Thanks Phillippe_44!

I can obviously just try escaping the brackets myself and might have a
go this evening, but would have no idea what I'm doing as if regex makes
your head spin, mine unscrews and falls off completely ;)!

Please let me know if I can help as it is my environment that has the
problem.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.9.0 - now with experimental Spotify Connect support!

2017-11-28 Thread mherger

This is another minor update which hopefully improves a few minor
details:

- re-initialize the Connect helper when you switch account. This
should simplify using Connect in a multi-user environment (Family
  accounts)
- get rid of the MAC address in the Connect endpoint name
- improve support for aarch64 (using the armhf binaries - let's
  see...)
- have the helper application create temporary files in LMS' cache
  folder rather than /tmp

Unfortunately I haven't been able to considerably improve Connect
reliability :-(.

Enjoy anyway :-).

Gaia compilation went through til step 90. Linking libraries failed.
However, this is not that important as the latest binary seems to work.

However, I might also try to run it on the workstation if it is only
required for the analysis as it has more power than the NAS. Doing right
now the same thing with MusicIP.

Do you have no numbers in the stats view, or are they 0 ?
How about the data view? Empty?
Did you try a Essentia search in the playlist editor with a condition
that should return results?

There's no entry for the stats in the log - could you try viewing the
stats / data while the log level for the plugin is set to debug?
There should be a line like:

Code:

  Plugins::LMSessentiaIntegration::Plugin::getStats() res = ...

I "think" the problem comes from the ogg to flac transcoding rule which
is using SOX. You do not see that with the Boom as they (probably)
accept Vorbis directly. Maybe somebody else can give an opinion or you
can post a question in transcoding section. I can't test easily right
now on my system, but what I'm sure 100% is that YT + AirPlay works on
my config. What I don't remember is what transcoding is being used

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: Alexa voice control (development thread)

2017-11-28 Thread meep

Hi All

Don't give up just yet!

It's been oh so quiet on the Alexa dev. front of late due to other work
stuff taking up a lot of time. I know I've been saying that for a while
but it's true!

I still need to finish out the feature set for the established Alpha
test group. I'm not taking anyone new into that group at the moment as I
want the people who are familiar with the skill and plugin to help
finish it out (ie I don't want to spend time right now going over basics
with new testers).

Once we get the alpha working, I'll be opening up to a wider beta group
with a view to improving stability and getting language versions back on
track.

I'm heartened by the number of people who've been contacting me seeking
access to the test phase. There's obviously an appetite within the SB
community for this kind of add on.

If you want to get involved in the upcoming beta, send me a PM here or
email to admin at hab-tunes dot com. (just posting on this thread is
unlikely to work as I won't be trawling through pages of posts to pick
out applicants). If you've already done that and I've responded, happy
days. If you didn't get a response, I've missed you for some reason so
please try again.

Stay tuned!

Peter

There seems to be one error in the gaia instructions:

Code:

PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/opt/qt-4.8.7/lib/pkgconfig CFLAGS="-march=native -O2 -pipe
-fomit-frame-pointer" CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}" ./waf configure
--prefix=/opt/essentia-2.1b4 --qtdir=/opt/qt-4.8.7 -mode=release

The '-mode' needs to be change to '--mode'. Otherwise it will end in an
error message.

GAIA is currently compiling. Will report back once it is working (or
not)

the "backroom" boys will not know about the problem. Given that BBC
have said the feeds that Extra uses will be removed next year - it is
necessary to remind BBC there are users of the "official" feed.

I'd avoid complaining to the Beeb. Let the 'backroom' boys sort it out!

You have to be careful how you phrase your "complaint".

Except possibly for one or two engineers, the BBC know nothing about the
BBCiPlayer plugin and LMS.

Your complaint will have to make reference to the official BBC vendor
feeds of "Listen Again" data (with URL) and explain as they are used by
3rd party vendors of streaming audio systems.

Otherwise BBC will think your comment is about iPlayer Radio which has
no problems and you will be ignored.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Success: MusicIP and Spicefly Sugarcube running on Raspberry Pi

2017-11-28 Thread slartibartfast

It seems to be possible to open the default.m3lib file on the Pi in the
Windows MusicIP mixer and analyse the tracks in the Pi's library from
there. This is just as fast as analysing on a local disk and archives
the fingerprint in file metadata.

Hi Ronnie, Thanks.

I fear that the problem might be to do with the latest version of Perl
(5.26.0) as I made the "mistake"(??) of installing artful. Maybe that's
too new for the code.

Anyway, I could try escaping the offending brackets or just waiting
for Phillip_44's response.

Thanks for taking a look.

BR.

Didn't understand any of the answers :o

The pearl word appears in a lot of the replies.

Something for -*philippe_44*- I think.

By the way the plugin installs on Raspberry-stretch-lite ok.

Maybe try an apt-get update?or one of the other deb packages? (no idea
which one)

Agreed, don't think that what they're talking about in that post is the
same issue, but possible that an attempt to fix the problem may have
broken our feed? They're also acknowledging a fault to Listen Live dated
Monday 27th Nov, posted here:

http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/radio/internet_radio

which does indictate that they're making changes, with possible
unintended collateral damage...

At least they have acknowledged a fault but the date does not match so
not sure if this is the same fault. There is nothing in blog to
indicate any change in feed operation or functionality so it looks like
a problem with the feed. As I said before, I believe the implementation
of this feed was outsourced when it was implemented maybe 5-6 years ago.
Lets hope there is a maintenance contract but it is unlikely original
developers are around, so some poor person is having to go into old code
and figure what has happened (i.e. what was broken by BBC over the
weekend - BBC likes doing new code at weekends) and then fix it. A
couple of days at least.

My guess is that they may have done something to try to fix that issue

much will come of it.
