Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Help with SlimCD please!
Michael to the rescue I expect. I am totally lost in the DSL environment - how do I tell Slimserver to find my music folder on the USB external drive? (what's the correct path syntax?) Be sure the drive was plugged in when you booted. In the bottom right (well, sometimes it sticks to the top left, don't know when and why...) you'll find a little toolbox with a few buttons. The third from top should be labeled "fd0" or "hda0" or something. These are Linux' names for your drives: fd0 - floppy, hda0 - first disk etc. USB sticks often are recognized as sda0/1... push that button to cycle through the drives. Do you find some sda* entry? Watch the button below: is it "mounted"? If not, hit the "unmounted" button to try to mount it. Once your drive is mounted, you refer to it as /mnt/sda0 etc. in SlimServer. Where do I find a 'My Computer' type of browser to let me see what's 'mounted' or not? The only option you have is the Norton Command style "Midnight Commander". Right click the desktop, select Apps/Tools/Midnight Commander. Then go up to the system's root, enter /mnt, and you'll see what drive's are available. Not quite "My Computer" style, but still better than the shell to start with :-) -- Michael --- Help translate SlimServer by using the StringEditor Plugin (http://www.herger.net/slim/) ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

d_command d_source d_plugins, I suppose. it's probably the same thing that makes ffwd fail after a while. bouncing around just ends up with trouble. of course, describing in more detail what you mean by "not working" may also be useful. There is a huge difference between the plugin just no longer being there, no ui, not moving the bar, etc vs pressing play and the song just doesn't go anywhere. -kdf ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Seems to take ages, which may explain why mattybain thought it takes about 5 selection attempts to switch. It seems very buggy to me - I can't fathom out what it is doing. Sometimes it changes, but shows the songs playing on the other player. It's very confusing if the items in the player list move around so that the selected one is always at the top of the list (I think that's what you are saying). Much better if a permanent list of players could be set in the preferences, and the player numbers/names stay the same. I still can't work out how I am meant to be able to define more than 2 players so I can quickly switch between my 3 players. Michael Actually, as CEEJAY suggests in his post above, the playlist issue seems to occur almost anytime you click on the playlist tab & then hit the play key. In fact it seems to happen if you navigate from the album tab to the playlist tab if something is already playing. Just to re-iterate: This is using the .ewe on an Ipaq 2210 (although CEEJAY is also seeing it on his pda). I do NOT see this behaviour when running the Windows .EXE (i've tried & it seems to behave correctly when doing the same thing that causes a problem on PDA!) My opinion that this is one killer application for pda remains. Superb way of controlling SB3. Thanks! 1. When I list artists the list shows all artists, even those from compilation CDs which I have swichted off in the Slimserver settings. I know...: http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2827 2. When I list artists, where I have more than one artist listed against an album I get an entry for the combined artist e.g. I have 'The Jam' followed by 'The Jam;Paul Weller' rather than two entries. Isn't this the same as in the web interface? Please check your "MULTIPLE ITEMS IN TAGS" in server settings/behaviour: if you add ; to the list, this should display the different artists separately. I have found a problem with the .ewe application running on my pda. When I add an album to the playlist, instead of stopping at the contents of the album added, it seems to go off & add every song in the database.leading to the following error: Java/Lang/NumberFormatException I'll try to reproduce this. Could you please describe the exact steps (from which list did you play the album etc.)? Thanks for the report! The playlist is high on my priority list.
