen it is fine it's easy to use and you
don't knead any additional sound card drivers it's grate all the best.

Hi everyone. Replay Radio is now Replay A/V. It offers a number of
improvements including the ability to record multiple streams. What I'm
wondering now is if anyone has upgraded from Replay Radio 6.0 to Replay
 A/V.
If so, did you find the new version to be as easy to use as 6.0?

Thanks in advance for any and all thoughts.

Yes, it is just as good if not better. I use the stream capture mode to do
most of my recording so that I can have it done in the background. I never
used replay before AV came out more than I do now.

Replay-Av 7.04, the latest version is as easy to use as previous versions
but can be made more complicated if one so chooses. The latest version
allows greater choices in how the MP3 is recorded. One can record
 streams
directly without going through the soundcard at all although I am not
 sure
that this will work as well with a dial up as it will for someone who is
online. Though some menu items have moved about, it is essentially the
 same
interface. Replay radio 7.04 works the same as AV minus the ability to
record streams that are not passed through the sound card and it will not
record video as AV will. I've not recorded video so can't say how well
 that
 might work.
