an updated version of the plugin, or a workaround?

I installed the app, selected headphone and selected the beta audio
play. The beeps of the SBC are in my headphone. So far so good. But as
soon as I try to play my music or internet radio, the SBC keeps telling
me problem connecting. Clearly I still miss a step. Any ideas? Or is
my SBC hardware not capable for this beta?

Found it. I had to reboot the SBC. Wow, I am now listening to my SBC on
my headphone. Great Thanks for this app.

I can imagine though why Logitech does not fully support this feature.
I guess it will make it less interesting for consumers to buy
SBReceivers. After all, you can now just plug in your SBC in any amp
and listen to your music :-)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SQL Playlist play unwanted genre

2010-10-10 Thread esa

Thanks Erland,

I buy a SqueezeTouch ( I will receive soon ).

Now, I plan to buy a remote control.
At the beginning, my choice was for a IpodTouch+Ipeng.
But,I realize that Ipod isn't a open product.

Archos can be a better choice, if I want to stay in the open world.

My Question : I often use SQPlaylist.
I configure it in the WEB interface.

But for playing, is it compatible with SqueezeCommander or Ipeng ?
What is it possible to do.
I think about :
- select a SQLplaylist
- view Statistics for song played : number of time song played,
rating,genre.
- select a SQLPlaylist in the Alarm clock
- create a static playlist using a directory
- create a sqlplaylist based ona static playlist.

What is the best remote software to use with your application ?

Other question : do you plan to create a SQLplaylist directly from a
directory ?

Regards
Eric

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2010-10-10 Thread norderney

Hi Pippin.

I resolved my previous problem by deleting the iPeng app from my
iPhone and then downloading it from the AppStore.

However, I have another problem now!!! Last night while selecting music
to play on my Transporter, the iPeng app stopped responding. So I
decided to delete the app again and download it from the App Store.

Aftwer downloading the app, all I get in Settings are iPeng Settings
and Player settings. Nothing appears when I select player Settings.

If I press the button top right to get to the Now Playing screen, it
just says No Server Found.

I do not get the icons at the bottom for Artist, Album, Gendres, Years,
More

I have checked on my computer and that is running SB Server Version:
7.5.1 - r30836 @ Tue Jun 1 06:02:45 PDT 2010

I can control my Transporter via both the Remote Control and the web
interface.

My iPhone is set for connecting to my Wi-Fi Network, and I can access
web sites using Safari on iPhone.

Normally when I install iPeng it just connects straight away without
any configuration.

I have made NO CHANGES to my Norton Anti Virus software or Firewall.

127.0.0.1 is always the local computer, i.e. this IP will only work

Try to open http://127.0.0.1:9000/settings/server/status.html on your

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New versions of erlands plugins

Hi.

THX for the really useful plugins.

I had a problem importing the statistics from amarok 2.3.2. I think
they changed the database structure in th step 1.4-2.0.

Changing the sql statement in line 181 in Import.pm to

SELECT s.accessdate,s.score AS percentage,s.rating,s.playcount FROM
statistics s LEFT JOIN urls u ON s.url=u.id WHERE rpath=?

should made it.

Didn't tried the export till yet. I think there it's the same problem,
will check it in some days.
Perhaps you should add different modules for amarok 1.4 and amarok
2.3.2.

At least a question: Is there a possibility for changing the stats of a
track in the amarok db each time it changes in trackstat? Will try
something similar in amarok, so the collection statistics are
synchronized all the time.

Greets.

Is No server found all it says? No MySqueezebox.com? No other

Also, when restarting (only if you have iOS4 or newer), have you made
sure you _really_ restart the app? As in: Closing it from the task bar
 and restarting it?

Re-Downloading from the App Store isn't really helpful here. There is
an issue that when iPeng is first being started it often doesn't seem
to get any network connection (it can't open any sockets). I have no
idea why that is, the OS doesn't seem to connect the network devices.
This usually goes away on the second start but until you re-start it
iPeng will remember the network configuration, in your case: no
 network.
I am currently trying to change this but it's a bit tricky.

