Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Yes, beta versions run on the device in parallel to the "official" one. Writing the protocol alone is a task. It's more or less to write down a list of everything you can do through the NowPlaying screen, the MultiPlayer control (only top level), including hidden features plus synchronisation and all volume control. I might have forgotten a few things. pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I could possibly run more versions as i have a desktop with 2 OS and one virtual machine on one of them and my server , I do work 500-600h overtime each year and live more in hotels than home so the time scale would be geological if I tests things :-/ If you ever tackle this systematically i suggest you enlist 6 volunteers (one for each version ) and have a test protocol . But the iPad device itself ? i never seen how you run beta versions on them , if you want some unsystematic beta testing done (which you say is inefficient unless your beta group is very big ,but anyway ) and is it possible to have a beta installed at the same time as the current version ? If you agree to do that (test each player function at least a dozen time with all these server versions and all different players that are available for the respective server version), fine, then it's probably only a week of work for me. But from a testing and reliability standpoint this is the biggest single change I can probably make to iPeng. The testing alone makes it a complete no-go for me right now and beta testers are generally no help here since they just use the App and don't do systematic testing, they currently only find like 10% or so of the bugs discovered in iPeng. The Logi App only supports server versions 7.5.4 and newer and only uses a small subset of the state information iPeng uses. pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Windows Media Center .WTV file plugin?
Hi triode et al I am looking for a plugin that will read .wtv files (as output by Windows Media Center when it records TV, and stored on a Windows Home Server share in the usual way) to allow Squeezebox to play the audio-only from these files, a la the youtube plugin. A search on these forums of wtv yields nothing - so I am not too hopeful... Has anyone investigated this please? iPeng on startup defaults to the view where you left it. However, a lot of views are not immediately available because they are server-provided (e.g. all the "Apps" and plugin menus as well as e.g. "New Music"). If that happens, iPeng defaults to the closest one of the already existing menus, which is often facebook due to the sort order. You can't assign a profile to a menu item as that would make the current profile change as you scrolled through the menu. But you can assign a profile to a menu and make that menu a sub-menu off the main menu, eg, If you had a main menu with Lounge & Bedroom on it you could link those to a Lounge menu and a Bedrrom menu which could change the current profile accordingly. Alternatively, you could bypass the main menu and set the Lounge and Bedroom Menus as the entry points for each porfile so that you had a different main menu depending on the current profile. It's your choice really. virx71 wrote: > > SECONDLY AN EXPLANATION AND AN IDEA: > I have several submenus in which I have several macros which involve > different remotes actions at the same time > and some playerActions which happen to be replicated several times: in > keys, in menu events and in IPevents as well. > > I was wondering why not creating another object called "macro" defined > in its own section where we could define each single macro > only once and then call it whenever needed. Now that IS a consequence of the very, very basic xml parser that I use as the controller does not have one built in. However, your numbering does not have to be sequential, you could do 10, 20, 30 etc which would make inserting extra codes easier. virx71 wrote: > FOURTH, ON IR-O-IP: > The "Update Configuration link" is not working, I tried several times to > use it without success. > Not sure if it's a bug or I'm missing something in the xml configuration > to enable it. > It would be really useful to update all my controllers remotely with > just one click! > > A few ideas: > In IPevents it would be great to have order parameters as well with the > same flexible definition described above. > > I imagined also it would be great to organize tables differently: > 2 3 4 5 10 repeat times are needed only for volumes control and count > times could be decided inside the IPevents > definition by a count parameter as in actions elements.
