Hi Guys, Some BBC Five Live has stopped playing for me with AlienBBC that played fine in the past. It seems that most of the other BBC channels still play fine. I, i am trying to install Mplayer on my QNAP109-Pro (I do not know much about Linux). When I run ./configure, i hit an error telling me I do not have a valid gcc. I tried running the gcc -v command and the command is not recognized. Looking into this further, the QNAP comes with BusyBox v1.01 which does not seem to include this command. Therefore, my question is, do I actually need to have some version of Linux (Debian, etc) with more complete functionality (ie a compiler) running on the QNAP before I can install mplayer? If you click on each song to get into the Song Info page, do you see any difference between the song details ? As an example, does the Location attribute look exactly the same ? To build mplayer you need a full development environment not only gcc (which implies ld) but also things make and a p[roper shell. Busybox is just a minimal set of file command and usually omits a few shell commands needed to build mplayer. Furthermore you may need to alter mplayer to use fixed point arithmetic depending on the processor in the TS-109. Thanks bpa. I have started from 'scratch' with a formatted QNAP build (hence I think no preinstalls of anything squeezecenter like - this was due to an install of 7.0 'over the top of' 6.5.4 which somehow led to the filesystem and mount becoming corrupted). I have then installed FlipFlip's (excellent) SSOTS and then SqueezeCenter 7.0. These all work well, now I am (of course) wanting to get the AlienBBC working. I was under the impression that I had to install mplayer as a separate step to adding the AlienBBC plugin (i.e. I didn't think it's included in the standard sc7 install). Certainly mplayer isn't recognised at the command line, is there any link or forum you know which discusses the sort of dev environment people are typically using? (are you talking about Debian, Fedora, etc?) Or am I overcomplicating something here (eg if there is some sort of binary I can use without building it myself)? Please excuse my Linux ignorance. By using ssods_ts - you are using prebuilt package of Suqeezecenter and as such all the standard advice has to be read in conjunction with the advice from the source of your package as packaging can change some of the fundamentals. I am vaguely familiar with SSODS but I am not sure about SSODS_TS ( I am guessing you followed the instructions here http://oinkzwurgl.org/ssods_ts ). If that is the case then I think you should read the SSODS FAQ ( see http://oinkzwurgl.org/ssods_faq#toc17 ) and check if already mplayer on your systems. If mplayer (or mplayer-stdout) is not on your system it will be in the SSODS you unpacked. I can play all Five Live, Five Live Sport, Five Live Sport Extra station from both menus and have no problems. I can also play the WMA Five Live streams. Somehting is different either on your systems oir how you select Five Live. 1. How to choose the Five Live station from the AlienBBC menu ? 2. Thanks for this great plugin. I have used it so far on SS 6.5.5 with great success. There was just one thing that I had to do different from the readme/wiki instructions. My computer has a Creative Soundblaster Live soundcard, which meant I had to select Stereo mix from the Creative Mixer Settings rather than from the control panel Sounds Audio Devices. However I have now upgraded to SC 7.1. After installing the SC 7 version of the plugin, I get the following message under the Settings/Plugins tab: Wave Input Plugin is incompatible with this version of SqueezeCenter. Please update. Is the SC 7 plugin really incompatible with SC 7.1? Hi I've also had problems with the execute script plugin. I couldn't get the script to execute, but when I started squeezecenter form the cmd prompt it does work! The code for execute script simply asks the system to run a script. If the system doesn't want to, that's possible. Dear Erland, I use neither ITunes or MusicIP. I have checked the song info by playing the songs and then checking the URL's and the URL's are the same for both instances of the song(I also wondered if I'd had the albums in two places!). As you can see the name of the Track and of the Artists is not displaying correctly. wifi consumes LOTS of power. I would say: depends on how much you use it, but if you use it a lot, that figure might be right. Since Logitech version of SS, directory structure is different. [SlimDevices: Plugins] SC 7.0 and AlienBBC v2.00
I've installed ALienBBC v200_7.00 on my Windows XP SP2 machine, which is running SqueezeCenter 7.0. The install completed, the test audio stream worked, and the AlienBBC plug in shows up on the SC Plugins page. However there are no BBC stations listed under my Internet Radio menu, and if I try to select Settings for the AlienBBC plugin I get 404 Not Found: settings/plugins/Alien/settings/basic.html. I read another post from someone who got exactly the same error message, but their situation appeared to be quite different to mine. It might work to take a backup of the TrackStat data, delete the TrackStat data and then restore the backup. Just make sure that you really have a backup file that really contains the TrackStat information before you select to delete the TrackStat data. If the urls look exactly the same to the Song Info page, the only reason I can see is that your TrackStat statistic has gotten corrupt for some reason so you have duplicate entries. The instructions work well as long as the target directory is correct and you haven't created any unnecessary directories called Plugins below server\Plugins. To double check your installation.
