[SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC iPlayer keeps rebuffering
Hi I am experiencing a few issues with the BBC iPlayer plugin which is firstly a fantastic plugin and secondly has been working very well for over 5 years. I don't believe anything has changed on my network. I am running LMS 7.7.2 with plugin v1.1.12 I have tied BBC2, BBC3, BBC4 and BBC5 and they all play and work for a bit but they keep rebuffing every 30 seconds or so. I have completed a line speed test a few times and it would appear that I have a fairly constant 20mb download. I have tried other normal radio stations, such as Heart or Jack FM and neither of these does it, it just seems to be BBC iPlayer that is effected. I wonder if anyone could assist me trying to work out if I have some issue in LMS or if it is a BBC issue - I don't really now where to start. Is there any logging that I can look at all? Sorry if I haven't given enough information or that I don't know the inner workings of LMS or the plugin - they have both just worked for me! Anyway, any help or advice would be really appreciated. Many thanks Neil nfshirley's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1378 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101756 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC iPlayer keeps rebuffering
I have had the same issue recently. LMS 7.8.0, plugin 1.1.10, with a much slower internet connection. Solved by changing the plugin settings and removing the FlashAAC and Flashmp3 options. Ithe the Flash in the name genuinely uses Adobe Flash, it is possible that that some of mysettings to cut down use of Flash on Web pages have affected its use in iPlayer. danco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=210 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101756 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I have been experiencing the same for the last few days, using LMS 7.8.0 and iplayer v1.2.12 under fedora 20. Nothing has changed on my setup in the last week and s incenumerous people are reporting a problem I suspect the BBC are the problem (unless we are all on the same ISP but I doubt it, I am with TalkTalk business). bloodycat's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34835 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101756 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Same here, particularly bad this morning. Tried Tunein and same there with the AAC stream. As stated earlier changing to WMA fixes it so it sounds like a BBC problem. slartibartfast's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=35609 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101756 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I'd be happy to accept contributions (i.e. working code to be included), though. However, I still plan to investigate why remote tracks are not displayed properly, and fix this (unless is turns out this would be a major effort). Can't promise a timeline for this, though, as I'm rather busy ATM. That's fine - I understand, however in the screenshot on Google Code 'My Apps' is in the dropdown list, is this something that was removed, as I don't see it? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC iPlayer keeps rebuffering
Thanks to everyone for replying, it sounds very much like the issue is with the BBC's iPlayer service and that I should wait a while before I start changing everything to see if I can resolve it. Although, I am tempted to remove the AAC and Flash settings that 'danco' mentioned and see if it changes anything. Hmm, to tinker or not to tinker. Thanks again though everyone, it is very pleasing, in a strange way, for it not to be just me! nfshirley's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1378 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101756 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

That surprised me since I swear that I had crashes on the Test2 version before. Maybe I hadn't rebooted and cleared everything out (or maybe a Windows update finally did something). Test2 did have that runaway CPU process (maxed out a single core) but Test3 so far doesn't seem to be doing that. I will let you know about stability of Test3... Thanks! wt0 wrote: Don't know if you've found info on it yet, but SlimBrowse is the set of commands the SqueezePlay interface and the more full featured controller apps use to access the server menus instead of (or in addition to) the documented (artists, albums, etc.) CLI commands. I guess they're not technically part of the CLI command set so they're not documented at all. The apps don't usually have to build these commands themselves since the commands to use for each item in the menu are transmitted to the controller with the menu. They allow access to certain menus that the CLI commands don't, but you cannot customize the tags they return. To see them, use any player or controller with the SqueezePlay interface (Touch, Radio, etc..) and turn on cometd logging on the server. Interesting, thanks for the info. Fortunately, in the meantime, I've been given access to some code which illustrated how to get the server menus. Modifying the code to run in my environment (plus some reverse engineering) and writing some glue code (e.g. transforming the slim widget definitions to javascript GUI framework widgets) enabled me to create a LMS menu allowing access to LMS settings and plugins (including their GUI, if it's Slim- and not web based). It's not complete (I left out some widgets no plugin seemed to use), and I didn't investigate apps at all, but for the plugins tested (Server Power Control, SmartMix, TrackStat according to some poster), it works quite well. Before receiving the code, I've also implemented a track context menu (using info items), which is less sophisticated, but works well for simple commands (e.g. SmartMix controls) [ extGUI4LMS - an alternative web interface: 'forum' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?98186-Announce-Alternative-Web-Interface-(beta)) / 'homepage' (http://code.google.com/p/extgui4lms/) ] Roland0's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56808 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98186 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

If you do tinker, it's easy enough to set things back to the original. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Smart Mix plugin
Hi Michael, I am using my android devices (pad phone) to control my squeezebox touches. The main app I use is squeeze commander I also use the logitech app if the other isn't connecting well. I have been using SmartMix for almost 12 months now and both apps control SmartMix very well. I noticed in the last month that Squuezebox Commander is no longer able to control SM in as much as if I open the SM menu and select on of my mixes it just doesn't respond. I have also tried the Squeezebox app and SM also doesn't respond to it. In all other ways both apps have fuul functionality with the SBT. It is only SM that no longer responds. SM works fine if I use the SBT screen interface. Could this be something that has change within SM, or have two independant apps both stopped being compatible with SM at the same time? Cheers, and thanks for SmartMix! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Smart Mix plugin
But I don't want to set artist_start_year, rather something like song release year and include a few swedish only hits. Try the hotttness parameter: it's an index of popularity and recentness. Eg. Lorde might be hottt, as it's popular and recent, but the Beatles are much more popular overall, with lower recentness. Thus they might have a lower hotttness. Unfortunately a quick search of the.echonest.com's documentation didn't bring up the official description of hotttness. I hope you get it anyway :-). -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
