OT: Re: Split the list or calm down ?
Looks like I've come back at the end of another flare-up. I'll hang about a bit to see if it fades away. Why wait? Because I missed the informative posts. I hope it doesn't start all over again. This kind of thing is so boring. I don't know how long I've been on this list because twice, at least, Outlook Express has destroyed the contents of all its folders. The rules are no longer working and all messages now remain in the inbox instead of being moved to the 'pdml' folder. Does anyone know why? Has something happened to the arrangement of the headers? I gave up the digest because it was a chore to sort through the messages. Its easier to remove individual messages - a one step process. By the way: the insurance company finally paid up and I got a new monitor. Samsung 19 SyncMaster 959NF. It's a cinch to set up for Photoshop and it stays set up. This is more than the Nokia it replaces ever did. Don Dr E D F Williams http://personal.inet.fi/cool/don.williams Author's Web Site and Photo Gallery Updated: March 30, 2002

Welcome back. In a sad way I am glad to hear that OE has trashed some of your folders. Only glad that it confirms my experiences. I have lost several folders of emails on several systems using OE. I have since switched away from it and have had no problems since. I hope that the list flare ups are ebbing. We have a couple of new members who haven't quite got the hang of the style of the list and are causing some waves. We also have a few who are very upset with Pentax for not announcing anything concerning a DSLR at the recent Photokina event. There are alot of us who would just like to have the list settle down and get back to business - photography, Pentax equipment, etc. Way to much bandwidth has been used recently that is not what this list is about. Why use a MS product which does not do the job and which is most vulnerable to virus attacs ? Backups could be nice every now and then too ;-) Antti-Pekka --- * Antti-Pekka Virjonen * Fiskarsinkatu 7 D * GSM: +358 500 789 753 * * Computec Oy Turku* FIN-20750 Turku Finland * Fax: +358 10 264 0777 *
