I meant the BBCiPlayer plugin Recent Tracks menu but the info should be the same. I'll do a bit more digging. A quick looks seems ot indicate that the VFD display has a composite field "info" which is made up from other metadata whereas the WebGUI and Touch display use the standard fields: "artist" "track" and "disc". bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106409 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Success: MusicIP and Spicefly Sugarcube running on Raspberry Pi
slartibartfast wrote: > There is still something odd about your installation if you need to run > qemu manually. > > Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk I think one problem could be that crontab does not have the same environment like a logged-in user, e.g. path, variables... If none of the conventional solutions works, a workaround could be to run musicIP always as root not, as OSMC user. In that case, the database needs to be copied to the home folder of root and there under the subfolder .Musicmagic (will be created automatically if you start musicip as root) and the configuration and other relevant files need to be copied to this folder as well. The startup script mmserver needs to be adapted to run musicip as root as well. This approach worked for me with a Raspian installation some time ago. Slartibartfast is right that the tutorial in the first post most probably contains a bug concerning the mmserver scipt. The mmserver in the MusicIP home folder should contain the same code like the mmserver in the init.d folder (except the header for the init.d daemon). I will update the tutorial once I can reconfirm this (most probably when I will play around some ideas with Stretch and a Raspian-based Distribution in the upcoming weeks) frankd's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=52885 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106958 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

With v 1.4.4 also had the 'Access Violation' error which recurred just once on v1.4.5 when first running the (still blank) mini player. I'll check to see if it happens again tomorrow. Oddly, with v1.4.4 the Access Violation disappeared after a reboot so it seems it may be a bit of a random thing anyway. There was another error I saw since about v1.4.0 which looks as if it may have resolved. After reboot running the browser resulted in an 'Initialising' message on screen that persisted. If I left the system alone for a few hours and tried again it went straight to the LMS home screen as expected. Permission is usually in the form of squeezboxserver user being a member of a number of groups. Some groups are generic such as "audio", others are specific to the device such as "cdrom". The available group depends on the distro you are using. What groups are set up on your system ? Permissions can also be related to the permission assigned to the device (i.e. what does "ls -l /dev/cdrom" show ?) bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47288 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hi, I tried again reinstall LMS for newer version of 7.9.2 at rpi 2B as I have tested it at ubuntu intel NUC machine and it was running well the CDplayer in instant mode and with no white noise whatever. The latest LMS info: Code: Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.2 - 1527861596 @ Fri Jun 1 16:17:20 CEST 2018 Hostname: DietPi Server IP Address: 192.168.1.231 Server HTTP Port Number: 9000 Operating system: Debian - EN - utf8 Platform Architecture: armv7l-linux Perl Version: 5.24.1 - arm-linux-gnueabihf-thread-multi-64int Audio::Scan: 0.95 IO::Socket::SSL: 2.044 Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.34_01 (sqlite 3.7.7.1) Total Players Recognized: 1 This new installation is running LMS under squeezeboxserver user and no more root like previously: Code: /usr/sbin/squeezeboxserver --prefsdir /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/prefs --logdir /var/log/squeezeboxserver/ --cachedir /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache --charset=utf8 However, this new installation doesn't allow to connect CDplayer anymore with "no cd exist, wrong index" message. But I had previously already set: Code: ln -s /usr/bin/icedax /usr/bin/cdda2wav usermod -a -G cdrom squeezeboxserver If I changed the command /usr/sbin/squeezeboxserver to run under root user, I could access the CDplayer. I don't see much alternative to the element of duplication in the tree, because in reality you are providing several alternative trees. You should be able to de-duplicate the pure perl and Autoloader bits by placing immediately under the perl version directory. That said, I don't really remember what LMS puts into @INC. That resolved, perhaps a simple approach might be something like the following in 'initPlugin', in place of 'use Crypt::OpenSSL::RSA' and seeding '$rsa' in the main body. Code: sub initPlugin { my $class = shift; # Required modules that we distribute for some platforms. Log an # informative message and fail the plugin if we fail to load. eval {require Crypt::OpenSSL::RSA}; if ($@) { $log->error("Failed to load perl module Crypt::OpenSSL::RSA, which this plugin requires. "oddly" is for sure. just now, Android Spotify showed the device at the bottom bar as the active device. as stated, it normally does not do this. per your comment, i tried a complete re-install and there's no device at the bottom bar, just in the settings... what is pCP? i now do the "shutdown" command before powering off. but the volume upon boot, it's always back to 50. pavowren's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51958 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108898 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.3.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
Android Spotify app does show the device if i dive into the settings/devices; Hmm... there's an increasing number of reports where the Android app would behave oddly. As I mentioned earlier today some users reported deleting/re-installing it would make it work again. Can't tell, as I don't have any recent Android device... When I start up the RPi and start Spotty, the volume is always at 50. Who determines this? and is there a way for it to recall the last setting? That would likely be a pCP issue: don't just pull the plug, but have it do a backup first. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Let me clarify: Android Spotify app does show the device if i dive into the settings/devices; it just is not aware that something is playing on the device. Whereas Windows Spotify always knows correctly. Somewhat related question: When I start up the RPi and start Spotty, the volume is always at 50.
