Well forget about pCP for a while and install raspberrypi desktop on the rpi. Update and upgrade the software, enable VNC server and SSH on the rpi, connect the dac, power the dac on and reboot the pi. The dac should be shown as an output when you right click the rpi desktop volume control the run lsmod again to compare with pCP.
