pippin wrote: I second the recommendation about the ClearRescan. Flush Cache in iPeng only makes iPeng re-read everything from the server. But that will not clean up duplicates. Duplicates are always in the library itself, iPeng doesn't aggregate different states from the past, it always only uses a single snapshot of the library so if you are seeing dupes, they have been there the last time iPeng read this data. Hey thanks for your suggestions about clearing and rescanning. I've done this both on iPeng in my iPad and also on LMS on my Mac Mini Server. However, I still have duplicates, all over the place ... I have checked various ones of these against iTunes, and none of them are duplicated on iTunes. Some of the album art that is duplicated are empty, and some are duplicates of the artwork with exactly the same tracks inside the album. Weird ... Thanks. doesn't actually help much to compare to itunes, as itunes is using the art it has stored in its own internal database rather than the art in the tags (or a .jpg in the album folder). Try opening some of the duplicate art files in mp3tag. Right click a file that seems to have duplicates and select extended tags. What does the panel show about the art. If only one art file, should show 1/1. If more than one can show 1/2, 1/3, etc. Download mp3tag here: http://www.mp3tag.de/en/download.html p.s. I'm not sure what you mean by seeing duplicate art. Maybe you are seeing duplicate SONG files. That's a different issue I suspect, and probably related to playlists containing links to songs, and use of itunes integration, etc. Do you use itunes integration? garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Posted a similar question i the Touch forum as a follow-up. Trying a more detailed question here. I just got a Denon DRA F-109 receiver. The remote control is called RC-1163. I can't find a conf file for that remote. Maybe there is a compatible one that will give me at least volume up/down working with IR blaster and Touch. Have not found one yet. I also have a SB3 which will allow me to record the signals but is there a way of convert the raw data into a lirc conf file as needed by the Touch? I actually can't explain the empty albums, I really thought that would go away with the rescan. Are you sure you did a Clear Rescan and not just the incremental Look for new and changed music? The duplicates, if they are completely identical probably mean that the server has two different paths to your music. Typical reasons are that you configure both iTunes import and a music folder and the music folder is specified in a different way than the iTunes path (e.g. though aliases or symlinks). Another reason could be that you simply have your music on your machine twice, are you sure it's identical files? pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Someone recommend me an Android app for my 10 tablet to control my sqeezebox please
Tried the free logitech one and a couple of things became obvious as problems to me:- 1) It really didn't use the 10 screen to best effect. 2) Moving around your music and playlist is a little painful. 3) You couldn't even re-organise the order of your playlist. With so much screen space I'd ideally like a playlist on the right, and the browser on the left. And you can just drag tracks across from the browser into your playlist. And indeed even drag the songs in your playlist into different orders... Anyonre care to recommend me an android app that will make good use of 10 of screen, and give a good friendly interface? Thanks... If I try to browse around in my music library, the browser session constantly times out and I get an error message on screen; 14568 I used to have the same problem with an old version of the LMS Web interface as well. It seems to me that the code fails to keep the session alive long enough so the browser times out. This is of course related to the fact that my music database contains over 100.000 tracks. But still, it would be nice to play around with LMSnewGUI if I could only make stay alive. Can you help? Are you sure there's nothing wrong with your server - it can't be this slow. I have about 65000 tracks in my library, and the NAS runs on a lowly Celeron CPU. Startup time is 8 seconds (!) You are definitely running an ancient version of LMS (which still uses mysql - not a good idea in a resource-limited environment), so you should definitely upgrade it and switch to sqlite (standard in the newer versions of LMS - no more mysql). Same is true for the perl version. This alone will result in a significant speed-up. The operation shown on your screenshot only queries the LMS for 500 albums, and should have a timeout of 30 seconds. It takes 2 seconds to complete on my setup. Even if I increase the timeout, I suspect you won't have much fun using the GUI unless you improve you server's performance...
