 looks like flipflip hasn't noticed.

The next SSODS will use the faad shipped with Squeezebox Server.

Does the SBS version of faad for ARM work with QNAP ?

My concern is because QNAP seems to have a strange mixed endian
architecture which caused problems with BBCiPlayer and the plugin needed
a special QNAP patch.

Well, at least it doesn't segfault or so when I type ./faad -h...

But I don't know if it works. I don't even know for what formats it is
used. I only have .mp3 (and some .flac) files :)

I binary-patch the faad (and the other binaries that come with SBS) to
use the SSODS libraries instead of the ones in /lib and /usr/lib. It
seems to work as far as I can tell.

And I tried to compile everything with VFP support. But I didn't manage
to find out if it is used or not.

The mixed endian issue will only come up when handling packing/unpacking
64bit words so seg faulting wouldn't happen but the decoded audio stream
would be garbled occassionally.

I don't think the issue will occur with a fixed point version as 64bit
is mainly used with floating pt operations but it is worthwhile
testing.

faad is only used to decode AAC and AAC+ formats so a test would be to
play http://www.somafm.com/illstreet48.pls on an SB3 or Boom.

I would think it depends on the NAS, the underlying operating system on
the NAS and how you use the NAS. SrvrPowerCtrl is configured to work
with various linux distros, Mac OSX and Windows. If you use your NAS
exclusively as a Squeezebox music server and if you are willing to do
some experimenting, you ought to be able to get this to work on your
NAS. But because various NASs use different methods to achieve
hibernation and because SrvrPowerCtrl doesn't have any knowledge of
these various NAS 'flavors', it's going to take some investigation and
effort on your part to figure out how to make it work. I'll be happy to
assist and potentially point you in the right direction.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC iPlayer: No items found in playlist

2009-11-20 Thread ovonrein

Once again the .ram stream from the BBC have stopped working. Error
message currently is no items found in playlist. This has happened
periodically and I would have to rummage around to establish the new
URLs after the BBC shuffled their servers. This time, no joy. Wherever
I look, references are always to the old eg
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/live/r1.ram. This is also the URL
that the iPlayer plugin wants to navigate to when selecting Internet
Radio/BBC iPlayer/Listen Live/BBC Radio 1. I don't run RealPlayer on my
network so I unfortunately have no idea whether this stream actually
works.

My Slim Server is 7.3.2; iPlayer 0.9f.

PS: Loading the URL into notepad results in the following
rtsp://rmlegacy-acl.bbc.co.uk/bbc-rbs/rmlegacy-acl/farm/live24/bbc_ami/radio1/radio1_nb_live.ra?BBC-UID=24577493df9ef7b4e6cea04310b0fbbeee57efc4c00090832b5acfd5e09a7105SSO2-UID=
That is, the address DOES actually resolve. The stream does still
exist.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM radio plugin with 7.4?

2009-11-20 Thread AbMagFab

Good, so not just me...

Now, anyone know how to debug this? I'm guessing either:

a) the host has changed, and for some reason all these tools use the
same host (except the website)

b) some part of the discovery protocal has changed

c) somehow they are blocking non-web streamers

If it's (a), we can work around that with a hosts file update. If it's
(b), we have to wait for updates to the tools (and unfortunately the
older tools like uXM will likely never work again). If it's (c), we're
screwed, and that sucks, and seems lame of SIRIXM.

*In any case, the symptom in all cases is that the authentication is
failing.*

No, I've never seen this particular error, but I've seen plenty of
flaky behavior on the part of the extension downloader.

With your NAS, just installing SrvrPowerCtrl won't do anything.
SrvrPowerCtrl depends on SYSTEM commands that are unique to your NAS's
operating system. SrvrPowerCtrl has to be specifically configured to
use those commands.

If you can't enable SrvrPowerCtrl through the plugin checkbox, check
the server.log to see if you can see any error messages that refer to
SrvrPowerCtrl that may indicate why it won't load. Because versions of
Squeezebox Server for a NAS are specifically tailored to that NAS, it's
entirely possible that SrvrPowerCtrl, as written, depends on some
element that is present in the 'normal' SBS release for
Windows/Mac/Linux but is missing from the NAS version. I doubt that's
the case here, but it's possible.

I think you have a bad installation - the BBCiPlayer plugin will never
get a .ram URL. That said - you cannot play the AAC streams on 7.3.2 -
to use BBCiPlayer you need 7.3.3 at very least so I think you have a

Why do you not use the Internet Radio/More Radio/BBC to play live WMA

The no items in playlist typically for the following reasons

1. Network timeout because BBC is slow in responding or network
congestion - a workaround is to increase radio station timeout (e.g.
WebUI Settings/Advanced/Network)
2. PC security s/w is interfering with SC operation.

there was a hardware roll at some point in production, so would most
likely work with newer versions. But what about original tuners?

Thanks!

There are differences but IIRC they were small. I think the tuning app
could be changed but I cannot test.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM radio plugin with 7.4?

Yes, it looks like XM changed their site.

Login used to be http://xmro.xmradio.com/xstream/login_servlet.jsp and
now its different. Looks like there's other differences besides the
changes to the URLs.

So, I'll have to prepare another version.

Dang you XM!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl

So I've gone back to the latest Squeeze Center 7.4.1 So far things are
working but not SvrPowerControl (v20091110.223903). I'm getting Plugin
failed to load. I have been manually installing by unziping the files
into the Plugin directory. Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot this?

Thanks

Ok - I tried this and it works exactly as you describe - I can add to
any of my playlists that I set up in Playlist Manager. Still not sure
why the Playlist Manager menu isn't triggered by holding the add button.

I'm going to try to attach my log file - I looked at it and I may as

number of errors in this file I'm amazed my system works at all! (and it
works perfectly for the most part).

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: (not so) Sirius Plugin

2009-11-20 Thread flemming

As much as I hate reinventing the wheel, I have, but I'm happy to say I
have a Sirius plugin that once again works for both US and Canadian
subscribers and for subscribers without a premium subscription.

http://notsosirius-squeezecenter.googlecode.com/

It more or less mimics the look and feel of the official Sirius plugin
from Logitech. So in that respect it's not as feature rich as Greg
Brown's SiriusRadio plugin. But that plugin stopped working for
Canadian users a while back. It also didn't work with version 7.4 and
as of last weekend it no longer worked for US users as Sirius revamped
their site. I tried to simply fix the bugs, but I got frustrated and
decided to just start over.

There are probably new bugs, but it's at a usable point so I figured
I'd get it out there and get some feedback. Check the site, there are a
few known issues, but no show stoppers. If you have problems getting it
working please let me know. If you don't have any problems, I like
hearing that too. Enjoy.

Robert

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Does Playlist Manager work in Windows 7?

Is this your latest attempt to run the software? The log entries are dated Nov
12th - 8 days ago.

It does look like you have some issues with your installation, which will be
worth fixing before looking into PlaylistMan. It looks like the database
couldn't be accessed, so I'm amazed it works at all.

It could be that you have some anti-virus/firewall software that is blocking
access to .myi files, which the SbS database tries to write to. You need to
exclude this file type for scanning from those apps.

The PlaylistMan plugin errors are to do with not being able to read the
preferences correctly.

Doesn't that override any software mappings?

No - this defines the default mappings. The plugin overrides this.

Items in a custom map file would override the default/plugin key definitions
though.
