If would be possible to view the tracks before playing in the same way as the current "Random Album" menu. If you choose to play all these they will be played but it will not be a dynamic playlist that continuously selects completely new random tracks. 2. A "Random Song" menu that actually is just a link to the RandomMix "Random Song Mix" menu. This would result in a dynamic playlist using RandomMix plugin. This solution would not make it possible to right click and view the tracks before playing since this is not supported in the RandomMix plugin. 3. Add specific playlists from DynamicPlayLists plugin to the top menu. This would make it possible to put a link to any dynamic playlist to the top browse menu, for example the "Random songs" menu from the RandomPlayList plugin. This solution would not make it possible to right click and view the tracks before playing since this is not supported in the DynamicPlayList plugin. -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.homeip.net) 'My download page' (http://erland.homeip.net/download) (Developer of 'TrackStat' (http://erland.homeip.net/download/do/viewapplication?name=slimserver-trackstat) , 'SQLPlayList' (http://erland.homeip.net/download/do/viewapplication?name=slimserver-sqlplaylist) , 'DynamicPlayList' (http://erland.homeip.net/download/do/viewapplication?name=slimserver-dynamicplaylist), 'Custom Browse' (http://erland.homeip.net/download/do/viewapplication?name=slimserver-custombrowse) and 'RandomPlayList' (http://erland.homeip.net/download/do/viewapplication?name=slimserver-randomplaylist) plugins) erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=29016 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Warnings from IRBlaster
Firstly, thanks to all involved in the IRBlaster plugin! I downloaded it the other night and plugged a cable between the IR out on my transporter to the IR in on my amp. After a maximum of ten minutes, I'd got SlimServer to learn a few of my amp's commands and programmed the plugin to do what I wanted. Now, when I turn the transporter on, my amp turns on and selects Aux. When I turn it off, the amp turns off. When I adjust the volume on my transporter the volume knob on my amp turns up and down. This is fantastic stuff! Many thanks! A few weird bits however: ;-) - If I use the volume knob on the transporter, the volume on my amp goes the opposite way - turning the volume down makes the volume go up. Only with the knob - using the remote or web interface works fine. - 22:16:52.6552 Use of uninitialized value in string eq at /usr/local/slimserver/Plugins/IRBlaster/Plugin.pm line 1364. Finally, would it not be possible to get SlimServer to completely ignore volume commands, other than to relay them on? I realise this would be server code, but might it be acceptable to add a hook that plugins could call to say "we'll sort out volume changes, thank you very much, just tell us when they occur"? It contains a VERY hardcoded playlist that just plays two tracks over and over again. The README.txt sample hasn't been updated for 6.5 yet so thats why it doesn't work. As I understand it slimserver can't play tracks that isn't in the database, so if thats the case for you you will have to do something like this in the getNextDynamicPlayListTracks: 1. Get the full filename to the track you would like to play, this probably includes scanning the directory you are interesting in for files. Have a look at slimserver code in Slim/Utils/Scanner.pm (findFilesMatching) or maybe Slim/Utils/Misc.pm (readDirectory) 2. Use Slim::Utils::Misc::fileURLFromPath to convert the file path to an URL 3. Use Slim::Schema->updateOrCreate to check if the file exists in slimserver and add them if they don't exist 4. Return the tracks If you know that the files are in the slimserver database, you can search the database directly instead of the steps above using the Slim::Schema->resultset('Track')->search method. +---+ |Filename: PlayListSample.zip | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1888| +---+ -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.homeip.net) 'My download page' (http://erland.homeip.net/download) (Developer of 'TrackStat' (http://erland.homeip.net/download/do/viewapplication?name=slimserver-trackstat) , 'SQLPlayList' (http://erland.homeip.net/download/do/viewapplication?name=slimserver-sqlplaylist) , 'DynamicPlayList' (http://erland.homeip.net/download/do/viewapplication?name=slimserver-dynamicplaylist), 'Custom Browse' (http://erland.homeip.net/download/do/viewapplication?name=slimserver-custombrowse) and 'RandomPlayList' (http://erland.homeip.net/download/do/viewapplication?name=slimserver-randomplaylist) plugins) erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=28999 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Can I change "Now playing"?
Now I've bought myself a NAS and installed Slimserver 6.3.1 on it. How do I install this plugin on this? What NAS? How did you install? Where did you install? There's no plugin-folder as there were on the Slimserver on my pc. Or should I make it on my own, or?!? There is, I'm sure. But probably not in the place you're looking for.
