I do not recall reprinting an Edison 1911 catalog with a wood grained cover. Perhaps Chuck Mandrake? Allen -- In a message dated 10/6/2013 5:06:17 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time, zonophone2...@aol.com writes: hi i believe allen k did them zono ___ Phono-L mailing list http://phono-l.org
[Phono-L] Who Reprinted 1910 Edison Cat.../
Oops, the subject date should have been 1910 but my antique fingers hiccupped. On all of the fine reprints from Allen I believe somewhere there is a 'reprinted by...' so we know it was a quality reprint from him. The difference from the 1910 Form 1865 original and the reprint is the wood grained cover pattern. These reprints appear with regularity on eBay and I am sad to say the reprints are commonly listed as mint originals for which neophytes pay top dollar that an original would bring. Thanks for the responses to this mystery reprint. Al ___ Phono-L mailing list http://phono-l.org

Re: [Phono-L] Columbia Viva-Tonal 810 Photo Needed
Thanks to those of you who sent photos of Viva-Tonals.Having only dialup internet I have encountered difficulties seeing some of the photos but have forwarded them to a friend who is an artist who will undertake to restore the decorations. The local antique phonograph repairman has sealed the joints in the horn but says the soundbox diaphragm is badly damaged wants replacing. The under lid decal is missing. So I need the following: 1. Columbia Viva-Tonal soundbox diaphragm 2. Columbia Viva-Tonal 810 under lid decal Please let me know if you know sources for these two items. The orthophonic style new diaphragms out there look more like the original Columbias anyhow. I put new gaskets in one of mine but found that oiling the bearings had a bigger impact on improving the sound.
