The changes (Audio Factory) going on behind the scenes in the BBC are a
bit of a mystery, but I'm impressed by the rapidity with which on demand
programmes now become available after broadcast - minutes whereas before
it was hours. I gather this is a result of the BBC transferring its
hosting to Amazon Media Services. I'm also pleased that the xml listings
used by BBCiPlayer now seem to be routinely complete and up to date.

After leaving my odroid a while, sometimes XBMC home menu screen was
corrupted with some doubling images, lines and a mouse pointer
appearing.System was responsive and I could reboot system without big
efforts.
I realized that this is happening when Ubuntu Software Updater

seems to be solved.
I'm not sure if everybody has this issue, or if this related to my
settings(using Amber Skin), maybe you should disable it by default on

what version of VB? VB2.3? If so, the software SB player in the VB is
squeezelite. You can control this with iPeng just like any other SB
player. But you do need to make sure that iPeng is connected to the LMS
server running on your VB (whatever name you gave LMS music library
should show up in iPeng as possible to select). Do you otherwise have
the VB playing through your AVR and you just can't control it with
ipeng, or have you not got it playing yet. If the latter, you might
need to go to the vortexbox forum to get help with actually getting the
VB software player set properly.

Apart from that I would like to ask first what your actual problem is.
How to use it is by launching iPeng :) if your iThingy is on the same
network as the VB and you've got the VB up and running with players and
all that should be all you need to do.

understand. Yes, your issue is that you need to setup squeezelite as a
player in the VB. The vortexbox forum would be the place to ask for help
on this. Search the forum and wiki as well as the basics are already
answered somewhere. I don't use squeezelite in the VB so I can't really
help. In the Vortexbox webGUI (accessed via browser) there is a
configure player button. Click on this and there is a page with info
and instructions for setting up your squeezelite player to work via USB
out.

clarification. be a bit careful when reading about Vortexbox Player at
any vortexbox wiki. Before VB 2.3, there was a VortexboxPlayer *or* one
could install squeezelite. With VB2.3, the VortexboxPlayer option was
removed and the only software player included with the VB install is
squeezelite. click on the configure player VB setup button and you
should get all the info you need.

I think you should try tcutting's latest update, 5.10.2, found here:
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?14327-Announce-SuperDateTime-Current-Date-Temperature-and-or-Baseball-Screensaverp=798775viewfull=1#post798775.
Don't just replace the plugin.pm, but replace everything with the files
in the zipped update. Note that this uses WU exclusively and therefore
requires you to obtain a free API Key from WU and enter it in the SDT
settings.

Also, BoomX2 has worked to recreate the original SDT that uses both WU
and weather.com data. See get.amped's comments in here

Unfortunately, putting in the new plugin.pm crashes SDT.

 Any ideas?

I would recommend to copy the SDT plugin folder from

Mini/Library/Caches/Squeezebox/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/

to

Mini/Library/Application\ Support/Squeezebox/Plugins/

as the plugins in this location always supersede the ones downloaded by
lms (just remember to remove it once there is a regular SDT update
available)

Mine runs fine using the latest lms 7.9 build on MacOS X 10.10.1 btw :)

A switch to change between AM/PM and european timepattern would be
 great. Have a good weekend.

I went back and checked my near-term weather displays, and yes I see the
same.
In looking at the Hourly forecast results, it returns 'pop' (probability
of precipitation) in finer increments, so this seems to be correct.

What is the european timepattern? would that be hh:mm with hh 01-24?

I mean time displayed as hh:mm (17:56).

Code:

$wetData{1}{'forecastTOD'} =
($hourlyfore[5]-{'FCTTIME'}-{'weekday_name_abbrev'}) . ' ' .
($hourlyfore[5]-{'FCTTIME'}-{'hour'}) . ':' .
($hourlyfore[5]-{'FCTTIME'}-{'min'});

And day/month/year as 5. Dezember 2014, but we dont need it in SDT, I
think. Really nice might be an translation table for the weekdays in the
strings-file. If you implement it I could complement the german
translations if you cannot find any.

I’m confused now.

Phred in post 2906 suggests I try tcutting’s latest update with “a free

Copperstate in 2910 says to move the plugin somewhere else.

I think I’ll try your suggestion first, Copperstate, as you seem to have

Copperstate, I tried moving the plugin as you suggested. SDT runs, but I
can't see anywhere where I can change its settings. My two Classics are
just showing a blank screen when in screensaver mode.

Are you using the updated plugin.pm file? That's what I've left in

Mine runs fine using the latest lms 7.9 build on MacOS X 10.10.1 btw :)

It's always annoyed me that the second line in Line 1 2 is left
justified wile the first line is centered. While we've got the plugin
code open, is it possible to make line 2 centered as well?

I've worked around it up to now by padding the format string with
spaces, but it's not always quite centered this way.

