Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
Xboom - I had already done a totally fresh install of LMS. Anyway I took your advice and wiped SDT and copied over your latest files. Shows 5.9.19 now (well it does after I realised that despite selecting exit from the LMS icon you still need to shut down the service). I've made some fairly significant changes to the "weather underground" API-based version. # 5.10.4 12/11/14 Significant modifications to the near-term forecasts - more like earlier versions of SDT # which provides TODAY, TONIGHT, TOMORROW, TOMORROW NIGHT (particular ones depend on the current time of day). # # Added ability to get weather in various languages by providing "language code" in settings page. In addition, # allow several abbreviation strings to be set in the setup page to both provide custom abbreviations and to # change the language of these strings ("High", "Low", "TODAY", "TONIGHT", "THIS MORNING", "TOMORROW", "TOMORROW NIGHT", # "Precipitation". # Utilizes "day" and "night" local icons, and added some new local icons. It does - I will likely rebuild a version with more extensive tests during the weekend. BTW, about the need for seek_after_pause, i dont remembre if you tried, but an option is to set stream_length to say, 10. Some players refuse to pause, although they can, when they believe they are playing a live stream. This option make them believe that they play a very large file. It is I think a better option than using seek_after_pause. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Looking for plugin which parses stream for sample rate/bits per sample
I'm up to my eyes with real world and cannot be back to this until next week. You questions need time to look at LMS code as I don't know the answers offhand as you are asking for functionality which AFAICT nobody has done before so it is possible, LMS cannot do it at the moment. IIRC the getConvertCommand2 cannot be called by a plugin ProtocolHandler - the routine the plugin handler calls is tokenizeConvertCommand2. However reviewing that part of the plugin has given me the idea that perhaps the routine Slim::Music::Info::setBitrate (see how it is used in iPlayer plugin parserMetatdata routine) might do the trick in the "new" subroutine of the WAVIN.pm file just after Slim::Music::Info::setContentType. It would probably be quicker to write code and test (with various LMS logging enabled to confirm the action) than to trace LMS code. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102689 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Mucking about with Spotify as although I won't use it a friend will. Is something odd going on? Using an iPod touch and iPeng as a player with a pair of cans. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Software players not automatically re-connecting to LMS
hi usc95, I don't find this is the case. I have a combination of real, piCorePlayer (squeezelite) devices and iPeng on iPad, all connect very reliably. LMS is on a Raspberry Pi (squeezeplug). regards Greg Greg Erskine's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7403 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102699 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] Software players not automatically re-connecting to LMS
I first want to say thank you to the creators and maintainers of the various software squeezebox players on this forum. I have four "real" squeezeboxes (2 SBRs, a boom and a Classic) and four software players (iphone 3gs running ipeng playback, Amazon Fire TV running SB Player and two hacked pogoplugs running Squeezelite) and they are all basically equal in my book. I do have one issue bugging me a bit and wonder what I can do to mitigate it. I have LMS running on a windows 7 nettop that occasionally has interruptions with the network. I don't know exactly what is happening but occasionally, once every two to three months, it will drop off the network and all the squeezeboxes will drop off as well and it will then reconnect and all of the "real" squeezeboxes will reconnect as well. The software squeezeboxes do not reconnect and I have to reboot them to get them started again. Its not that big of a deal but it is kind of annoying when it happens. Are the software players not able to re-establish a connection automatically or is there some setting I should consider? Would moving my LMS to another platform be helpful? I have toyed with installing some flavor of linux on the nettop but I really don't know what I am doing in Linux. The only thing I use the nettop for is running LMS so I could try to do it but I don't know what I am doing and would be dependent on my brother for "tech support". Thanks for any suggestions you may have. usc95's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=59694 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102699 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I use the triode plugin with LMS. Yes, I can synch all my SB devices playing spotify. However, with triode's plugin one can't play DIFFERENT spotify streams on different SB players at the same time. With the official Spotify app, one can play *different* spotify streams at the same time. But the official app only works on TOUCH or RADIO. Spotify mostly streams 320kbs files. Some are 256. I'm very pleased with it. go to spotify's home page to sign up for the premium. I think it is $9.99 per month, but can't recall for sure. *Home:* VortexBox 4TB (2.3) > LMS 7.8 > Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio) *Cottage:* VBA 3TB (2.3) > LMS 7.8 > Touch > Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio) *Office:* Win7(64) > LMS 7.8 > Squeezelite *Spares:* Touch(3), Radio(3), Boom, SB3, CONTROLLER *Controllers:* iPhone4S & iPadAir2 (iPeng8 & Squeezepad), CONTROLLER, or SqueezePlay 7.8 on Win7(64) laptop *Files:* ripping: dbpoweramp > FLAC; post-rip: mp3tag, PerfectTunes; Streaming: Spotify garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102693 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I am not sure how to achieve this in a LMS plugin and I suggested that a parseMeta data is likely hook to provide this info to LMS from a plugin (it si the approach I would look into first) since examining the stream is not possible. However since I ( and AFAICT nobody else) has done this it is an educated guess. I am v. busy at the moment (Christmas, tax returns, end of year audit ...) and haven't got the time to wade thro' LMS to investigate and verify and then give a ready made solution.
