I understand and if there was an easy solution that I know of, I would
build it. Unfortunately I’m not aware of one and because I do not have a
need for that myself it will not make sense for me to try.

RPi works fine with its poor DAC and jack output. I can buy a HQ DAC to
attach to the RPi, but then my squeezebox touch becomes obsolete..

which supposedly carries a License

Kinda funny since the drivers are GPLv2.

Looks simple enough, but would you have a link to the original sources.

They are all labeled GPLv2, and I guess I trust that google is not
violating licenses.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] No output Raspberrypi zero W with Google voicehat

2020-02-06 Thread gregfrye

Hi Paul

I ran into a few problems (misplaced my flash card).

The working Raspbian + squeezelit was the original aiy voicekit micro sd
card and adding squeezelite package from the Raspbian repo.

I looked around and found a source directory that has the aiy
voicebonnet card source as well as other aiy packages.

I made a zip of the directory for you to look at. I tried to attach it
(29.2MB) but it didn't seem to work (firefox).

I joined dropbox and have a link:

You might be able to pick your way through this and either use a
modified version of the Python script and change it from storing light
brightness to mediaplayer volume or see if the newish functionality in
HA does it for you.

https://community.home-assistant.io/t/python-script-to-save-and-restore-switches-and-lights/52745

Another way would be to Pause/Resume around the VOIP call - in which
case you would not have to be concerned about the volume (but you would
probably have to remember whether or not the pause was necessary
otherwise a player that was paused long ago would start up at the end of
the call).

That's normal. If you want to get rid of these warnings, just create
three empty files at the location mentioned and rename them accordingly.
But it really doesn't matter.

Ok - I have been streaming using Spotty to my SB Touch, with the default
buffer size selected using the EDO applet.

This time when it happened, LMS v8.0 generated the following:
thread 'main' panicked at 'called `Result::unwrap()` on an `Err` value:
Custom { kind: Other, error: StringError("bytes remaining on stream")
}', src/libcore/result.rs:997:5
note: Run with `RUST_BACKTRACE=1` environment variable to display a

I hit the "Next Track" button and continued on.

Every restart of LMS I get the following messages in the log...

Is this something that needs attention or nothing to worry about?

Well, that was easy. Wanted to make sure I didn't need to uninstall the
beta first. Everything looks good, very responsive with navigation now.
Will test further after work. Thanks!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] LMS-lite certified Smart Home skill for Alexa

2020-02-06 Thread philchillbill

I've noticed that some people's accounts auto-discover every few hours
or so, while others apparently never do. What's the logic there? I also
observed this morning that all my players were shown duplicated in the
Alexa app, as Amazon dug up old historical data for my account from
somewhere deep in the bowels of some server. Apparently, when you delete
a smart home device, you don't really delete it. It's a shame they don't
document this erratic behaviour...
