Xboom - I had already done a totally fresh install of LMS. Anyway I took
your advice and wiped SDT and copied over your latest files. Shows
5.9.19 now (well it does after I realised that despite selecting exit
from the LMS icon you still need to shut down the service). Checked log
and my errors are down to:

I've just done this remotely so cannot physically see the display on the

I've made some fairly significant changes to the "weather underground"
API-based version.

# 5.10.4 12/11/14 Significant modifications to the near-term forecasts
- more like earlier versions of SDT
# which provides TODAY, TONIGHT,
TOMORROW, TOMORROW NIGHT
(particular ones depend on the current time of day).
#
# Added ability to get weather in various
languages by providing
"language code" in settings page. In addition,
# allow several abbreviation strings to
be set in the setup page to
both provide custom abbreviations and to
# change the language of these strings
("High", "Low", "TODAY",
"TONIGHT", "THIS MORNING", "TOMORROW", "TOMORROW NIGHT",
# "Precipitation".
# Utilizes "day" and "night" local icons,
and added some new local
icons.

Ok, then my server outage wasn't your problem.
Could maybe be that the caches has become corrupt, could you try to
shutdown LMS and goto LMS cache directory and delete the
PluginCache-MultiLibrary* files and then startup LMS and see if it makes
a difference ?
You can also do the same with the other PluginCache-* files if you have
similar issues with my other plugins.

They are stored in the LMS preference folder. There is no automatic
backup unless you already have a solution for everything in the LMS
preference folder. You will find the location of the LMS preference
folder through LMS Settings/Information tab in the LMS web interface.

Try installing SDT 5.9.19 using the file attached to the post referenced

I'm not familiar with Max2Play, but your log appears to show you have

Based on your log it looks like you have may have more issues than just
SDT. Not sure what is going on, but the first lines related to SQLite
are not due to SDT. If you continue getting those errors you may want
to consider doing a fresh install of LMS.

Based on your logs it also looks like you're running SDT version 5.9.16
from the repository. To update SDT delete the SuperDateTime directory
from "C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins\". Then
unzip the the file attached to the post referenced above in the same
location. Restart LMS and you should be running the Weather.com version
of SDT. Specifically 5.9.19.

Good luck.

Yes sir! It is clear. Thank you very much.
I am enjoying a Mahler symphony as I type. The sound quality is awesome

It does - I will likely rebuild a version with more extensive tests
during the weekend. BTW, about the need for seek_after_pause, i dont
remembre if you tried, but an option is to set stream_length to say,
10. Some players refuse to pause, although they can, when they
believe they are playing a live stream. This option make them believe
that they play a very large file. It is I think a better option than
using seek_after_pause. Xbox, for exemple need that

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Looking for plugin which parses stream for sample rate/bits per sample

2014-12-11 Thread bpa

I'm up to my eyes with real world and cannot be back to this until next
week. You questions need time to look at LMS code as I don't know the
answers offhand as you are asking for functionality which AFAICT nobody
has done before so it is possible, LMS cannot do it at the moment.

IIRC the getConvertCommand2 cannot be called by a plugin ProtocolHandler
- the routine the plugin handler calls is tokenizeConvertCommand2.

However reviewing that part of the plugin has given me the idea that
perhaps the routine Slim::Music::Info::setBitrate (see how it is used
in iPlayer plugin parserMetatdata routine) might do the trick in the
"new" subroutine of the WAVIN.pm file just after
Slim::Music::Info::setContentType. It would probably be quicker to write
code and test (with various LMS logging enabled to confirm the action)
than to trace LMS code.

Yes, they probably are, but from safari and firefox clicking on the
macOs one it does not start downolad but try to edit the binary file,
that was confusing me.

Option click did the job and I've got it.

Too bad, it does not work for me (Leopard 10.4), I got "dyld: unknown

As far as I know it means I'm trying to use a binary compliled for 10.6

I suspect we are confusing I kabob. I said yes and you said no. ;);) We
are all saying the same thing.triodes plugin works with any player but
only with lms. Logitech app works with radio or touch, lms or mysb.com.
But I think my post yesderday or day before also said all this. I kabob,

It is converting on the server to flac, so you need more wireless
bandwidth than for spotify clients such as ipods etc.

Mucking about with Spotify as although I won't use it a friend will.
Is something odd going on?
Using an iPod touch and iPeng as a player with a pair of cans.
If I play something local I have no issue. If I play Spotify I get
severe stuttering.
Local files are all 320kbps MP3.
Spotify settings are for 320kbps which I note are OGG.
Is there any transcoding going on on the server? Otherwise I can't see
why there would be an issue.
Can I increase the buffer size? What could be the cause.
Playing via a wired connection I have no issue whatsoever.

Although it shows in "Active Plugins", I continually get the message

even after I've restarted.
I have plenty of errors :-(
Is anyone able to shed any light?

I'm afraid the plugin uses 127.0.0.1 to access the cli - if this doesn't
work on your machine then can you simplify your configuration to allow
this?

Unfortuately the plugin can't access saved material unless it is in
playlists. The library in more recent spotify clients is not supported
by the plugin I'm afraid.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Software players not automatically re-connecting to LMS

2014-12-11 Thread usc95

I first want to say thank you to the creators and maintainers of the
various software squeezebox players on this forum. I have four "real"
squeezeboxes (2 SBRs, a boom and a Classic) and four software players
(iphone 3gs running ipeng playback, Amazon Fire TV running SB Player and
two hacked pogoplugs running Squeezelite) and they are all basically
equal in my book. I do have one issue bugging me a bit and wonder what
I can do to mitigate it. I have LMS running on a windows 7 nettop that
occasionally has interruptions with the network. I don't know exactly
what is happening but occasionally, once every two to three months, it
will drop off the network and all the squeezeboxes will drop off as well
and it will then reconnect and all of the "real" squeezeboxes will
reconnect as well. The software squeezeboxes do not reconnect and I
have to reboot them to get them started again. Its not that big of a
deal but it is kind of annoying when it happens. Are the software
players not able to re-establish a connection automatically or is there
some setting I should consider? Would moving my LMS to another platform
be helpful? I have toyed with installing some flavor of linux on the
nettop but I really don't know what I am doing in Linux. The only thing
I use the nettop for is running LMS so I could try to do it but I don't
know what I am doing and would be dependent on my brother for "tech
support". Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

Additional tests carried out on the nochecksum version (hdr doesn't

Basically pause and re-position worked correctly when done separately

music and the app crashed.

Hope that helps!

Hi Mnyb,

The link you posted point to a deprecated download, I've found this in
the project page:
http://squeezelite-downloads.googlecode.com/git/squeezelite-osx, but
what I get is a very little (170K) binary file with no extension that I
could not figure how to use.

I've then found this link:
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/4q8dvq20iyz9e/Builds#zlmgtn6uvpqg9 but
seems is not the 'official' squeezelite, litle bit confused.

when you sign up for a premium subscription it can be cancelled anytime.
it is month to month, so the most you're out is a month. I use the
triode plugin with LMS. Yes, I can synch all my SB devices playing
spotify. However, with triode's plugin one can't play DIFFERENT spotify
streams on different SB players at the same time. With the official
Spotify app, one can play *different* spotify streams at the same time.
But the official app only works on TOUCH or RADIO.

Spotify mostly streams 320kbs files. Some are 256. I'm very pleased
with it. go to spotify's home page to sign up for the premium. I think
it is $9.99 per month, but can't recall for sure.

Tried this, but it says I need to set up a template directory before I
can download the libraries.

Is there a back-up made of the Tag Mapping? Mine has been corrupted so
would the server crash have caused this too? I wish I'd taken a simple
text copy when I last updated the mappings:(

Thank you so much for updating the Weather.com portion of SDT, BoomX2!
Works like a champ, and very happy to have my temperature and forecast
back.

The only thing I had to be careful with was making sure I used the
format :4:US.
Originally I just entered myzip code with out :4:US at the end, and I
kept getting Chicago weather (default entry). Once I corrected the
format everything was fine.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotify trial?

2014-12-11 Thread Ikabob

Is there a way to tryout Spotify without committing to a long term
premium subscription?
Also, when using Spotify, can it be synced with all SB devices...using a
Triode plugin?
And, if interested, how do I purchase a premium subscription to Spotify?
Thank you.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Looking for plugin which parses stream for sample rate/bits per sample

2014-12-11 Thread bpa

OP is providing a PCM stream and wants to use WAVEInput plugin to send
stream to players. Format info therefore will not be available as there
is no header. Also OP mentions downsampling and also multiplexed stream
so I am not sure what exactly the origin of the stream except coming in
on Wolfson audio card.
I am not sure how to achieve this in a LMS plugin and I suggested that a
parseMeta data is likely hook to provide this info to LMS from a plugin
(it si the approach I would look into first) since examining the stream
is not possible. However since I ( and AFAICT nobody else) has done this
it is an educated guess. I am v. busy at the moment (Christmas, tax
returns, end of year audit ...) and haven't got the time to wade thro'
LMS to investigate and verify and then give a ready made solution. I
had suggested using formats with headers but OP wanted PCM.

Still getting weird things happening
