Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezeslave, 24/96 and SPDIF output options?
Unfortunately not. Other than tracking the latest portaudio development sources and testing the wasapi version, I've done little with squeezeslave over the summer. Thankfully, I've been doing that as I've uncovered several bugs in portaudio which were quickly fixed. The original sources for squeezeslave were hard coded to support 16/44.1 everywhere so it's a major update to the code and I currently have no need to support higher sample rates. I'm planning to track down the buffering code issue which looks more like a race condition. Once that's fixed I'll release 1.0. There have been nearly 13,000 downloads of 0.9-133 and only a handful of users have asked for higher sample rate support. I think it's best to let everyone vote on the next feature(s) as squeezeslave does everything that I need it to do currently. If you'd like to start work on higer sample rate support, I'd be happy to walk through the code with you to help get you started. -- ralphy Ralphy *4*-Classics, *1*-Boom, *11*-Squeezeslaves 'Squeezeslave' (http://code.google.com/p/squeezeslave/) 'donations' (https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_donationsbusiness=LL5P6365KQEXNlc=CAitem_name=Squeezeslavecurrency_code=USDbn=PP%2dDonationsBF%3abtn_donate_SM%2egif%3aNonHosted) always appreciated. ralphy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3484 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=58740 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Help getting PowerCenter working again after 7.5.1 u/g
Hi All Can anyone give me a hand getting powercenter working again after upgrading to 7.5.1? (Does it even work with 7.5.1?) I was on 7.3 previously under Debian it worked fine, switching power amps on off for two of the 4 players I have on the network. I've done a clean upgrade to squeezeboxserver today it works OK, but I cant seem to get the plugin working again, though its shows up fine from iPeng on the SBs' displays. I've reconfigured it as per the new location of heyu for the new build which is: /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/PowerCenter/bin and set up the X10 player addreses again. My X10 controller is a CM12U. When I try to toggle the switches I get nothing. The debug steps I've tried so far: I've enabled debug for the plugin - The log looks like its executing the command but gives return code= 768 - what does this mean? I've tried executing the command from the CLI. The first time I tried I got the following message: Please change the /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/PowerCenter directory's permissions to 777 So I did... and then tried again. This time it returned: starting heyu_relay Unable to send address bytes Now it seems to hang the server for 10 seconds or so when an X10 event happens - but still no switching. The config in heyu.x10config looks OK, as do the GUI configuration pages Any pointers as to where to look next? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Help getting PowerCenter working again after 7.5.1 u/g
My first guess is that the problem is due to the change in Unix usernames. 7.3 was SqueezeCenter, but 7.5 is Squeezebox Server. I don't run the packaged versions of the software (and in fact still run 7.3 in production, though I have 7.4, 7.5, and 7.6 on my test/dev system), but did the Unix user account that's used for SBS change from 'squeezecenter' to 'squeezeboxserver' or something? I expect you have a heyu/heyu_relay process still running with the old SC 7.3 user, and that's preventing the SBS 7.5 user account from sending commands properly. Your device permissions are probably fine, or PowerCenter would have complained about that. The fix should be as simple as stopping/killing any running heyu/heyu_relay processes so that the next time PowerCenter needs to invoke it, it will start a heyu_relay process running as the new SBS user account. -- peterw http://www.tux.org/~peterw/ Free plugins: 'AllQuiet' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/AllQuiet.html) 'Auto Dim/AutoDisplay' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/AutoDisplay.html) 'BlankSaver' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/BlankSaver.html) 'ContextMenu' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/ContextMenu.html) 'DenonSerial' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/DenonSerial.html) 'FuzzyTime' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/FuzzyTime.html) 'KidsPlay' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/KidsPlay.html) 'KitchenTimer' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/KitchenTimer.html) 'PlayLog' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/PlayLog.html) 'PowerCenter/BottleRocket' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/PowerCenter.html) 'SaverSwitcher' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SaverSwitcher.html) 'SettingsManager' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SettingsManager.html) 'SleepFade' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SleepFade.html) 'StatusFirst' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/StatusFirst.html) 'SyncOptions' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/SyncOptions.html) 'VolumeLock' (http://www.tux.org/~peterw/slim/VolumeLock.html) peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=81105 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Softsqueeze 3.9 beta for testing
