SOME REMARKS ON THE USE : - I understand that you don't have many alternative but switching the presence of the title bar when you switch between now playing and main view is a little strange. It could be a little better if it was possible to stay in fullscreen. - the "mobile layout" is strangely managed by this new fullscreen option : if you activate the "mobile layout" during a fullscreen you will be in fullscreen mode for ever and vice versa. I have to say that it is the best experience on my touch device : the app is beatiful in fullscreen and switching between playing and browse is easy thanks to big touch buttons. (I know that it's not the desired behavior because we can't exit fullscreen without esc key from keyboard.. but please don't kill it :D) - These 2 first remarks make me think that we should found an alternative to exit fullscreen (something else than the button "now playing" button) : - You can't oveeride an exit fullscreen button in Material skin ? - You can't catch a double tap touch at the middle top of the windows ? - Or we exit fullscreen when we click on "... -> settings" ? Now I'm also going to ask you for the next step for an autonomous touch player ;) : Do you think possible to add an options to start Squeezelite-X in fullscreen by default :o ? Very early stage, but if you are interested you need to use the '5-smart-mixes' branch from your git checkout of lms-musicsimilarity. (Not sure about the name 'Smart Mix' will probably change). No way to create, edit, or delete these at the moment. But the plugin will list all ".attrmix" (e.g. "Sad songs.attrmix") files in LMS's playlists folder. You can then click on a "smart mix" and the new API is called - creating a mix of tracks. The file format is a key=value", with the keys detailed in https://github.com/CDrummond/music-similarity/blob/master/docs/API.md e.g. Code: minbpm=30 maxbpm=100 danceable=52 count=20 genre=Pop;Dance Note, 'Smart Mix' entry is shown under 'My Music' in Material but does not work with Default skin. Also, LMS will query music-similarity at start-up to see if Essentia is enabled - so its proably best if music-similarity is running before LMS. The plugin does check every 15 seconds for up to 5 minutes to obtain the Essentia level - so should not be required to already be started, but might help. *Material debug:* 1. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] No Album No Artist
My preference is : Keep the OS on a small capacity card; 16gb is more than enough, expand the files system to 2gb at the max Use a usb stick (I currently have a system with a 128gb stick) with the music files on, plugged into the rpi. Alternately a 2.5 inch usb hd drive (not a SSD) KISS Format the stick / drive to suit the computer OS which stores a back up of the music files. Back up the OS on the SD card (this will preserve cache, preferences and pathways) ronnie Spread the risk :) Man in a van's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43627 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115803 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hi all, is there any way to use the cost free account of spotify with spotty? I have myselfa premium account but I want to build this radio for my friend, which hasn't till now. I ordered a free premium month for him, and it works (of course). But what should I do after this free month? I hope there is any possibility! Yes. The problem I had would happen with the CORE32 based LMS (i.e. NXP i.MX6 ARM processor, 512Mb memory, custom RTOS PolyCORE) but not an Ubuntu LMS (i.e. iCore7 processor, 16Gb RAM). So I think memory allocated to network buffering is part of my issue. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111370 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Odd, I have Heart songs - but when I choose 'Can I Play With Madness', I don't see Heart being selected. However, different library, etc. Have you tested your analysis results, as stated on the music-similarity github homepage? Musly does have a known issue where it assigns the same similarity to all songs. If everything is OK with that, perhaps set all the filters to 0, so that just Musly is used. Seeing as you have analysed your tracks with Essentia high-level, you could try setting 'Similarity weighting' to 100. This will cause only Essentia to be used. The similarity score is the calculated on how close each track is to the seed track's Essentia high-level attributes. Would be interesting to see if you see an improvement there. The amount of space required to store a CD with flac compression will vary, depending on the complexity of the waveform (full orchestra will probably need more space than a recording of solo flute) and the length of the recording (a reissue of a 40-minute LP with no added material will need less space than a full CD with 70+ minutes of the same material). Around 300 Megabytes per CD seems to be a good approximation. In a quick check just now, I saw some CDs that were under 250 MB, and a few that were over 400 MB. Chances are good that you'll get everything to fit on a 128 GB SD card; if not, 256 GB cards are available. And, as suggested, be sure you back up that card! LMS 8 nightly running on Raspberry Pi OS. I've never used ratings on tracks - although I can see why many do, and it's something I've often considered. I'm probably using it differently though, as I tend to think of a seed track, see where that takes me... then often listen to an album I've not heard recently that comes up... then seed from there etc. I do get what you're saying about frequently re-occuring items though. For me it seems to be Sting (I have one compilation, that's all), but I'm often seeing that appear in the playlist. However, when I compare the mixes to LastMix, where whatever I'd started with, that always seemed to tend towards a ninties-indie mix (not least because I have a reasonable number of such albums in my collection)... With Music Similarlty, the mixes tend to head off in different directions which I'm far more appreciative of. I only have the one Stevie Wonder album (and no -Superstition-), and not a single Heart track... so I can't test to see if there's any in-built bias at play! ;) mruddo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=65325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115609 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I'm pretty sure it NOT hearing the same symptoms. The symptoms I heard 1. Somewhere mid track (usually after 5 mins) - player will skip to next track. 2. Skip a chunk in the middle of a track but not replaced by silence - as if a chunk of music was lost. 3. At end of track usually between last 45-15 secs - silence but time clock counts down at x secs to go, then at zero resets back to x secs to go and counts down again & again. With this issues, occasionally player may eventually progress to next track. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111370 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] No Album No Artist
It pays to carefully set up dbPoweramp to rip your CD's in something like the following format - 1-01 - trackname.flac, where 1 = Disc no, 01 = track number - this avoids the occasional situation where a multi disk CD has identically named tracks on more than 1 Cd which happen to be in the same place track number wise. I have seen it. It's also the time to consider whether you want to add replay gain tags which can easily be configured in dbPoweramp - perhaps not so much an issue with Classical music but definitely worth it in pop/rock collections. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty 4.7.0
Regarding the playlist-error message - as far as I can see all the messages contain the text 'recommended' - maybe this problem only occurs for songs from the list that is presented at the bottom of an active playlist 'recommended songs' based on the current playlist. How did you add those "tracks" to your queue? ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

