Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)
I have been having problems with occasional breakups of Listen Again programs for the last few days. Typically I'll get one or two breaks during 30 minutes of playback. My BBCiPlayer settings for stream preferences are AAC - FlashAAC - FlashMP3 - WMA. Note - I am located outside of the UK. The programs that I have had problems with are AAC (when I check the program info whilst playing). I have also noticed problems in the logs with WMA but it's not clear to me when those files are being played instead of AAC. My server logs have lots of entried like this.. I have checked my router logs and I can't see any problem there. The player (Squeezebox 3) is connected via Wifi to a router with a manually configured ip address, the LMS 7.7.2 rc1 server (running on Vista) is also connected via wifi (reserved ip address in DHCP). Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)
The people over at Reciva have been grappling with a BBC problem for the last few days - specifically on demand wma issues. Maybe the following might be useful to help clear up wma issue here: QUOTE In laymans terms, for the last few days the BBC have been offering their UK-Only streams to international listeners, hence international listeners have been having problems. To go into more depth: Taking yesterdays Archers as an example :- If you are in the UK: Your radio tries to connect to the url: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/again/b01dtlv0.asx This in turn redirects you to: http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/4/asx/b01dtlv0/iplayer_intl_stream_wma_uk_concrete which is a playlist and gives the final url: mms://wm-acl.bbc.co.uk/wms/radio4fmcoyopa/radio_4_fm_-_monday_1900.wma This should all work fine. If you are not in the UK: Your radio tries to connect to the same url: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/again/b01dtlv0.asx This in turn redirects you to: http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/4/asx/b01dtlv0/iplayer_intl_stream_wma_lo_concrete (NOTE THE 'UK' PART OF THE URL NEAR THE END HAS CHANGED) which is a playlist and gives the final url: mms://wm-acl.bbc.co.uk/wms2/radio4fmcoyopa/radio_4_fm_-_monday_1900.wma You will notice that this is exactly the same as the final url in the UK example above, and here lies the problem. The 'ACL' part of that final url means that the BBC are filtering it to UK listeners only, yet it's being offered to everyone. I don't think messages like below are related to the BBC issues. I think it could be some local network issue. I suggest restart router and LMS and see if the message returns when playing any non BBC AAC stream (e.g. last menu in SomaFM App provides access to AAC format of streams) Code: [12-03-27 09:47:28.5701] Slim::Networking::IO::Select::__ANON__ (147) Error: Select task failed calling Slim::Web::HTTP::sendStreamingResponse: illegal file descriptor or filehandle (either no attached file descriptor or illegal value): at /C:\PROGRA~1\SQUEEZ~1\server\SqueezeSvr.exeSlim/Networking/IO/Select.pm line 150. ; fh=Slim::Web::HTTP::ClientConn=GLOB(0xa935a64) 2. For non UK user the BBC has problem with on demand WMA streams. For me all stations fail but some users claim success with station such as Radio 1. Using on Demand AAC-FlacAAC-WMA should avoid this problem as long as Allow transcoding is checked and you clicked Apply and that AAC transcoding is working on your. There is no point using the Flash/MP3 options as this format is not available to non UK users. I suggest you testing that AAC transcoding is working on your system by A. Try playing the AAC stream such as http://www.somafm.com/illstreet32.pls B. I suspect the users reporting some success may be UK based or else Reciva is somehow processing the BBC URLs and changing the wm-acl in URLs to wm to get around the BBC problem. Also on the Receivarefuge forum there is implication that Triode's BBC iPlayer plugin uses an unofficial feed to get iPlayer program info - this is not the case. The plugin uses the official XML feed which AFAIK is the same as the one Reciva uses. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)
Hi Thanks for this excellent plugin. I have a problem making it run. I just saw the selftest is a bit crippled at the moment, but that is not all. I cannot make my boom play the song. I keep getting Timed out waiting for data. I can see the songs (but it is somewhat flacky). I can get to part where I have a playlist with songs, but alas no sound. Actuelly the indicator moves forward within the chosen song. I am not sure if the error is at spotify or at my installation. My network is fine (40/40), and the rest is working fine. Question is, have I wrecked it?