There is no the network works correctly. Problems always happen
with single devices on a network, you can't judge from the fact that
another device works. It's usually all software.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Whitebear updated version

2010-10-10 Thread AndrewFG

I spent today running some detailed tests with FooBar 2000:

Does this mean that you overcame the problems mentioned in your
 previous post?
 No.

It works rock solid for me. So when you do find one of your FLAC files
that do not work, please send it to me for testing. Please also send me
a full description of your set up.

Shouldn't STOP stop playing, but position the track at the start of the
track, such that play would replay from the beginning?
At the moment, if I STOP, I can't press play to restart playback. I
have to play from SBS WebUI (or the player).

I will include a fix for this this in the next release. (But it is
partly related to the next topic mentioned below).

Also if I am playing something and I hit PLAY, this seems to stop
playback, and I can't resume (should ignore PLAY if already playing).

Actually, it is much more complicated than this. The problem is that
there are actually two playlists being used, one is the Squeezeplayer's
playlist, and the other is Foobar's playlist.

When you queue some tracks using the Squeeze UI, all the tracks are
added to the Squeezeplayer's playlist. But when you queue up some
tracks using Foobar, all the tracks are added to Foobar's local
playlist. And then Foobar sequentially tells Squeezeplayer to play each
single track from the Foobar local playlist one-by-one. (So when Foobar
is running the show, the Squeezeplayer playlist only gets one track at
a time fed to it from Foobar's playlist).

Obviously problems occur when Foobar's local playlist and
Squeezeplayer's playlist contain different things. (Say you added some
tracks to Foobar's list via the Foobar UI, and/or you then added some
different tracks to the Squeezeplayer's list via the Squeeze UI). E.G.
the PLAY followed by PLAY problem arises if Foobar's playlist is
empty: the first command stops, the current track playing, and the
second PLAY tries to load the current track in Foobar's playlist into
the Squeezeplayer's list; but since Foobar's playlist is empty, there is
no current track, which means nothing is loaded into the
Squeezeplayer; so nothing gets played...

This problem of synchronization between Foobar's playlist and
Squeezeplayer's playlist could actually be solved. But it requires the
Foobar developers to make an adaption on their side. At the minimum,
they must poll the UPnP GetPositionInfo action to read back the real
CurrentTrackMetaData value, instead of assuming that the meta data
taken from their own playlist is correct. (And possibly in addition
they should also poll the UPnP GetMediaInfo action to read
AVTransportURIMetaData to show contents of the Squeezeplayer's
playlist. And/or they can subscribe to LastChange to get the
AVTransportURIMetaData. Then Foobar can compare the two playlists meta
data for possible conflicts).

Previous and Next don't do anything for me, other than stop music
playback. It is not possible to play anything.

Actually, they DO work. But the PREV and NEXT commands refer to the
respective items in Foobar's playlist (and so nothing is played if that
list is empty).

I don't know much about UPnP, but as Foobar2000 UPnP Controller window
has a button labelled as Show Controller Playlist, I assumed it was
 possible?

Actually, this button DOES work. It shows Foobar's local playlist. It
does not show the Squeezeplayer's play list. So if the Squeezeplayer's
play list had been loaded via the Squeeze UI, and Foobar's local
playlist was empty, you would get the impression that the button did
not work...

A minor observation - if music is not playing and in Foobar2000 the
playback position bar is clicked on, Whitebear sends an invalid
 command:

Thanks for this feedback. I will add bounds checking to the next
release.

Try out Whitebear. The middleware that joins the two worlds of:

1. UPnP/DLNA media clients and media players, and,
2. Squeezebox Server and Squeeze Players

Thanks for your help. I did not realise that a problem with the router
 could affect certain devices only

Two things.

