Post a *full* debug log over here -

I have my LMS install on a linux PC (mint 18.1) and my kodi install is
on a WIN 7 laptop networked to the Linux PC through Samba. I installed
Xsqueeze on the Windows PC and the configuration went well
(automatically found the LMS IP). When I try to open XSqueeze I get an
error saying it can not connect. I think I have to open LMS through
Samba but I am not sure how.

Hi Antonio,
I was similarly concerned about using Exagear, in particular as it is
not open source and thus the future might be unpredictable... That
thought triggered my investigation for other options
.
The trick why you do not see the reference to Quemu is the installation
of the binfmt package. This package allows you to start binaries
compiled for different architectures without explicitly starting an
emulator, it will call the emlator of choice if required

For your other question: No you do not need Msy2Play for running MusicIP
under your raspberry setup. You might need to adapt some details to your
personal setup / operating system, however the principles I described
should be the same. I assume the setup which Henk describes is a
completely different one (different hardware, different operating
system, but he still made it work with few adaptions to the startup
script). As long as you operate under a Debian derived operating system
(e.g. Raspian) you should be fine...

For everybody reading this thread:
Success stories, failures or lessons learnt are appreciated in this
thread as this should be a guidance for more setups, and it should help
the community to prevent investing in unnecessary hardware and
software.
Best,
Frank

What I need to do is modify the plugin to be more pragmatic - if delay
is greater than 3 hours - go back to live. This is effectivley what
1.4.10 is doing (e.g. a 410 error occur but the error handling triggers
a stream restart losing the delay)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce - Song info plugin for FIP radio

2017-02-16 Thread Paul Webster

I found two data source URLs for a lot of the stations. There is a
setting to let you choose which one to use.
The default tends to provide more timely info but is sometimes missing
cover art.
The other nearly always has cover art but sometimes arrives 30 seconds
or more into the song - but is has nothing for JazzaFip or Sous les
jupes.
So the idea is to try both sources and pick the best at that moment.
Easy in theory but does not fit easily into the architecture of the
plugin.

Paul, I've been noticing that about the absence of readouts during the
lovely jazzafip section, too.

However ... if you switch to one of the regional feeds during jazzafip
-- I've been using Strasbourg since our chum lopasilver posted that pdf
of URLs -- you'll find that the artist and song readouts appear.

This seems to be a workaround until your "ideas" take shape, I think.

(And no, my French didn't suddenly improve ... I cheated with Google

Hi Frank,
This is fantastic ! It's also what I was missing to completely move my
LMS to my raspberry.
I was also thinking about exagear, but since they don't give keys for
testing purposes, I was a bit reluctant to buy it without knowing if it
works or not.

I have a few questions because I don't really understand how it works :
- Is Max2play necessary ? I use only my raspberry as a server and not as
a player
- At what moment is Qemu used ? I see that the packages are installed
but I don't see the "emulation" part

BTW, I have around 20k tracks and a PI3, that should run fine.
Thanks a lot

1.4.* uses a different HTTP GET mechanism and so doesn't showlogs for
errors- so the problem may be a case of not displaying error rather than
no error.

Since you are4 in the UK - it seem however you "put radio into standby"
is makling radio stream pause rather than stop. *What is the Resume
setting in WebUI Setting/Player/Audiuo" specifically is it one with
"Pause at Power off" or rather than "Stop on Power off"*
If BBCiPlayer is pausing the stream then technically it is working
perfectly since you pause a stream for a long time.

Yes - Pause behaviour (assuming you have set "Pause on Power off") with
long delays was "fixed" unfortunately didn't expect users pausing for
more then 3 hours.

This is OK but it may change between versions of plugin.

Perhaps there is something wrong with that preset format? Is this the
problem?

Problem for me is to move to 1.5.2 or 3 gives this strange problem with
the radios. It happens virtually every day - as soon as you come out of
standby, which if you don't spot means you are listening to something
for up to 3 hrs old! and must be confusing for anyone at the BBC looking
at the error requests from squeezebox dash streams asking for audio that
is way past 3 hrs old. Hope this makes some sense and thanks for all
the work you do on this for us!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer V1.5.2 beta test

2017-02-16 Thread Dean_Bayliss

OK few things I hadn't thought of there. To clarify - the error
messages are from 1.5.3 not from 1.4.10. 1.4.10 never gives the 410 and
never exhibits the problem. This behaviour started with 1.5.2 and is
also there in 1.5.3. The RPI is without RTC. There are 3 radios. I'm
in the UK SW.

The 410 error is part of the delay preset problem. On 11-Feb-17
11:03:51 am, the radio was taken out of standby. This is done using the
preset. The radio actually wanted to go back to 10 Feb 2017 19:35:53
GMT. It was put into standby at 19:35 the day before. It can't go
back to that time (nor do I want it to!) hence the error in the log and
the message on the screen to say it is in delay mode with lots of
minutes delay (3 hrs). I guess the BBC streaming team will also be
seeing these requests for times that no longer exist. This doesn't
always happen... sometimes taking the radio out of standby in this way
does not produce the error.

In version 1.4.10 - simply going into standby and then out at some other
time takes you straight to the live stream - no delay. So something is
different on the RPI (without RTC) between 1.4.10 and the newer
versions.

The preset is a button on the radio - the url in the LMS for that button
is
- URL:

Are you sure you are running LMS 7.9? Your attached image is what the
WebUI looked like for me in 7.7: Several different "mixer" icons that
kick off different things like Dynamic Playlists, TrackStat,
SQLPlaylists, etc. But in 7.9, all I see is a single M icon, which when
you click on it brings you to a page with all of these options. I
understood from comments on the Forum that this was the normal behavior
for 7.9.

My problem is that Dynamic Playlists isn't showing up on that list when
you click on the M icon for the playlists in the Playlist menu. Also,
please note, I'm talking about the built-in menu at the top level, not
the one under the Custom Browse. (well see my post above: the Custom
Browse Playlist menu can be elevated to the top level. Either way, the
CB version does have the Dynamic Playlists item in the Mixer context
menu on the WebUI, but not on Touch, Controller, or iPeng.)

Yes, that works fine, but it's not as elegant -- you have to select the
playlist that you want to play this way. By having Dynamic Playlist in
the mixer context menu you can fire it for whatever playlist you
navigate to. Again, this has worked fine through LMS 7.7, so something
has changed going to 7.9.
