Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] (UK) Freeview radio channels
Attached is a zip file for a plugin called VLCPlay which is only suiotable for Windows and for SBS 7.5 (possibly 7.4). It sort of works with faked tests but it needs testing with real h/w. It is to be manually installed in the ProgramFiles\Squeezebox\server\Plugins directory. Check the custom-convert.conf file for your vlc dvb command. The sout is set up to output a raw WAV stream (i.e. PCM) to be fed into lame or flac depending on SBS user choice. If you have vlc transcoding from an video/audio stream some changes may be necessary. You need to restart SBS to get it loaded and you should have VLCPlay entries in the Plugins tab of WebUI Settings/Advanced and also in WebUI Settings/Filetypes you should have VLC entries. To play a stream - in Favorites create an URL such as vlc://12345678dvbprogram=abcdefgTitle=Title textSubtitle=Subtitletext Using the custom-convert lines as a template - the value between // and is substituted into the dvb frequency parameter. The value after dvbprogram is substitued into the dvb-prog value. The Title and Subtitle values are metadata shown on SB players when stream is ruynning. To debug - WebUI Settings/Advanced/loggin enable logging player.source to DEBUG and plugin.vlcplay to DEBUG. If this can be made to work for you I may modify the plugin so that the vlc part of custom-convert can be changed in settings to avoid reboots to test vlc changes. Separately, in batch files running vlc if the last item to be played is *vlc://quit* vlc will exit. +---+ |Filename: VLCPlay.zip | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=11312| +---+ -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=21804 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] Problem using Napster after free trial
I registered for the Napster free trial and successfully used the service over the 30 days the account was valid. After it expired, I registered for a full account at napster.co.uk, but now whenever I try and use my Napster login details I receive various error messages. If logging into napster via the the plugin on the duet controller and putting in my napster username and password, I receive the message Problem connecting, failed to parse. If trying to setup the plugin via the configure option at mysqueezebox.com and putting in my napster username and password, I get the message Oops!An error has occurred. We're working to fix the problem, thank you for your patience. Likewise, when I put my login details into squeezebox server running on my readynas duo I am first told my free trial has expired and prompted to put in my new details I receive the message There was an error logging in: A session is required to access this resource. Please use 'login' or 'fetchSession'. It appears which ever avenue I try the app wont recognise my login details. I have tried creating (and paying for) another Napster account, reinstalling the napster plugin, reinstalling squeezebox server and updating to squeezebox server 7.5.3 but all to no avail. Has any one else experienced problems having upgraded to the full service after using the 30 day trial? I know the software can run as it performed perfectly for the first 30 days. pippin;608674 Wrote: What does unstable mean? Crashes? I'm not aware of any particular 7.5.3 issues and I'm getting almost no crash reports for the current iPeng release. There is one issue whenever a player disconnects and immediately reconnects to the server. Do you have issues with players repeatedly disconnecting? Do you use a jailbreak? There has been an issue with some Music Controls app from Cydia. If it's the player disconnect issue then there will be a fix in the next release. The iPeng for iPhone release is reviewed and released by Apple but I have to also wait for the iPad App to be ready (which for some reason isn't in review yet even though I submitted it only a few hours later) to put it on sale. I need to release both Apps at the same time since there is some kickback in there for owners of both Apps (they get playback for free) for which you need current releases of both. But anyway: IF this is the player disconnect issue you should somehow try to fix that because it will also cause playback interruptions. I would say crashes. But somehow they seem to be related to SBS 7.5.3. I've installed SSODS 7.6 yesterday and no crashed occurred until now. With 7.5.1 and 7.5.3, both synology packages, I wasn't satisfied with iPeng's response time. It took quite some time until the player have been recognized and also the display of artwork was slow. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Well, 7.6 simply _IS_ much faster hence the different response times. Still puzzled about the crashes, though. Do they happen is you do something or does iPeng also crash if you do nothing at all and just let it run? How many players do you have? Have you tried to monitor the MultiPlayer screen to see whether it's dropping players from time to time? I'll give 7.5.3 more testing time, though. -- pippin --- see iPeng, the Squeezebox iPhone remote and *New: iPeng for iPad*, at penguinlovesmusic.com pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

A poll associated with this post was created, to vote and see the results, please visit http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79524 Question: Are you interested in IR-over-IP? - Yes, I'd like to have IRoIP. - No, I don't care. chincheta0815;608695 Wrote: I trained my lua a little bit and changed the SqueezeIRApplet.lua the way I suggested in my post before. Now the controller is much more stable and accepts at least one update, reboots on purpose and loads the config again without starting reboot cycles. Far better than before. I will test it the next few days. I attached the SqueezeIRApplet.lua-file. On the leftmost part of each line I commented everything out using -- that might do some settings-savings. The -- LOOK HERE comment marks the load file to and from server parts. I hope you get through my mess... The option Purge Cash won't work. Also not implemented is the idea of loading from the server and only fall back to the local copy in case of an emergency. I hope this helps improving SqueezeIR. P.S.: I dont't know if it works well on SqueezePlay-Windows due to the file location. I used the applet's path name in the controller (see new local variable APPLETDIR). I tried a little bit more and implemented the function for deleting the local cache files. Therefore I also introduced a new string called NONE, which needs to be added to the strings file. The controller runs stable without problems. I tried it in various combinations, but there is still some testing required... The memory issues seems to be solved. One more idea for improvement would be to only load those commands from the lirc files needed, if not already implemented. Still not in the code is the idea of choosing the default config file repository (local or server) for the reason I once mentioned. Hope this helps. +---+ |Filename: SqueezeIRApplet.lua.final.txt| |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=11314| +---+ -- chincheta0815 chincheta0815's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=42904 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79524 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: WaveInput for Linux
Again take one step at a time. After checking privileges - you should now check what ALSA devices can be used to record PC audio with normal OpenSuse application. If necessary reconfigure ALSA to make sure there is a device and it has the correct volume. To record audio from PC speaker first start an application playing audio - I typically use an internet radio. Then start a Recorder application or Audacity and click record/monitor button to check the levels histogram which should move in accordance with the music you hear from PC speakers. Start with Capture enabled and the default device in the recorder. If the levels do not move then you have to 1. Stop recorder and check device being used to record then start recorder again 2. open alsamixer or amixer and adjust audio/gain levels for relevant devices to make sure they are at 100%. Check capture is enabled. 3. If recording meters do not move then stop recorder and change recording device and repeat steps 1-3 until you have tested all devices. If no device seems to record - you need to check your Alsa configuration. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49584 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I followed the advice in this thread with my XM internet account. I changed my streaming user name from an email address to a normal user ID.
