Great idea Bob! I did the PBP in 1987 and one of my strongest memories of the 
event is the excellent support along the way. It is wonderful to see a familiar 
face waiting at the checkpoints.

thank you Dave. this is the bike on which i am planning to attempt/do
the paris brest paris randonneur in august 2019. it has a cumulative
climb of about 33,000 ft over 1200-odd kilometers. so will be training
a lot in hills/rolling terrain. will also change the chainrings to
44/33 early in 2019...

double and the cassette is 11-32, 11 speed. the back rim is also
shimano, the front rim is custom-built with a SP-PV8 hub dynamo. B
dynamo light. Brooks B68 saddle and Continental gatorskin tyres,
700x32mm at the back and 28mm at the front.

i think it looks very nice too but i may be biased. thanks.

since i spend quite a bit of my time sitting myself on a bike and doing
long rides, i thought it was time i got myself a custom-built bike.
started the process, bike-fitting and stuff, sometime in july and after
four months, it is almost done. 

the builder's name is Sukrit, he runs a bike shop called aurovelo in
pondicherry, a city about 140 km from where i live.
