[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#893515: digikam: FTBFS with kdepim 17.12.2
I totally understand that, I am just trying to get infos to you as debian maintainer from my (at the moment admittedly almost non-existing) involvement upstream. Exiv2 0.26 will likely not get into testing. Upstream does backport a lot of security fixes to 0.26, but negated creating a dot release on request, and is focussing on 0.27. It was planned to release an rc in early 2018, but from what I read in the issue tracker, that's not going to happen asap. signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature ___ pkg-kde-extras mailing list pkg-kde-extras@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-kde-extras

0.26 is in experimental for quite a while. As far as I can see the problem is that it needs a transition but that is not happening. I don't know how that works, but from what I read the next steps would be opening a transition bug and starting binNMUs against the rdeps. I think the two versions are ABI compatible, so there shouldn't be any problems. signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature ___ pkg-kde-extras mailing list pkg-kde-extras@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-kde-extras

[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#743824: digikam: Digikam no longer displays any album thumbnails
Hi Ryan, Thanks a lot for the very detailed report. Can you check in Settings -> Configure digiKam... -> Image Editor -> Versioning at the bottom in the "In main view" section, whether you have any of the "Always show..." options set? This could explain why some images are missing, but not why there is a discrepancy between thumbnail and table view. I assume that the case in the screenshot of just one image is only reproducible by moving images around outside of digikam? All in all it clearly sounds like an upstream issue. If you don't mind answering my questions, I will open the upstream bugtracker issues once we fleshed the problem out. signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature ___ pkg-kde-extras mailing list pkg-kde-extras@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-kde-extras
[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#743824: digikam: Digikam no longer displays any album thumbnails
Hi Ryan, Thanks for the heads up regarding the frankly weird mailing distribution. Are any of the images grouped or were edited with the digikam editor (i.e. versioning is used)? [Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#834131: Video support still not working
Sorry for not responding on this. I don't really use digikam for video files and the few videos I had in my digikam collections still did not run after. However upstream has dropped QTmultimedia for video handling and uses QtAV (which in turn is based of ffmpeg). Unfortunately QtAV is not yet in debian (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=737016), however upstream provides debian packaging already, which worked almost fine for me (buildep without -nc flag resulted in an error). This will take effect in the upcoming 5.4.0 release due at the end of this month. On 01/11/16 15:59, Steve M. [Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#846630: digikam freezes when trying to select target location in export to remote storage window under gnome
forwarded 846630 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373820 thanks I asked upstream about this and the answer was that the export tool is legacy code (still KIO based) and the solution would be to rewrite it to QT5. This is however low priority as there is an easy workaround: Just drag and drop into a file manager at the desired destination. I linked the upstream bug asking for such a rewrite for reference. I still think the exact bug here is not a problem of digikam itself, but something related. I created a GDB backtrace (with digikam built from source for debug symbols), maybe someone can get some useful information out of it: http://pastebin.com/xLSevGhy ___ pkg-kde-extras mailing list pkg-kde-extras@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-kde-extras
[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#846630: digikam freezes when trying to select target location in export to remote storage window under gnome
I experience almost the same problem with the package: I get the same error message and freeze, but it occurs when I start digikam clean without a database and press "Add selection". The same thing does not occur when I use the appimage provided upstream, so this might be due to a bug in a dependency. In version 5.1.0 selecting an entry in the dropdown menu, creating and removing name/tag works as intended (nothing empty, frame is removed immediately) and I do not get any other update issues when playing around. [Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#834365: digikam: Dependency on libqt5sql5-mysql is missing
As a rebuild is needed for bug #841751 could this also be included. It is simply a matter of adding a single entry (libqt5sql5-mysql) to the dependencies of digikam. I attached a svn patch. Thanks. [Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#803456: Digikam 5.0.0 uploaded
Hi again, Point 2 is now addressed in current master upstream. My patch adds information about the non-migrated configuration to the welcome page. This will be in the 5.1.0 release due tomorrow. [Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#803456: Digikam 5.0.0 uploaded
Hi, First a big thanks at Steve for packaging digikam! I proposed an information on the welcome page about the configuration transition. I hope this is included before 5.1.0: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364258#c18 I will keep you posted. I would really like to see digikam5 in non-experimental debian repo soon! On a side note: Is bug triaging on this package welcomed? [Pkg-kde-extras] digikam removal from repos
Hi, Digikam will soon be removed from debian testing due to the RC bugs 787349 since shortly also due to 777833. I asked on digikam mailing list about it (https://mail.kde.org/pipermail/digikam-users/2015-June/021163.html), it seems to be an incorrect license which was corrected in a later version than is currently in the testing repo. The same is true for bug 777833. My question is whether there will be a current package of digikam for debian in the near future? Thanks for any information.
