If you like to configure the layout of the style, you probably want to
also install Custom Clock Helper plugin in Squeezebox Server.

Custom Clock requires License Manager applet to be installed and you
need a commercial license to fully utilize its features.

Hi Erland,

I bought a license for Custom Clock and installed the license manager.
The Plugin in Squeezebox Server tells me that I have a (temporary)
license until 2012-01-01. I bought a one year license.

As expected, license manager software is a source of trouble, at least
in my life. That was the reason I hesitated. Now to the symptoms:

The license manager on my Squeezebox Touch doesn't believe that Custom
Clock is licensed. I already rebooted the Server, powercycled the
Touch, reinstalled license manager, but the scrolling license message
doesn't disappear.

What can I do to fix it?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Album doesn't appear in Spotify 3rd Party App, does in official App not on Spotify?!

2011-12-18 Thread mwoodroof

Hi there, have just got a Spotify Premium trial and am trying out the
Squeeze apps. Seems to me that the official one is not as good as the
Triode 3rd Party one (mainly cos the official one doesn't work on my SB
3, I also can't get it to work on my SB Radio, but it also seems like
the 3rd Party one has more features so I have not bothered to try to
hard yet!)

However, I have found one very odd problem - when I search the official
app on my SB Radio for Lemon Jelly, it shows the album lemonjelly.ky.
However the 3rd party app does not find this album. Oddly, searching
the main Spotify software on my PC does not come up with this album
either! Does this mean it is not on Spotify and the official app is
playing up by finding it?!

Very odd.

Also, any ideas why the official app will not play on my SB Radio? It
seems to work, finds stuff, but when you hit play, it is just silent.
It does force connection to mysqueezebox.com when I start it, instead
of connecting through my Logitech Media Server on my PC.

Any thoughts from seasoned Squeeze/Spotify users much appreciated!

I don't get an alphabet bar but instead I get a dot bar that you can

Does the list completely load? These lists can be long, thousands of
items (at least for me) so it can take a while.

What is your server running on? OSX?

Server is: HP 1GHz, 1TB disk, 500MB RAM, running www.Vortexbox.org
(including SB-server and a lot of other goodies).

I have no problems with normal use of SB. All menus and long lists load
fine although this list in particular loads in steps and produces some
waiting. But this is fine. The problem would disappear if I could jump
to a desired start-letter of an artist (or other type of list). But I
think Erland is on top of this.

I'm surprised that you cannot see the lists that Erland describe. They
should be std lists in Dynamic Playlist (as I understand it). I think I
have never used these list.

I don't know what a dot-bar is. Can you explain this?

What I see in long lists, is a vertical band spanning the entire height
of the screen (iPod/iPhone), with letters to touch, that will take you
to artists/albums/Years starting with that letter that you select in
this bar. This is what I call a silk-bar as it is somewhat
transparent.

In short if I go to My Music/Artists I see this band, and can click it,
and jump to artists starting with the desired letter. But if the band is
part of a deeper user-selection in a Dyn. Playlist, it does not work and
jump as advertised.

It could be that the official App finds it because it's in another

I had only added Style and Variety prefs because I didn't know how to make

whereas filters are variable. I've come up with a way of doing it, but it may
be clumsy if you have a lot of filters defined. Have to click on the filter

I've just released DynamicMix version 1.2, which now supports all player prefs

The temporary license will switch to the 1 year license after I've
reviewed the payment, this usually happens within a day after the
payment, the status is updated the next day or earlier if you push the
Refresh button in License Manager settings page in SBS.

It's also important to realize that there are:
1. A License Manager plugin which have to be installed in SBS (which
you do the purchase through)
2. A License Manager applet which have to be installed on the Touch
through Settings/Advanced/Applet Installer menu.

Some troubleshooting tips:

1.
Have you installed the License Manager applet directly on the Touch
through Settings/Advanced/Applet Installer ?

2.
Try hitting the Settings/Advanced/License Manager/Refresh menu on the
Touch, does that help ?

3.
If that doesn't help, check if the License Manager 40 character
identity shown on the Touch in Settings/Advanced/License Manager
matches the one shown in SBS License Manager settings page or in the
receipt which you hopefully should have got from me via mail now as I
just reviewed the payments received so far today.

If the identities doesn't match it generally means that either SBS or
Touch is connected to another mysqueezebox.com identity. This can
sometimes happen if you have changed your mysqueezebox.com mail
address, in that case, mail me the current mysqueezebox.com mail
address together with the 40 character license identity that's shown on
your Touch display.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Tunein local radio - only works for USA?

As far as I can tell, with the help of a few other kind souls, the
Tunein local radio feature only works correctly for US locations - any
other location just returns a country listing - that's at mysb.com.

If you connect tunein via your local LMS server then local return a
listing based on your ISP address.

select the quality of the encoding as well as the bitrate)?

I'd also like an intermediate setting between 128 and 96, for mobile

As flvstreamer is the main engine of Radio Downloader - you could
try one of the other front end such as from Beebotron which uses

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2011-12-18 Thread pippin

iPeng splits the setting between mobile and WiFI use so you _always_
have to set this in iPeng or iPeng overrules the server setting.

This is mainly to satisfy Apple's requirement that for mobile networks
the bitrate must not be higher than 128kbps (which is the default in
iPeng).
You can set this in iPeng's player settings (hit the blue on the
current player item in the list of players/servers).

On the available limits, iPeng doesn't even allow the 96kbps, I don't
know why but you are the first one to find something lower than 128knps
useful.

I don't think an intermediate step between 128kbps and 96kbps makes any
sense so I'm not going to do that, the difference can not be very high
WRT both bandwidth requirement and quality gain.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Bandcamp, Pluggin, App, Store ?

2011-12-18 Thread Michael Herger
I see this is limited to SBS 7.6 or greater.
Is there anything in particular that prevents it working with 7.5.6?

Time: I didn't test it with anything prior to 7.6. Feel free to modify the
xml file and tell me whether it works :-)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ResetVolume and 7.6.1

2011-12-18 Thread Nando1970

I've updated to LMS 7.7.1 and had the same problem. It turned out I had
to manually add its repository

http://www.koldware.net/SlimStuff/repodata.xml

as additional repository in the Plugin tab of the web interface, then
select ResetVolume, then restart.

Too bad it's not in the recommended list, as my wife cannot tolerate my
bedtable Boom without it.

It might be worth to vote for it here:
