Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play Webinterface for Mediaclients (Audioplayer, Squeezeserver, Airplay, XBMC)

2015-07-14 Thread FeelGype

@flysurfer

Thanks for getting back to me on this.
It has been puzzling me for some time - but being a linux newb, I have
little idea of what is going on .

Basically I am using a completely standard installation of
Squeezeplug/max2play, the image was burned two days ago on to a new SD
card on a brand new out of the box Raspberry Pi2 - so I am I am using
Squeezelite 1.8 as a player.

I have not adjusted any settings other than the basic setup for my
network - as I did for my first 2 Pis which play just fine..

I am using an IQaudIO PiDAC+ card, - BUT this issue is present on the
Raspberry Pi's audio out jack as well - so this is not apparently
related to the DAC. It appears to be Raspberry Pi hardware related, as
previously I swapped the OS from a Pi that played correctly onto the
affected PI and the problem stayed with the HARDWARE.

All my hardware is supposedly the same - Raspberry Pi2 and all are
running the same 3.18.7-v7+ #755 SMP PREEMPT Thu Feb 12 17:20:48 GMT
2015 armv7l GNU/Linux.

Something is clearly different on the 3rd and 4th Pis - but I have no
Idea where to look.

I also tried LMS 7.9 last night - but the issue remains the same with
that install as well.

Any ideas would be greatly welcomed.

FG

1.) I'd really like to see Qobuz Playlists and User Playlists
instead of Playlists and Newest Playlists

Yep, makes sense. Will be in the next release.

The second things is about the bitrate/format display. I actually quite
like the way BubbleUPnP does this, especially if you consider that there
are now several choices besides just mp3 and FLAC.

That would be a generic change to the Now Playing screens of the various
players. This is not plugin specific. But as this would require firmware
changes it's rather unlikely going to happen.

What's about LMS ? [emoji14]

I might have said this before. But here's my take: I can look into this
when I find some time. But unfortunately I fear this will be problematic
due to the sheer amount of data caused by hires streams. The SB were not
designed with that high bitrates in online streams in mind. Transporter
you probably have to forget from the start. We've seen buffering issues
with regular flac streaming. Hires would make this even worse.

So... _if_ I'm going to try to implement this, I'll clearly flag it as
an optional, experimental feature. If it works: great. If not: oh well,
bad luck.

@mherger

I think you misunderstood my second request... I did not propose any
major layout change, just replacing the flc, 75 text with the
appropriate values from the Qobuz format ID. Or would even that cause a
major change?

About Hires:

I think adding an additional selction in settings would handle this
nicely. BubbleUPnP does it that way. You can choose your max. resolution
at either mp3, 44.1khz, 96khz or 192khz.
I have Qobuz Sublim now and tested it with Squeezelite and BubbleUPnP
and it works fine, even over WiFi.

Hi,

I am currently working on a new release that supports more
USB-Soundcards with the module patch I provided for Man in a van. Any
testers are welcome! The setting will be selectable in the Raspberry Pi
Settings plugin and is currently in BETA (just update to latest Beta of
Max2Play). The next version of Max2Play will also have the possibilty of
using MPD as music player (as plugin) together with different
webinterfaces like ympd and ampache.

@FeelGype: my first guess would also be the hardware - especially the
power supply.

Only the purchased ones of course.
You get some free tracks with any Qobuz subscription, and currently you
get 20€ in vouchers if you subscribe to Sublim, so you have a little
testing material.

Thanks a lot Michael [emoji6]

CommanderROR, can you stream any album available in HiRes on Qobuz or
only the one you previously bought ?
(Not so clear in Qobuz communication...)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play Webinterface for Mediaclients (Audioplayer, Squeezeserver, Airplay, XBMC)

2015-07-14 Thread FeelGype

@flysurfer

Not the power supply - it checks out - but it *does* look like it is the
only other piece of hardware common to the problem - the wifi adapter!
Everything runs perfectly over wired ethernet.

A strange one - as the wifi connection seemed fine otherwise - no other
communication problems were apparent.

I'll get a replacement Wifi adapter to check it out as I don't want to
mess with my existing (working) systems.

I will confirm one way or the other so that everyone here can benefit.

Thanks again for the time taken to help.