I know this is a nit-picky thing, and I wouldn't want it to get in the
way of getting the plugin fully working again :)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] WaveInput Setup Troubles

If you can arecord from the Wolf audio line in - there is no need for
any Pulseaudio or snd-aloop complications.

If you want WaveInput to stream a format other than 44.1kHz/16bit - you
need to modify it to tell LMS that you are using a different format.

That is true, but I believe that the Wolfson card doesn't support
multi-track recordings. AKA if I try to run multiple instances of
arecord on the same card, I'll get errors. That's why I'm trying to fine
a way to pass it off somewhere else.

What are you talking about ? I don't understand about multitrack in this
context. If a signal comes down a pair of wires and appears as a stream
of bytes - it can be sent through LMS - it's a matter of the right
wrapping. I think you are getting your layers of tech mixed up but I
may be wrong since you haven't explained what you are trying to do

That's interesting. I remember encountering a bug a while ago where a

probably why I don't send the id unless the command specifically needs

And day/month/year as 5. Dezember 2014, but we dont need it in SDT, I
think. Really nice might be an translation table for the weekdays in
the strings-file. If you implement it I could complement the german
translations if you cannot find any.

I am working the time settings. I've implemented a switch in the
basic.html. I've implemented the logic on the sunrise and sunset fields,
and is working. I need to add the logic to the nearterm forecasts which
use hourly results from the wunderground query. I've also changed the
10-day results to short weekday names.
Another modification I've made is the option to use the wunderground
icons (for Touch/Radio/Controller). This is also a setting in the
basic.html (SDT settings). There is a pull-down for icon type which you
can select local (the ones currently built in to the plugin), or
select the various sets of icons that wunderground provides from their
site.
Per another suggestion, I'm updating the version strings - it's easy to
miss, because they are set in a couple of places

For your weekday translations, I'm sorry but that's a little beyond my
capabilities :-). The strings file is currently used just for the .html
settings - I wouldn't know how to implement that into the main
Plugin.pm.

I hope to have the updated version out later tonight.

I have been running TIDAL via ickstream the last few days. The Search

Surprise strings still in DOS - thought I fixed.
There are 11 different icon sets available from wunderground. If you
search their site under API an documentation there is a page which shows
what the various icon sets look like.
I agree with your knots comment - that's the way it was so I didn't

[SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicIP not archiving some tracks

and finger printed except that one song in the case of Pink Floyd none
of the songs validated. I tried removing all of the tags from the Robert
Plant song including extended tags to no avail.
I notice in the text.log for MusicIP that it is frequently not
connecting with the server , and yet some tracks validate still.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver

2014-12-05 Thread Paden

Hey tcutting, many thanks for this!
However I'm getting this error repeatedly:

[14-12-06 01:26:13.7004] Slim::Networking::IO::Select::__ANON__ (131)
Error: Select task failed calling
Slim::Networking::Async::HTTP::_http_read_body: Can't use an undefined
value as an ARRAY reference at
/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/SuperDateTime/lib/Plugins/SuperDateTime/Plugin.pm
line 3062.

This is on the Max2Play Odroid, any suggestions?

Cheers, Paul

There are 11 different icon sets available from wunderground. If you

Cool thanks; I played around with them and I still like the local ones
best (for the Radio anyway). Also, a nit that at this point is probably
not worth fixing unless it's trivial: if you select the WU icons, some
of them are nighttime and others are daytime. The WU web pages do
change accordingly with the time of day. It would be good (again using
the Radio as an example) to use an appropriate daytime or nighttime icon
for the *current* conditions (the bigger icon on the radio) and only the
daytime ones for the subsequent forecast periods, which refer to
next-day and day-after forecasts.

But that's too much work, and already we're at the level of Greg's code
(if not beyond) before Weather.com borked, so we're good.

Awesome.

@tcutting-
Being able to use WU's icons is really a nice upgrade from where we were
before. As more than one person has already pointed out, you've brought
SDT over and beyond where Greg had left it. Seeing the result of your
work makes me somewhat glad weather.com crapped out. Thanks for your
time and improvements.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play Webinterface for Mediaclients (Audioplayer, Squeezeserver, Airplay, XBMC)

I don't have access to my Odroid at the moment, but try to use my exact
parameters.(use your mac address and player name). Forget using USB Dacs
parameters like CARD,Device etc. That did not work for me(I was using
 them with Picoplayer before).
 Use -n PlayerName -m XX:XX:XX:XX -a 80:4 -o hw:1,0, and I believe that
-o hw:1,0 will overwrite the parameter coming from dropdown menu,
 whatever you choose.

Progress! I have sound! However it won't pass a 24/96 signal, and it
sounds a bit flat. I suspect that it may be resampling the signal. I
read elsewhere that hw:0,0 disables resampling, but it won't play
anything with that parameter -- dead silent.

Still, I'm much further ahead now. Anyone have any other suggestions or
comments?

Jason
