[SlimDevices: Plugins] Lazy Search won't search while playing
I've been a fan of Lazy Search for some time now. I've recently upgraded to SC7 and installed the latest Lazy Search, it works well except for the fact that I appear to be unable to search while music is playing on my Squeezebox. It won't accept any number key presses at all. Any ideas? Same here - haven't used SoftSqueeze for a while though so not sure when it started. Watching on the GUI, the time bar gets to about 10s and then restarts. I've also had the 'double' stream, by clicking on Play a few times. It also does this with non-RealPlayer streams too, ie. I've reproduced the problem on Linux. Not sure what the reason is but mplayer process is not being killed. Can't be sure but it looks like the problem if you pause a stream and then start another a different one. I think double sound happens with SoftSqueeze is because it is not clearing its buffer when paused and then a new stream starts. Has this been seen on Windows or is it only Linux and OSX users ? Seems like you do everything correctly. I'm guessing that you have installed ActiveState perl ? It might be the space character in the path you enter as parameter that causes the problem. I was trying to stream my audio file on mp3tunes through mp3tunes -- SqueezeNetwork -- SqueezeCenter 7.0 -- a simple mp3 player (such as 'mpd' in linux and streaming from SqueezeCenter by pointing to http://localhost:9000/steram.mp3) However, I wasn't able to so and an error message your player is not authorized to use SqueezeNetwork. On the other hand, if I use SoftSqueeze as client, I had NO problem at all. Can someone explain to me how SoftSqueeze cheated Squeeze to be authorized player as SqueezeBox does? Or can someone tell me if it is possible to hack SqueezeCenter to allow a simple mp3 player stream audio files from a third-party service like mp3tunes? This is the case in the standard menus and in the MusicIP menus. Try open up a web browser with the addresses (replace the [] part): http://localhost:9000/music/[trackid]/cover_46x46_f_FF.jpg http://localhost:9000/music/[albumid]/cover_46x46_f_FF.jpg In my setup this returns the correct album art only if I use the track identifier. It is probably possible to take the track identifier of the first track on the album, but I don't think you can use the album identifier. Are you really saying that you use the album identifier today in the browse menus ? The MusicIP mix page contains tracks from different albums, could this cause the issue ? Sorry to butt into your conversation; I haven't really been following it, but noticed your para about artwork for tracks on an album. Generally it is true that artwork for every song on an album would be the same. However, this is not necessarily true for multi-disc albums (each disc could have it's own artwork), and also, you have to be careful with No Album, as tracks could have their own song artwork, but if they are not on an album, they are lumped together on No Album. OK, understood. That part of the code was in a branch not used by the internal code. You are correct, the track ID should be used and actually in the cases where no album id was known (e.h. search and playlist views) that was already happening. Didn't see this case before. Fixed. Another issue is the items.album hash. Does anybody know what's in there? I'm currently trying to get MusicIP up and running to test it myself but it claims to need another four hours to analyze my database (gl and that's only my limited test db). Another thing: SC has a table storing which track actually holds the artwork for an album. Is it possible to determine this value from views where I don't have access to the full album container, e.g. in playlist view. I watch videos on a windows box connected to the TV set by using VLC to handle the video playback. VLC is shipped with a build-in remote control web interface. As SqueezeCenter is installed on the box it could easily be used to remote control VLC. Aparently there's no SOAP or XMLRPC interface, however, the good news is that VLC's HTTP interface can be customized, e.g. be made machine readable. A potential plugin would need to query VLC's one-pager HTTP interface, extract all needed information (playlist, current file, playback info, etc) and present that on the screen of the squeezebox. I'm willing to implement that, but Perl is really not my favourite programming language. Could someone please give me a set of example files to start with? insert a Video Player menu item, issue a HTTP request, parse the result, present the playlist to the squeezebox, let the user scroll to the files, display file info and navigate deeper into the playlist (it's a tree), start/stop/pause/skip/etc playback, constantly update now playing screen, switch audio channel/aspect ratio/subtitles (e.g. react to specific keys on the remote) and finally quit the VLC plugin by returning to the usual squeezebox menu. Also, I can not get Sirius to even come up on SC when trying to access it with the Duet Controller. The menus are there but when I click play it says Now Playing, Nothing. When I look at SC it shows nothing on the now playing frame. Would you be willing to remote in to my compute? That way you could see the behavior.
