I know the API thingy is not trivial and I wish I could remove the need
of creating one, as it should only be a developer problem and there is a
need for only one key for everybody. Unfortunately, it has to go up to
the user for some non-technical reasons. Maybe one day somebody will
want to share his ...

Regarding interruptions, I would really recommend you upgrade you LMS

Many thanks to Philippe, for checking my API key.

Just for other users: I believe that the guide here 'here'
will not fit all situations. At least myself, when creating a new key, I
never came to the choices mentionned in the guide, where I could select
"Browser key" or to the point where I could "enable" the key. Instead,
searching, at some point, I got to a page where I could choose among
different google services, and I activated "YouTube Data API v3". And I
guess that's what made my key work. Anyway, my skills are not the ones
of a software developper, and as I don't actually understand, what an
"API" is, and I guess that's why I easily get confused on that google
developper's platform (might apply to other common users, too, I
guess).

Now, the plugin seems to work, I see video titles and thumbnails, I even
managed to connect to my own google/youtube account (anyway, it was
again not easy, this time, because copy-pasting keys between google and
the app would produce a space). Anyway, everything works - formally
speaking...

However, playing does not really work. When I select a video, it starts
to play after a long delay and interrupts after a short while. It looks
like an bandwith-issue and the plugin seems to interrupt in order to
re-buffer. However, I can play the same video without problems on the pc
that runs LMS, so even though I am "only" connected to the internet over
a mobile 4G+ - network, normally this connections does everything,
including video streaming, without limitations, so I don't understand
why this would be a problem for the youtube plugin of LMS:

Thanks again, Philippe, for your much appreciated help!

Did you change these sox-things in LMS by any chance? I never touched

I guess I use whatever is the default. However, it doesn't matter in
this case, as I hear this with all devices.

Philippe has summarized the two separate issues nicely. I experience the
first one regularly, but never the 2nd one. Philippe, since you did a
considerable amount of work isolating the root cause underlying issue
no. 1, would you feel comfortable posting to RP forum and/or contacting
Bill about it? I would be happy to do so, but feel I wouldn't do as good
a job describing the issue. OTOH, I'm a RP monthly supporter, and the
request may carry more weight coming from a regular contributor.

Thanks. The skipping/reset problem is frustrating, as we'll need to
prove to Bill that the problem is not on the LMS end. But the stuttering
is happening to even on the direct FLAC url and via the RP website

Does the server clear the log every time the service is restarted?

I tried 1.16.2, but it's not really better, it's different. Now after
pressing play after pause, the music plays without interruption, but the
time display of UI seems totally confused and wrong.
And after the fourth repeat the music is gone again.

Again the log for the first case 27299 now with 1.16.2
and without so many "gain_and_fade" messages.
Perhaps it's less confusing now.

Thanks for the sample I can hear the "ticking" in that flac file.

However, I don't experience it with my win7 or win10 laptops with either
build.

If you don't specify an output device when starting squeezelite-win will
use the default defined in the control panel and the MME (Windows
multimedia extension audio driver), which you almost always don't want
to use unless you are sending remote audio to an RDP client.

Please try 'the last 1.8.7-1086 version'
The file only contains the squeezelite-win.exe, you need all the dlls
from the '1.9.1-1139 earlier test build'
I'm trying to narrow down the change which might be causing the

For the ones who have "stuttering" problems, there are 2 types of issues

1- A song is skipped in its middle and audio move either to Bill's
announcement or to another track ==> this is a TLS encryption problem in
Bill's setup when stream pauses for too long. Nothing we can do on our
side ==> I don't think this is what some of you describe
2- For stuttering, have you tried to put a really large streambuf (for
the squeezelite users). Go large like 50MB (not the outputbuf) and see
if it changes something. If it does not, you can help by capturing
packets

tcpdump -w radio.pcap host 23.29.117.2

The file will be BIG and then you can use different tools to visualize
