Local news about K-5

2010-11-21 Thread Boris Liberman

Hi!

Looks like I am /not/ going to buy K-5 any time soon. It hasn't yet
arrived to Israel. I can put a special order and wait for 3-4 weeks and
pay for that USD 1750. Or I can wait and hope that when it arrives, it
will cost a bit less. I am seriously thinking about buying it after
Christmas in United States. I've been told the prices are expected to go
down somewhat by that time. USD 1750 is quite a lot of money...
Especially if in two months from now it may cost like USD 1200...

/sigh/

Boris

P.S. The phone person suggested a really good price on K-7... /smile/

Not really surprised considering the bits you already told us about
Pentax in Israel but still, it hurts :(

Ouch! I thought that paying retail was for the goyim. Maybe you can find
someone at BH heading to Israel to visit family that would be willing to carry
one for you in your luggage. :-)

Come to think of it, considering how many yarmulkes I saw at BH, I'm almost
surprised they don't have a Tel Aviv location.

This weekend's price at BH was $1,595; I'm sure it'll be down to
around $1,400 in the new year.

Where in the US are you coming to?

That's the main problem - i am not coming to US any time soon. At
least I haven't planned for such a trip. Also, Galia and Anat do not
have American visas and that of my wife ends next year... /sigh/

I take it you meant the descendants of Francisco Goya... But the man
was a painter... That's a different hobby, you know ;-).

Come to think of it, considering how many yarmulkes I saw at BH, I'm almost

There is a small shop in Bnei Brak that looks very much like BH. I
bought there a grip for my K10D. I asked them at the time whether they
were affiliated with BH and/or other New York establishments and they
politely declined. I think they were being only partially true.

I will monitor local market, although judging from my lazy monitoring
of prices of K-7 and K10D, the Promised Land promises no miracles.
