Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music & Artist Information plugin

2017-11-05 Thread Michael Herger

Apologies, I didn't find a remedy when I tried a couple of searches
initially. Thanks, I found instructions in the Spotty thread. However, I
have a ReadyNAS Ultra 4 and don't readily have root access. I was able
to find instructions to add the plugin to enable root access to the
ReadyNAS, but I just spent a couple of hours trying to get it to work
and I've given up. I'll go back to using Squeezebox just for playing the
music.

Or you install LMS on a Pi, using the NAS as a store only. I've gone
that way and don't regret.

What aarch64-linux folder? As I said LMS is not looking for that
platform specific folder, but only the parent /Bin folder. Or
anywhere in your search path (see the list you posted).

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.9.0 - now with experimental Spotify Connect support!

2017-11-05 Thread kezz

I apologize for how difficult this has been, I've tried a few things
including:

unchecking Spotty's helper application -> testing -> unchecking Spotty
-> rechecking Spotty -> testing -> unchecking spotty and then stopping
the server, removing spotty's folder in the plugins directory
(/Users/kezz/Library/Caches/Squeezebox) -> rechecking Spotty -> testing

The condition hasn't changed unfortunately, it's still:
Playlists and songs -
Track transport showing in the web interface and on squeezeboxes -

Sound coming out of the squeezeboxes -
Any relevant information in logs -

Still on OSX 10.11, for the time being I'd like to know how to downgrade
the plugin to it's last working version until this is figured out. Any
advice on how to do that?

thanks~

Michael,

Please don't feel disheartened when you're constantly asked the same
questions - it can be frustrating when people don't read the threads.
We're all extremely grateful for your continued effort and support with
LMS and its plugins. With some of these issues users just have to be
patient and solutions will be found. With other issues there may be no
solution, or not easy or practical ones. We have to accept that some
things can be done, some things not.

Your patience seems almost boundless. Thank you.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Radio Paradise Lossless Streaming (Plugin v2)

2017-11-05 Thread Michael Herger

Playing RP this morning, I'm finding that the FLAC stream I'm hearing is
about 45 minutes behind the RP website playlist.

I can confirm something's wrong right now. But TBH I'm not sure it's in
the plugin or on RP's end: I would get metadata for two songs, starting
with ID x, but the stream URL I get would indicate ID x-1 to x+1. This
already is questionable. If I then request the next junk, I would get
metadata for the same two tracks, but a stream URL indicating other
track IDs. I'll ping Bill before anything else.

Please note that the flac stream isn't a "real time" stream. All those
shows are pre-recorded. Otherwise you couldn't skip tracks. Basically
the old mp3/aac streams would just play track 1 to x straight through.
But with the track based flac stream you could skip tracks 2-3, playing
#4 when the mp3 stream was still on #2. Or if you paused RP for a few
hours, unpausing it would continue where you left (eg. track 10), while
the mp3 stream would be on track 25 already. Skipping to the next block
would probably bring you up in sync with mp3 again etc. I think I
mentioned this (in less detail) in my announcement.

I can confirm this annoying behavior. It occurs very unpredictable and I
have no clue what initiates the action to skip to the next track. I have
closed the Spotify Apps on the smartphones to exclude that influence.
However it also happens when no-one at home is touching anything. Hope
we can find the root cause before this drives me mad

What you could do is to launch iPeng through the URL calling scheme from
Safari and pass that launch URL as a parameter
https://trac.penguinlovesmusic.de/trac/ipengnat/wiki/URLScheme

You could then create a web clip icon for your calling URL and open
iPeng through that icon instead of the normal app icon

That was it! I did not know about this functionality of ipeng. Nor did
I realise pasteboard contents survive a restart on ios...

I had this in my paste buffer:

https://:y...@serverip.com:port/json.htm?type=command=switch=01=On

Probably while making IFTTT webhook recipes - though that was months ago
- I dont really use this iPad for anything other than as a remote for
squeeze and homekit.

I can replicate this on the new iPad now as well, though as its more of
a general use tablet, there is no guarantee I wouldn't have something
else in my paste buffer.

While I can certainly live with this as is, perhaps an enhancement
request would be to have a specific setting that launches a specific
given URL on launch?

More involved would be homekit integration and allow a homekit device to
be switched on on app launch. For this last one, I'd have to check the
existing automation routine capabilities, it might already be possible
on the homekit side to do this via a scene. I had previously been stuck
on homekit on ios9, im more of an android guy, so I am not sure what is
possible under iOS. This can easily be done via a Tasker task. There
are also some plugins in LMS that could automate this.

Thanks again, you found the proverbial needle in the haystack!

Oh, and I assume you have already checked whether you might have added
the address of your home automation sStem as a server address in iPeng
(Settings->iPeng Settings). That would certainly send some JSON...

Do you have the full JSON request that is being sent?
Could that be contained in URL-Form in the pasteboard of that iPad?
Whenever iPeng finds a URL in the pasteboard on startup it checks,
whether it’s actually a music URL that you want to play and to fully
resolve a URL this might include a HEAD request to the URL.
No body would be sent, though, so there can’t be any content which makes
full JSON impossible.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Radio Paradise Lossless Streaming (Plugin v2)

2017-11-05 Thread quadronado

First of all I want to say thank you, Michael, for this PlugIn.

I have the same problem here with LMS 7.9.1 - 1509357021 on Raspbian
Light. The Picture, Artist and Title does not fit the sound. And the
Picture doesn't change when a new track starts. Plugin Version is
2.1.1.
It worked with an update that came a few days ago. But I think it was
after an update for the "what was this tune?" plugin when it stopped
working again.

My Plugins: Bookmarks, Spotty, what was this tune?, Radio Paradise,
Music and Artist Information, LastMix

Some of my spotify playlists: 'Joni Mitchell covered'

- 'Johnny Cash originals'

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Radio Paradise Lossless Streaming (Plugin v2)

2017-11-05 Thread Furry

Playing RP this morning, I'm finding that the FLAC stream I'm hearing is
about 45 minutes behind the RP website playlist.

However, the artwork being presented appears to be following what's
current on the website. Actually, it seems to be one artwork in
advance.

Stopping and restarting play doesn't change this.

Also, rebuffering happens more frequently with the FLAC stream vs. the
AAC+ stream.
