Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty plugin - is it possible to change Spotify-connect settings from CLI call ?
Have you tried just adding the -C 'command to squeezelite ?' (https://ralph-irving.github.io/squeezelite.html) I think Spotify drops the output when it is stopped. Maybe try this; play something using Squeezelite, stop the player, use Spotify-connect from a Phone or tablet, halt playback, select the phone or tablet as the spotify-Connect client but don't play any music. You should then be able to play via Squeezelite. ronnie Man in a van's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43627 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=117265 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

It should be Linear (live Broadcast) and Non-linear (streaming) The changes were announced back in May of this year. Live Broadcast is to stop and content made avaialble via streaming. What format the Streaming takes will have to be heard when it happens, I can't find any information that is current. So actually the set up is LMS and Player on pCp connecting to Music store on Windows 10 computer or is it LMS and Player on pCp connecting to Music store on pCP with atatched hard drive and OP does not want to unplug the hard drive on pCP to connect it to the Windows computer for updating Is that it ? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play and PiCorePlayer spots randomly when playing Spotify streams via SPOTTY
@HERCULEPIRATE I have never used the LMS Spotty Plugin very much :( The reason is that I once asked Mr Herger a question regarding Rust and he replied that I might like to "try it myself" :) (or something like that :D) Anyway, not knowing how to compile even a garden compost bin I started looking for posts from people who knew what they are doing. I found a post by pinkdot on another forum and that remained my "go to" buld for "librespot" for a very long time. Pinkdot eventually seemed to move to spotifyd but my brain could not cope with all the copy and paste  Then I found "spocon" and have been using it ever since (intermittently as I often suspend my Spotify Premium Account) https://github.com/spocon/spocon This morning I installed it on the two rpi that I have configured for m2p 37269 It does require a little configuration; name change, bit playback size, volume at start up, that sort of thing. It does seem reliable, I have been controlling it from my Windows 10 Pro Desktop Spotify for about an hour now, with no glitches  Anyway I offer "spocon" as an alternative method :):):p ronnie +---+ |Filename: spocon.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=37269| +---+ Man in a van's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43627 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115976 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] No Album No Artist
My preference is : Keep the OS on a small capacity card; 16gb is more than enough, expand the files system to 2gb at the max Use a usb stick (I currently have a system with a 128gb stick) with the music files on, plugged into the rpi. Alternately a 2.5 inch usb hd drive (not a SSD) KISS Format the stick / drive to suit the computer OS which stores a back up of the music files. Back up the OS on the SD card (this will preserve cache, preferences and pathways) ronnie Spread the risk :) Man in a van's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43627 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115803 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

IMHO the key word here is "better" Replace this with "preferable" or "different" and there might be some substance to different people "hearing" differently. Moode and Volumio use MPD and LMS SqueezeOS (and emulaters thereof) to produce the sound (this my understanding, and not a definitive statement:p) There are people who like Moode / Volumio more than LMS, some who like Squeezelite more through Moode than LMS. One person I know, on another forum, told me that he preffered Moode to LMS because he was "cursed with perfect pitch" and that Moode worked for him and LMS did not. When I first tried Moode, about v3, I found its presentation of music different to LMS in a more detailed and (faster) dynamic way (if my memory is correct). I did not take notes, did not double blind test or ensure the volume was level matched. I did not pronounce it "better", or "best". My suggestion is that you try for yourself and back your own judgement and settle for that :):) ronnie Cables, power supplies and output stages are also, IMO, best served by the empirical experience of the user :):p Man in a van's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43627 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115641 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

So, assuming: that beta mode is elected in pCP (from the bottom of the Main page) the dac is powered on, the usb input selected and the rpi rebooted, then with no snd_usb_audio in your lsmod, it means that the dac is not recognised. Whilst still playing I selected Blondie, but it would not start playing and the Top Tracks field on the left hand side was empty. I stopped Bob Marley reselected Blondie ( I went back Three screens to Browse on Spotify) aand played through to track two.
