Re: K-3 users - how often do you use the AA simulator?
It's going to depend on the brevity of the flash. The AA simulator is a pretty high frequency oscillator, and though I don't recall the exact duration for a round trip of the sensor, I seem to remember it being about the same as the minimum flash sync time of 1/180th sec. However flashes and strobes can have super short durations of 1/10,000th second so yeah, AA simulator is out for that kind of shooting. But lots of folks shoot with continuous light, like CFL, LED or tungsten. Would be fine with AA simulator. Re: K-3 users - how often do you use the AA simulator?
Okay, I found some numbers. The AA simulator works up to 1/1000 sec shutter, so it'll be a bit more effective with flash than I thought. Still hit or miss though depending on flash duration. It'll work best with hotshoe flashes running at near full power. [...] seems to indicate that the system is only oscillating at about 500 Hz. http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/pentax-k3/pentax-k3SELECTIVE_LPF.HTM On Fri, Feb 6, 2015 at 2:13 PM, Bruce Walker bruce.wal...@gmail.com wrote: It's going to depend on the brevity of the flash.
