Why not just use the Podcast plugin from Logitech?

I added this to the Podcast settings and it works:

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Plugin for playing MP3s from an RSS feed?

2019-08-13 Thread Owen Smith

A monthly podcast I follow has an RSS feed. At the moment to play the
podcasts I download the MP3 file, save it to a directory on LMS, and
then play it. But this means a delay in listening while I get chance to
do that. Is there a plugin that will take the RSS feed and let me play
any of the episodes?

Alternatively something that just scraped the MP3 links out of the web
page would also do the job. The podcast is:

First, thank you slartibartfast for posting your description.

Secondly, Craig - I agree it is not a fundamentally an important feature
- which is the reason I waited to mention anything about it here.

I have found however, that Favorites requires me to get to my Favorites
list via browsing, scroll through my list of favorites - and yes, I
should make my list shorter than it is. There are specific "stations" I
listen to literally every day, and those can be assigned to these
buttons. They are easy to get to, like when I am on the stair master at
the gym, etc.

That said, Michael himself said that it was minor new feature. It might
be sufficient from my perspective, if it were possible to pin
"Favorites" to the Home page?

Annoying, I know! You should use the other plugins folder -
-Slim/Plugins- (I think) However, you would then need to manually
update, etc. However, I will be releasing 0.9.6 in a day or so.

Then they show in Squeeze Ctrl.

What would the point be? Is it not just quick access to favourites? If
so, why not just show that list?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin

2019-08-13 Thread Ron F.

Hi Craig,

Material 0.9.5 is looking great! I am currently running 0.9.6 now,
pulled from GitHub.

In late January, Michael added what I thought is a very cool addition to
LMS 7.9.2, although he apparently thought it to be a minor new feature:
a Preset Editor plugin. See:
https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?110087-New-in-7-9-2-Presets-editor=preset+buttons

I like this. In the client, the buttons work like an old car radio with
pre-programmed push buttons. In LMS, each available button can be
assigned an internet stream URL, Playlist, Favorite, etc. All the client
has to do, is "push" one of the available buttons. LMS permits a set of
presets for each player that it knows about. The editor is under Server
settings > Player tab > Presets Editor. I used to drive cars with
buttons like this ... actually ... I still do.

Now, this might not seem terribly useful if it were to be implemented in
material's desktop display, but in the mobile display, I think it would
be quite useful. I would love to see this added somehow to material, if
it could be done. The next question becomes - where would you put such
buttons, for any that have been assigned something for the current
device? I don't exactly know, possibly as a row in the Player Selection
Menu?

I learned about this feature after it was implemented in the Android app
Squeeze Ctrl. It makes selecting something I listen to often, like the
Radio Paradise main FLAC stream, easily selected while driving with my
phone in the car, or when out for a walk. I should offer an explanation
- I use a NeoRouter-based VPN to stream music from LMS running on my
home server to my phone.

Would it be possible to add a control for this "Preset" feature in a
future release of material?

I saw changes in 1.9.4-1182 yesterday, and will include in next build of

Thanks for posting this. I'm not sure why squeezelite even listed mono
devices as it fails to open the device requesting the required minimum
of stereo.

I've changed -l to only display devices with more than 1 channel from
version 1.9.4-1182.

There's a new windows build which also includes another fix for spotty
ogg/vorbis tracks still skipping on occasion and native support for opus
decoding.

For this reason, one of the next iPeng versions will replace the browser
