From what little I've seen of video it seems that the biggest advantages is the 
opportunity to spend a lot more money on a wide variety of cool toys and 
gadgets.

Recent job for client was shot in HD (1920X1080) and after editing the
client asked 'to change the aspect ratio to 550X310 as a WMV' for delivery.

I get this sort of stuff all the time. You simply wouldn't believe most of it.

Incidentally if you're on Facebook and edit video, join 'Edit Suite
Stories' for some rib-ticklers.

I'll take your word on it. Digital video is dizzyingly complex with various 
different containers, video formats, encodings, audio formats, encodings, etc. 
I don't have time to suss it all out at the moment; the fact I can output 
something usable that plays in (seemingly) the same resolution as I upload it 
is okay by me until I know better. 

I'd love to get more into motion work, but not until I retire from my current 
career (which may be quite soon … :-). The SL has some nice motion capture 
capabilities and I'd love to explore them further.

Steve(s)  - my vid doesn't play for me on ebay either - if I'm in 
Firefox... but it will in Chrome
It's in the enforced translation to the display in ebay that is messing 
with you...


I got  crib specs from atech on ebay in HTML so all I needed to do was 
paste it in to my description and replace 11xx's with the 11 character 
youtube file name ...

On ebay, the only place you are allowed to insert the code for the link 
is in the discription area..


on my monitor it is the  second screen  - but I think if you are on a
smart phone or some other like device you would have to click on 
"description" before

that area comes up.

The good thing is, with my music box stuff ,I already have a bid on one 
I listed with a vid.. I'm linking to the listings

from youtube back to ebay too.

That youtube saves me editing work makes me very happy... for this kind 
of stuff, doing 4 or 5 takes with the camera on is lots
easier than post processing for me.  The older videos some of you saw 
were difficult and only fun for a little while...


I had to do this one over several times, not for the physical stuff but 
because I didn't like my patter or I'd forget what I was saying- not

to mention that it was it was difficult for me to be brief and concise :-)

It works fine in Safari on OS X or on iPhone and iPad. Although, I think that 
MP4 is the most universally compatible format for videos.

see that I could load an AVI file to youtube
so glad that ebay is now allowing us vids in listings as I have about a dozen 
music boxes to sell..

I used my darkside camera (so that is why the OT) cause I've yet to even try 
shooting a video with the K-5.  It's easy peasy with the
old canon P
