Yeah, a little more public love would be pretty good right now. :-)

Unfortunately we'll have to wait for the dust to settle a little bit. Intel is
not going to back away from MeeGo that is for sure, and other companies are
getting more active. Hopefully we can push more information out into the public
and that is definitely an important benchmark for the project.

Are these going to be submarine projects for a long period, or will
these companies "soon" step up publicly to back meego up? More public
 love would be good :-)

Difficult to give many particulars as there are usually NDAs and other
restrictions against naming specific projects and companies. I can say that
there is definitely activity around the OMAP 4, Exynos, and Tegra 2. More than
that I really don't know.

Understood; do you know of specific projects around ARM and MeeGo?
Which ARM SoCs/companies are interested in MeeGo for IVI, set top box
 etc.?

My trigger to call for this meeting has been the Squeeze release, not the
recent "thing" we got from Nokia. I personally do not want to focus on this
event.

My goal in holding the meeting is to discuss things; how do we foresee the
future of our project, what we can bring to Debian from the MeeGo
ecosystem,
etc. A possible conclusion might very well be "it's not worth it anymore,
let's stop." I would prefer have us work as a team towards [SMART] goals
(be
them small or big doesn't matter much) than continue in various indefinite
directions.

So every possible option is open.

There are other verticals that MeeGo addresses aside from just the Handset
vertical. For example, there is stuff happening in automotive in MeeGo IVI
which will be beneficial to Debian should one want to install Debian on an
automotive head unit. MeeGo also has had uptake in televisions and other
handset makers are involved as well.

So, I wouldn't write off packages flowing into Debian from MeeGo just yet.

Hi again,

I just noticed that I'm unfortunately having a meeting IRL at this day, so
here's a Doodle to schedule a new date:

[Pkg-meego-maintainers] Pkg-Meego IRC meeting during this week [2011-02-16 - 19h00 UTC] ?

Hi people,

I would like to hold a pkg-meego Wheezy kickstart IRC meeting during this
week, in order to discuss various things: future of the packaging team,
packages to get uploaded soon, etc. I'd like to keep this first meeting
mostly informal.

Would Thursday 16. February, 19h00 UTC be suitable for you ?

I started a meeting wiki page [0], please register there, just to know
who'll be present and a vague proposed agenda.

Thanks in advance for positive answers :-p,

OdyX

P.S. I'm taking the lead for that meeting, but am fully open to leave it to
anybody stepping up (it's probably obvious, though).