But you don't need to know any Linux (I don't, I don't even know how to pronounce the word), it's just clicking a few buttons in a web browser on a platform you are familiar with. You will get all the help you need from a wider and knowledgeable audience if you you post pCP problems on a thread such as this one. https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?114828-Announce-piCorePlayer-8-0-0 *Server - LMS 8.3.0 *Pi4B 4GB/Argon one case/pCP 8.1.0 - 75K library, playlists & LMS cache on Sata SSD (ntfs) *Study -* Pi4/Pi screen/pCP 8.1.0 > HiFiBerry DAC HAT > Edifier *Lounge* - Pi2/pCP 8.1.0 > HiFiBerry DIGI+ > Topping E30 > AVI DM5 *Dining Room* - Echo Show 8 *Garage* - Rpi4/pCP/AP mode > Touch > Edifier *Spares* - 1xTouch, 1xSB Radio. 1xSB3, 6xRPi, 1xDAC32, 1xCORE32 kidstypike's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10436 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115803 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

It's a beautiful sunny morning here in Southampton but a bitterly cold -3.4C. Thanks for the pointer. I will look. I must sort a backup. In the longer term I have a number of options. I currently have a 1TB USB hard drive hanging off the rPi and that drive used to hang off the telly for recording and time slipping. I could leave it on the rPi or put it back on the TV and find other storage for the FLAC library. It depends how big it is when I rip more CDs. I could get a 256GB SD card and neatly keep all inside the tiny rPi case; or, when I de-commission the old PC, there is a relatively new 256GB SSD card to be recovered -but a USB housing for it may cost as much as a 256GB SD card! Lots to think about. If your LMS cache folder is now on the SD card, you can create an exact image of your partitions and file systems, so you would only need to burn this image to a fresh SD card and you're back up and running, no LMS/pCP configuration needed. You should get a choice), mine below. On pCP main page, under "Additional functions" click the "Create SD card image". 36965 +---+ |Filename: image01.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=36965| +---+ *Server - LMS 8.3.0 *Pi4B 4GB/Argon one case/pCP 8.1.0 - 75K library, playlists & LMS cache on Sata SSD (ntfs) *Study -* Pi4/Pi screen/pCP 8.1.0 > HiFiBerry DAC HAT > Edifier *Lounge* - Pi2/pCP 8.1.0 > HiFiBerry DIGI+ > Topping E30 > AVI DM5 *Dining Room* - Echo Show 8 *Garage* - Rpi4/pCP/AP mode > Touch > Edifier *Spares* - 1xTouch, 1xSB Radio. 1xSB3, 6xRPi, 1xDAC32, 1xCORE32 kidstypike's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10436 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115803 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

That is on the to-do list. But first I have to work out how to do it! I suppose I Samba in and copy the files to another location. And I need to work out how to snatch the LMS/Material config files to a safe place so I can build an identical system elsewhere if needed. This is for me a steep learning curve.