Hi BPA, I can understand that your motivation to fix benign errors like the one below isn't the top of your todo list. :) However, if its just a typo, maybe you could fix it in your next public build. That error seems to happen on Windows and Linux using any recent Squeezebox server when you click on the plugins tab and select settings for this plugin. Speaking of trivial things, I remember seeing a Softsqueeze 3.9b2 somewhere, but I think that must have been a mistake since the latest version of the plugin I could download is 3.9b1 There are a couple of lingering issues which arent so trivial; but, I'm guessing they are pretty difficult to fix or you probably would have fixed them by now. Issue #1 is actually a relatively high priority since some of us still use Softsqueeze to play local music. Issue #1: For local media, the first second or so of a song is cut off. IIRC, this doesnt happen on classic squeezebox hardware clients; so, it can't be a SBS limitation. Issue #2: For whatever reason.. the cute little Softsqueeze Java applet that comes with Softsqueeze broke at some point in the recent past (It used to work with Softsqueeze 3.6 and I think even in 3.7). IIRC, you mentioned in the past that you've never even heard of it before. The app looks like its about to finish loading into memory, but gets stuck right before showing the interface. Here's the URL if you want to try it: http://127.0.0.1:9000/plugins/softsqueeze/html/applet.html Anyway we all can't thank you enough BPA for keeping Softsqueeze alive and working nicely. -M bpa;568377 Wrote: No error - there are no settings. It is an typo in the install.xml which tells SBS there is a settings page. Softsqueeze is the old Slimndevices supported version which was removed around 7.3 or 7.4. Community Softsqueeze is used to identify as a plugin version. What is the issue ? If Softsqueeze is not playing - it is good to give system details such as - SBS version ? - OS version ? - Java version ? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Softsqueeze 3.9 beta for testing
I originally took on Softsqueeze as a stopgap until Squeezeplay became available and the officially support s/w player and then I expected Softsqueeze to fade away. Unfortunately Squeezeplay as a s/w player is not available but really supported so Softsqueeze is still around. For a variety of reason I have not had much time in the last 12 months for any softsware developments and/or debugging and that included SBS related stuff. mkanet;568396 Wrote: Issue #1: For local media, the first second or so of a song is cut off. IIRC, this doesnt happen on classic squeezebox hardware clients; so, it can't be a SBS limitation. Between 3.8 and 3.9 I looked at this issue (and some other associated ones) - IIRC it is a Javasound issue. Softsqueeze relies on JavaSound itself to determine whether the audio stream is a MP3 or Flac stream and this goobles up a number of audio samples. There were problems if Softsqueeze tries to tell Javasound the audio format which would avoid gobbling of samples. I just copied the html files from the old Softsqueeze into the plugin. I never used the applet so I don't know how it is supposed to work. If you make changes to the applet.html file (found in InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Softsqueeze/HTML/EN/plugins/softsqueeze/html/) or rhe applet.html location to make it work; I'll include the updated applet.html file into the plugin. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=62060 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SqueezeIR Support Thread
A poll associated with this post was created, to vote and see the results, please visit http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79524 Question: Are you interested in IR-over-IP? - Yes, I'd like to have IRoIP. - No, I don't care. Hi - I'd love to be able to use SqueezeIR, looks like a really great app, but I'm struggling to get the necessary codes for my Denon DM-37, which comes with the RC-1097 remote. I see from previous posts that Denon seems to cause a few problems. Is there anyone on here who has managed to get this to work and is happy to share the details? Alternatively can anyone suggest how I can get the codes myself? The Nevo software on my iPAQ can learn them and emulate the Denon remote, but I don't see a way to extract the codes from it. My laptop has an IR receiver for controlling windows media centre, again I don't know if it can be used to capture the codes. Thanks in advance. -- Hobgoblin Hobgoblin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36018 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79524 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Denon AVP Control Plugin
I resubmitted a version 1.7. It has a small enhancement to adjust the Denon volume in .5 steps. It also removes an international settings file that had errors that may have caused your problem. Please try installing the 1.7 version. -- Aesculus Chris Aesculus's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14876 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=60114 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
