Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
Confirmed BoomX2 fix works with the note from touchstone to add the space at the end of the fourth change. Also, on ReadyNAS NV+ (sparc), the path to the .par file is /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/SuperDateTime/lib/ and the file is Plugins-SuperDateTime-Plugin.par. Opened with Stuffit on OSX with no issues and extracted/edited plugin.pm. Early signs are good but can I suggest an icon is created for the 'All Services' entry for consistency? Also, the plugin still reports v0.2.0 to SBS in the plugins tab of Settings making it think another upgrade is availabe! Both of these are really minor though and don't affect any of the well thought through new functionality. As an aside, how many stations will be on the full list? It would be good to know if there any problems with its operation, even though the station list is not yet fully populated, as I intend to grace the next release with a version 1.0.0 label. Provided no problems are reported with this release then the only change will be the addition of the full station listing. I have been made aware of a bug in icon handling when a live stream is added to favourites in Squeezeplay. I can't change the icon handling, but I can offer a work around: If added to favourites from the 'Now playing' window, the favourite entry will carry a BBC iPlayer icon. For reasons not known to me, the stream's icon is not carried across to favourites in this circumstance. The default icon chosen is the BBC iPlayer's icon, on whose back this plugin rides. A work around is to add to favourites directly from the browse list, and not the 'Now playing' window. That can be done, I discover, by highlighting the live stream in the browse list, and pressing a 'more' or 'plus' button to give a context menu. The favourite item will then carry the correct icon. Please post a note of any problems encountered, or of any other comments/observations. -- mrw mrw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38299 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87894 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Use SBS "Network Test" to separate problems associated with WaveInput with general Network problems. There may be a router traffic issues. You said your SBS system and player are both connected using wireless. Most Live internet radio streams (which are usually less than 320kbps) will go straight from internet to router and router to Radio. It needs 1 low speed wireless hops. Flac file from SBS to player will again only have two wireless hops but higher speed from SBS to router and router to player - Flac is typically needs about 700kbps so playing file will need two hops but SBS is control of the stream. Waveinput will need 3 wireless hops. It will need a stream from internet to router and router to PC. Then Flac from PC to router and router to player. If internet stream being played on a browser has some video content (e.g. ads) this could add up to higher traffic. There may be other issue that come into play such as blocking traffic or router traffic management. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35718 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Wave Input plugin v1.00
Okay, I am fairly confident I solved this one now. I only had about 2 rebufferings all day of using wave input. I don't know why this only happens with wave input and not with live radio streams or streaming from my own music collection, but maybe it was the size of the streams that wave input uses? The problems seems to stem from the use of wireless-N on my network. I turned Wireless-N off on my router and set it for Network-G only (which the Squeezebox Boom uses.) That seemed to do the trick. It's been running pretty flawlessly ever since. So thanks guys for your help. I guess I can keep using Wave Input at the expense of not upgrading any of my PC's to N. -- rrand rrand's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=47295 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35718 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
