Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Empty
Sweet! It took nearly 2 hours to rebuild the database of over 77,000 tracks & artwork. Now it works. Listening to The Cure: Disintegration We've gone through some power outages in recent weeks and my UPS is long dead. This may have contributed to the problem. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Empty
I went in again and noticed a warning under the selection box that says the scan was aborted and media will be unavailable until rescanned. Damn. So i put it back to "check for new..." And clicked RESCAN. NOW the external drive is chooching and the progress bar is SLOWLY increasing. It's gonna take awhile... I chose "clear library and rescan media", click RESCAN, the progress bar quickly shoots to 100% but it doesn't appear to actually DO anything. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Empty
Running Orange Squeeze 2.3.2 Sometimes when I search my server using the app on my phone some folders of some artists show Empty. This also happens when I use my SB remote. The content is definitely there on the little notebook that acts as my server. I don't know where to start in resolving the problem. I haven't updated anything in a decade... I'm not very network savvy and prefer things "that just work" without constant tweaking. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Is XM radio down again?
I jumped through the hoops, including a call to customer service when the app didn't want to accept my chosen online username. Got music again but now after an hour or so I get kicked out with an irritating Stream stopped, you are no longer authorized to listen. This happened several time during the afternoon. I used to get kicked when I listened to XM online at work. Apparently there's no keep alive ping back to their server. I've seen this mentioned in other threads but have yet to see a solution. I'm not going to keep paying for online access if I have to go poke the remote every hour :( -- Guy48065 Guy48065's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38659 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85419 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM plugin--where how?
The plugin instructions didn't make any mention of needing to register online for XMRO. I used to use different (3rd party) app to listen online so I've never registered. I'll try that next, thanks! -- Guy48065 Guy48065's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38659 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79957 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

garym;558351 Wrote: To be fair to the developer of this plugin, I should note that the first line on the XMRadio plugin settings page says: If you have an XM Radio Online account, you can listen to XM radio stations on your Slim Devices player. Visit www.xmradio.com to sign up. OK I missed that detail--or actually didn't understand the need. XM only started charging for online service about a year ago. I used to listen online with XaMp Desktop (3rd part app for PC) but it just quit working one day I couldn't find out why (poor support of the app, no communication from XM). With what I've learned the past 2 days I guess it quit when XM started requiring registering money (change to my subscription) for the access. So anyways...Called CS to add the online service (couldn't find the clicky to add it, despite the instruction page (below)). Signed up at $2.99/mo for the ability to listen online OR my car (not both at same time) and now the plugin works. Also found out you don't need an XM radio to get the online service. I think it's $7.99/mo for online-only. Hope something here helps the next guy. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM plugin--where how?
My 3rd party list only had about 6 items in it. Of course I have no idea how many _should_ be there... So I shut down the server rebooted the netbook. It came back online with no errors a long list of plugins--incl. XMRO. Yay! I went through the setup but now there's a *new* problem. MY SBC gives me a Failed to receive channel info from XM.com error. I had no issues connecting to SBS or mysqueezebox.com and can find play other internet stations just fine. Is there a complete install guide troubleshooting tips I can access? This is making me feel like an idiot. -- Guy48065 Guy48065's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38659 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79957 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM plugin--where how?
Yes on all counts. That's what's so confusing to me. It would help if I knew how it worked. How does SBS having my account login info enable it to get access to the XM *music* (as opposed to just my account information)? I mean...each XM radio has it's own unique ID subscription and XM knows when each is on. How does an internet-based device imitate that? -- Guy48065 Guy48065's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38659 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79957 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM plugin--where how?
Baby steps... XM may be the cause of my problems. I tried but failed to logon online. A call to CS revealed they did this to block my access to force me to call CS to clear a radio ID question! Cleared that hurdle so now I can log in to my account *online*. But I still get a Failed to log in to XM.com...incorrect username or password. I've re-entered this info several times, shutdown/restarted the server, restarted the pc, turned off/unplugged the SBC. No change. I can access my library internet stations but just can't log on XM. Man this is frustrating... -- Guy48065 Guy48065's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38659 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79957 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
