Nice shot - there is an eastern prickly pear cactus as well and it has similar blooms. They are really beautiful. One of the fields where I shoot bugs has a good bit of this cactus in it. A textbook shot, Jack. Prickly pears have become problematic invaders in SA since being introduced about 300 years ago. Cochineal bugs were later introduced to control them with considerable success. I have even seen the odd plant in the most out of the way parts of Kruger! I'll remember to take s shot next time I see one. Love the muted pastel-like palette.