1. What you described does NOT restart an app under iOS4. You need to
doubleclick the front button to go to the task bar, hold the app you
want to close until it wobbles and then press the -.

2. Could it be that your router assigned IP addresses of a different
subnet to your iThingies? In that case server autodetection doesn't
work. You can check for this e.g. by adding the server address
manually.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Vortexbox

2010-10-10 Thread Marvt74

Hiya

I've recently set up a vortexbox.
Its streaming to my logitech players fine and if i enter the IP into IE
it lets me access the GUI. However if i try to see the files in Windows
Explorer to edit files or copy new files onto the vortexbox it doesn't
seem to see the Vortexbox. However it does see Twonky Server on the
network.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

Dr Lovegrove, as I had many stability issues, I changed the settings
from using MySQL DB to using Folders, pointing to my database on my
network. It does not hang anymore however Thumbnails get updated VERY
slowly, e.g. 4 thumbnails in 10 min. Interestingly, the cover Art is
displayed in the top left corner while playing, however the
corresponding Thumbnail does not show in the library view, nor in the
cover chooser. When I go to Preferences and click on Update All
Thumbnails in Cache, Moose goes through all albums fairly fast but
does not generate the thumbnails (I can see in the log entries like
Checking bitmap cache for Modern Guilt [24-+Beck+-+Modern+Guilt] ()
 for each album)

Response to my own message / update:
- I went back to MySQL
- made multiple rescans
- I also deleted the folder C:\Program Files\Moose\Thumbs that
included a hues.hues file (as I configured Moose to store thumbnails in
a different folder on my D: drive)
- disabled the option Out of Date Warning

It now works fine Thumbnails generated and Moose not crashing on
clicking on certain albums. And I am not too sure why.

Stating this in case someone else gets the same issue.

Dr Lovegrove, FYI there is an issue with thumbnails not being generated
when Moose is configured to use Folders instead of MySQL

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Ipeng to copy files between sbs and ipod ?

2010-10-10 Thread reniera

Ipeng is wonderfull. Was the compelling reason for me to buy an ipod
touch.

An obvious missing feature is the ability to copy files between
squeezebox server and my ipod so i can take some music away when not
connected (and wo using itunes).

Would this be possible ?

Strictly speaking it's forbidden to work around iTunes to upload music
onto the iPhone/iTouch. But there may be a way around it.
Can't comment on that any further right now.

There used to be a couple of tools that allowed it, but as pippins

possible).

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Vortexbox

2010-10-10 Thread iPhone

The quick way it to use Run Command from the Windows main page using the
IP address of the Vortexbox. You will get a Windows Explorer window,
double click on Files, then Music, then either FLAC or MP3.

Also see 'Vortexbox Documentation'
(http://vortexbox.org/documentation/) for more information.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Softsqueeze 3.9 beta for testing

2010-10-10 Thread mkanet

For several although the Napster plugin has been included in the latest
SBS, there is a small issue related to the fact that it uses WMA based
files. I get all sort of messages from my players saying Connect timed
out: Bada file descriptor, etc.

I went under file types under WMA and disabled some items. Doing this,
did a t least seem to help reduce the errors; which leds me to believe
this has something to do with what happened with Sirius Radio a while
back.

You dont even need to load a client, just try any of the latest
squeezebox servers and navigate with napster. You might know exactly
what I need to change for the napster:// protocol is recognized once
again. Im not sure if this is related to the audio format or the fact
that I need to manually re-add the napster:// protocol back for SBS to
know what website to go to.

I dont think this is client specific, maybe I changed a setting by
accident? Anyway BP, being the good guy you are, I would really
appreciate a quick help from you.

I think I've found a low priority bug

If you go to the new music section and then to the playlist, and then
rotate the phone to album art view, and rotate back to the playlist the
arrow at the top left will become now playing and be all misplaced.

Lemme know if it's just me =]
